ASDA CURRIES
Mar. 29th, 2024 11:20 amBENS BIRYANI RICE
This is a great quick and easy meal. I added peppers and onions and chicken and was enough for two. I did find it a little bland and lacking in flavour.
=========================================================================
BLOCK OF GOLDEN CURRY
2 SPOONS OF MADRAS PASTE
400G OF WATER AND MILK
2 TEASPOON OF SUGAR
2 SQUEEZES OF TOMATO PASTE
HALF OF OXO CUBE
TEASPOON OF GARAM MASSALA OR BIRYANI
===================================================
VEGGIE CURRY
2 cups of basmati rice (Daawat, Banyan, Tasty Bites, Royal)
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp hot paprika
3 tsp yellow curry
50 5 ghee or butter or oil (CHECK THE QUANTITY)
1 finely chopped shallot
2 garlic cloves
2 tsp grated or finely chopped ginger
2 carrots
600 gr veggie stock
2 cups frozen peas
Salt and pepper to a taste
Yogurt
Coriander leaves
Nuts
Heat the cooking fat in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for less than a minute. Add the onion and cook until it’s soft. Add the carrots and cook for 3-4 minutes so they become al dente and sweet. Add the rice and then the spices, the broth, the salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Stir once, turn the heat to low, and place a lid on top. It takes about 15 minutes for the rice to cook. After 14-15 minutes there should be no liquid left and you can remove the rice from the heat source. Let it rest for 10 minutes and then fluff it with a fork or wooden spatula. Add the nuts, coriander, and yogurt and serve.

FOOD - KOKA NOODLES
Gorgeous! Good for frying up with some stir fry, and they don't go to mush like the inferior brands.
I added 1/2tsp of chili flakes for some spice. better than the branded equivalents. A++
Add some soya sauce and Buffalo sauce and a dash of Worcester sauce and a tasty lunch this will be. :)
