Rebellion against entrenched systems

Emergence of new ideologies

Technological or structural innovation

It’s like England gets a cosmic nudge to reinvent itself every time Pluto hits Aquarius. And while the expressions differ—monarchs, parliaments, revolutions, or algorithms—the underlying theme is always radical change for the collective.

Would you like a deeper dive into how this current transit might reshape British institutions or culture?

------------------------------

any signs in England itself from 1282 to 1308
Absolutely—England between 1282 and 1308 was far from quiet. While the spotlight often falls on Edward I’s campaigns in Wales and Scotland, there were notable signs of internal tension, legal reform, and social unrest within England itself. Here's a breakdown of key developments:

⚖️ Legal and Institutional Reforms
1285 – Statute of Westminster II: This defined inheritance laws and introduced de donis conditionalibus, which restricted the alienation of entailed estates—an attempt to stabilize noble landholding.

1285 – Statute of Winchester: A major overhaul of law enforcement. It formalized the hue and cry, required towns to maintain arms for defense, and laid groundwork for community policing.

These reforms suggest growing concern over crime, disorder, and the need for centralized control.

🌊 Natural Disasters and Economic Disruption
1286 & 1287 – Storm surges and floods devastated coastal towns like Dunwich, Old Winchelsea, and New Romney. These events reshaped trade routes, destroyed infrastructure, and led to the founding of New Winchelsea on higher ground.

Such upheavals often strain local economies and can fuel discontent, especially when recovery is slow or uneven.

🕵️‍♂️ Political Intrigue and Violence
1283 – Parliament at Shrewsbury Abbey included commoners for the first time, marking a shift toward broader political representation.

1283 – Murder at Exeter Cathedral: A conspiracy involving the Dean and the Mayor led to the killing of an official—hinting at corruption and factionalism even within religious institutions.

🏛️ Cultural and Educational Expansion
Peterhouse College, Cambridge was founded in 1284, and University College, Oxford received statutes in 1280.

These developments reflect a growing intellectual class, which often precedes ideological shifts and challenges to traditional authority.

🧩 The Bigger Picture
While there wasn’t a full-scale rebellion like in Wales or Scotland, England itself was undergoing:

Legal centralization

Economic shocks

Political experimentation

Localized violence and corruption

These are classic Pluto-in-Aquarius themes: transformation of institutions, decentralization of power, and the stirrings of collective consciousness.

Would you like to explore how these changes laid the groundwork for later uprisings like the Peasants’ Revolt or the rise of parliamentary power?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

how did it effect the peasant revolt and what planetary cycles were predominant at the time
The Peasants’ Revolt of 1381 in England was a seismic moment of social upheaval—and the astrological backdrop was just as dramatic. Let’s explore how Pluto’s earlier transit through Aquarius (1286–1308) laid the groundwork, and what planetary cycles were active during the actual revolt.

🔮 Pluto in Aquarius: The Long Shadow
Although Pluto had left Aquarius decades earlier, its transformative fingerprints were still visible:

Legal centralization, land reforms, and early parliamentary structures introduced during Pluto’s Aquarius transit (1286–1308) began to empower collective consciousness.

These reforms planted seeds of resistance to feudal control, which matured over the next century.

By 1381, the Statute of Labourers (1351)—a reactionary law trying to freeze wages after the Black Death—was seen as oppressive, especially by laborers who had begun to taste autonomy.

Pluto’s Aquarian legacy? A slow-burning revolution in how ordinary people saw their rights, labor, and place in society.

🌌 Planetary Cycles Active in 1381
Here’s what was stirring the cosmic pot during the revolt:

1. Uranus in Leo
Uranus, planet of rebellion, was in Leo, opposite Aquarius.

This polarity reflects tension between individual expression (Leo) and collective power (Aquarius).

The revolt itself was led by charismatic figures like Wat Tyler and John Ball, who challenged centralized authority with radical ideas—classic Uranus-in-Leo behavior.

2. Neptune in Aries
Neptune was in Aries, fueling idealism, martyrdom, and spiritual rebellion.

John Ball’s sermons—“When Adam delved and Eve span, who was then the gentleman?”—embodied Neptunian mysticism and Aries defiance.

Neptune in Aries can inspire visionary uprisings, often with religious or moral undertones.

3. Saturn in Cancer
Saturn, the planet of structure and control, was in Cancer, sign of homeland and emotional security.

This placement often triggers conflicts over domestic stability, land rights, and traditional roles.

The revolt was deeply rooted in economic injustice, taxation, and the erosion of peasant security.

🧠 Astrological Summary
The Peasants’ Revolt was catalyzed by:

Pluto’s earlier Aquarian reforms, which destabilized feudal norms.

Uranus in Leo, sparking charismatic rebellion.

Neptune in Aries, fueling spiritual and ideological fervor.

Saturn in Cancer, highlighting the tension between authority and domestic survival.

It wasn’t just a political uprising—it was a cosmic echo of deeper generational shifts in power, identity, and collective will.

What else does Aquarius highlight besides tech?
Saturn leaves the door open for Pluto as it exits Aquarius in March 2023. Fortunately, we’ve built a relationship with Saturn in Aquarius for the past 3 years, setting some of the stage for Pluto’s demolition project. Saturn made us more cautious of the air we breathe in enclosed spaces (fixed air is right) – might Pluto in Aquarius introduce new forms of control or revelatory research?

As I emphasized on the Libra episode of The Astrology Podcast, the air signs have to do with technology and invention: Gemini is the pen, the printing press and language both written and spoken – a distinguishing feature of culture and civilization is dialect and language. Libra, the scale, represents commerce and social mores of civilization. Aquarius, the water-bearer, transports water from the river to the remote village using the technology of the urn. Inherent in the symbolism of Aquarius is a forward-thinking outsider. Adam Elenbaas recently explained the archetype of Saturn so superbly in his Pluto in Aquarius video, Previewing Pluto into Aquarius - Part II: Who is the Water Bearer? Aquarius, while associated with groups, always has one foot in the social circle and one foot on the outside, never fully immersing themselves anywhere. The wallflower holds a key vantage point, objectively analyzing the group dynamics and infrastructural flow. Revolutionary ideas which influence social organization will be on the rise.

This is why Aquarius is so sure of themselves. They see the reality of the matter, and they don’t care how convenient it is for anyone (or even for themselves). The fixed air sign is discerning, melancholic and contemplative yet decisive. We may see a resurgence of stoicism, skepticism and more of a return to scientific thinking.

Due to Aquarius’ views on humanity as a whole, Aquarius has the reputation for being “humanitarian.” While Aquarius is concerned with social structure and possesses an idea of how society should be collectively organized for the “better,” the moral compass of each Aquarian varies. Remember that Aquarius is a detached sign; Pluto in Aquarius doesn’t care about your feelings. We may see the world become more robotic. Literally tho. Tech will only continue to infiltrate our lives. While appearing to make us more connected, however, it dismantles our ability to be present and hold space for the things that make us inherently human.

AI Generated Image of Pluto in Aquarius

Pluto in Aquarius will challenge our ideas of what is even possible, technologically speaking. I often think of Prometheus, the giver of fire (technology) to human beings. Prometheus paid the price. With the conveniences of technology, it’s as if there are always side-effects to consider. Also resonant of Frankenstein, Elon Musk’s Neuralink, a chip which implants within the human brain as a “neural interface computer,” is set to begin its first set of clinical trials by June 2023. This sounds dangerous on multiple levels. Regardless, Pluto in Aquarius is knocking.

As Aquarius is the sign opposite of Leo, where the archetypal Sun king reigns, we may see some interesting themes crop up around leadership. Aquarius is the anti-hero or the anti-king. Aquarius is the shadow-advisor quietly pulling the strings from behind the scenes. Aquarius does not desire the spotlight, but they don’t mind being in control.

Recall that we are in an age of Air – an element corresponding with an emphasis on technology, education, social connection, the movement of people and yes, plagues and pandemics. Jupiter and Saturn will now conjoin in Air signs for the next 200 years and following Pluto’s Aquarius ingress will be Uranus’ Gemini ingress. Uranus spends 7 years in Gemini, and shortly after it leaves, Saturn enters Gemini.

Indeed, there is a TON of air on the menu. What does this mean for us technologically, socially, and even biologically? Pluto in Aquarius will take its time stealthily revealing these answers to us over the next 21 years.

Pluto in Aquarius: Part II - A Historical Evaluation of prior Pluto in Aquarius Eras.

A Pink Floyd Mural - “We Don’t Need No Thought Control”

In Part I of our Pluto in Aquarius series, we set the scene for this incoming 21-year transit and how its likely to show up for us here in the present day. Mostly, we speculated on Pluto in Aquarius’ influence on technology and the role Big Tech will continue to play in our culture. We highlighted some key Aquarian and Plutonian archetypes and reviewed a handful of previous Pluto eras by sign to frame how Pluto in Aquarius may influence the collective strata in the modern age.

Read Pluto in Aquarius: Part I here to catch up!

In Pluto in Aquarius: Part II, we will review previous Pluto in Aquarius sojourns, thus highlighting additional themes we might like to consider for our present journey into this transit.

Let’s get into it!

1777- 1798
Pluto’s most recent visit to Aquarius occurred during an era of revolution among several countries around the world. While the Declaration of Independence was born in the late degrees of Pluto in Capricorn, it’s important to note that the US colonists continued to war with the British through the early years of Pluto’s journey into Aquarius. While we’d prefer our Pluto return to be wrapping up, I’d speculate that it will continue until Pluto reaches 9° Aquarius – Pluto’s position when the Revolutionary War was declared over via the Treaty of Paris.

Reign of Terror

The French Revolution began as a Women's March demanding lower prices of bread (to which Marie Antoinette said “then let them eat cake,” not realizing that you also need flour to bake a cake); this spiraled the movement into class warfare. The French revolution is regarded as a movement whose ideals of equanimity ran away with them – a textbook example of the oppressed becoming the oppressor. It wasn’t enough to level the playing field; heads were going to roll. The shadow side of humanitarian Aquarius is the authoritarian masking its agenda as the greater good. What is deemed humanistic to one grouping may very well be oppressive to another.

The 1780’s and 1790’s are considered a bridge between the Age of Enlightenment (the flourishing of social sciences, individual rights and humanistic morality) and the Industrial Revolution – the flourishing of machinery. On one side of the coin, machines liberated the individual from a more grueling labor; on the other, machinery brought more of a focus on efficiency versus the value of technical skill, laying the foundation for capitalism and new forms of exploitation.

Democracy was the hot, up-and-coming political ideology of this era – a true Aquarian ideal which considers the aims and desires of the group. Haiti, Australia and the Netherlands also claimed their Independence during this period. Liberalism and Partisanship (loyalty to a political party) began to take root for the first time, while abolition movements arose in the United States and Europe. Pluto in Aquarius fixates upon the question of what it means to be humane.

Technologically, scientific breakthroughs abound. The composition of water is first understood, new elements are discovered – and yes, planets. The discovery of Uranus was earth-shattering for both astronomers and astrologers – and certainly for those who had no previous knowledge of planets at all. Imagine the buzz on the street! “Science and technology, ooh!” More inventions such as cast iron, hot-air balloons and steamboats innovated architecture and travel. The small-pox vaccine brought medical breakthroughs while the cotton gin and lithograph innovated labor. The metric system was formalized as a global default measurement system – “fixed-air” indeed!

1532 – 1553
Roughly 500 years ago, Pluto again visited the sign of Aquarius – a sign concerned with societal infrastructure and social ideologies. King Henry breaks from the Roman Catholic church, radically dismantling England’s devotion to a particular doctrine. King Henry facilitates a Protestant reform, establishing the Church of England where his ideologies reign and the heads of traitors roll. Indeed, this encapsulates the tyrannical, uncompromising thread of Aquarian thought control. Note that this is also England’s second Pluto return!

As I mentioned in Pluto Part I, reflexives defense to the new Pluto movement are common. As Protestantism gains popularity, Catholicism resurges within the Reformation – which sought to rebrand Catholicism in a way that was more appealing to people, while also experiencing its own reprising of new Orders, including the Jesuit Order (Ignacio Loyola, a famous devotee amongst them). During this period, Sikhism is also established by Guru Nanak in the Punjab region. We often think of religion as belonging to Pisces, but the organization of peoples around a shared grouping of values or mission statement can be distinctively Aquarian. It’s no wonder the line between cults (Aquarius) and spirituality (Pisces) is often a porous one.

An orignal copy of Copernicus’ “On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres”

In terms of Aquarian technology during this period, we see several “firsts” in printing – mostly of various religious texts in various languages. The Scientific Revolution begins in 1543 with Copernicus’ publishing of “On the Revolutions of the Heavenly Spheres,” which formally pitched the heliocentric model in a cultishly geocentric Europe. True to the outsider archetype of Aquarius, Copernicus dared to challenge the dominating thought. While he wasn’t formally banned by the Vatican until 1616, the birth of the book and its tectonic social ripple are born of Pluto in Aquarius.

We think of Aquarius as humanitarian – but maybe it’s more accurate to say that Aquarius possesses a spectrum of rigid viewpoints about what that means. This period features the Spanish conquest and the transatlantic slave trade, spurring conversations amongst the Europeans about the inherent rights of indigenous peoples. Oppressive conversion of language and religion begins in some regions, while other groups are able to retain autonomy. This seems to parallel the 1780’s when the enslavement of African and Caribbean peoples is banned as a practice in some parts of Europe and the American colonies. Pluto in Aquarius here then leads to the erasure of culture and the oppression of peoples in the name of thought control.

1041 – 1063
The coolest thing that stands out to me about this period: Around July 4th, 1054, a supernova is observed and recorded by several different cultures all around the world. For 23 days, it remained bright enough to be visible in the daylight. This supernova is presently known as the Crab Nebula. What’s so Aquarian? This event eventually helps historians sync the various calendars of the different cultures on all continents, bringing a sort of unification of time-recording systems.

Crab Nebula

The Byzantines reconquer the fortress city of Edessa (modern Turkey), returning it to Christian hands after 400 years of Islamic rule. What’s interesting about this is that we see a mingling of religious iconography during this time. Christian symbols overlay Muslim architecture. We also see The Great Schism – a splitting in ideology which produced the two largest Christian denominations: Roman Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox. Us versus them – a classic Aquarian aim to define a social order.

As for technology, movable type printing is invented in China; also during this time, a military treatise from the Song Dynasty is complied, becoming the first book in history to include formulas for gunpowder and bombs as well as how to build a double-piston pump flamethrower and magnetic compass.

795 – 819

A 13c painting recalling the Abbasid “House of Wisdom” era by Maqamat of Al-Hariri

As an astrologer, this period is naturally my favorite Pluto in Aquarius era. Belonging to the Islamic Golden Age and the intellectual and cultural abundance created by the Abbasid Empire, this era boasted values such as “The ink of a scholar is more holy than the blood of a martyr." While spirituality indeed plays a role in this period, it’s the Aquarian preservation of knowledge which collectively rests upon a pedestal. As Aquarius is the archetypal outsider, it’s interesting to note that foreigners from all over the world were welcomed into the walled city of Baghdad, so long as they brought books or intellectual talent.

Baghdad was essentially a capital of science, astronomy, mathematics, philosophy, medicine, and education –where both Muslim and foreign scholars aimed to accumulate the textual wisdom of the world and translate them into Arabic and Persian. Many classic works of antiquity that would otherwise have been lost were thus preserved – including many of the astrological treatises and texts we treasure today.

Mathematic systems such as the Arabic numerals many of us use today emerged from this period, including the introduction of the number “0,” algebra, and perhaps most interestingly, the word algorithm. As we presently head into a new Pluto in Aquarius era, “the algorithm” is largely considered akin to a tech-God entity and will play a highly distinctive role in this period.

305 – 330
One of the other reasons we observe a strong thread of Christianity throughout these Pluto in Aquarius periods may also have to do with the prominence of Constantine the Great during this period. He rules as Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire (306-337) for the entire stretch of Pluto’s Aquarius sojourn. During his reign, he formally establishes and ensures the spread of Christianity throughout the Roman Empire, which was largely polytheistic at the time. In fixed air fashion, Constantine wanted to make sure everyone was on the same page. He frequently held councils of theologians to iron out the kinks in Christian doctrine, as well as commission new copies of Bibles (copied by hand at that time). He additionally financed the construction of churches all throughout the Holy Roman Empire.

Eerie scupture of Constantine the Great, the first Christian Emporer of Rome

Constantine also supports this shift from a largely polytheistic to monotheistic worldview by rebranding Pagan celebrations into Christian rites. The historically notable Council of Nicea, is held in 325 AD, which orders the celebration of Easter and establishes significant doctrines. So if you ever wondered why Easter is officially scheduled on the first Sunday after the first Full Moon after the vernal equinox, now you know why.

What is not as well documented is the Plutonian counter-resistance to the Aquarian thought-control. However, there is ample mention in the Old Testament around the persecution of Goddess worshiping peoples and the destruction of their idols and temples of devotion.

Common Threads:
Throughout these periods, we see a definite emphasis on Aquarian “fixed-air” ideology. Whether its an intellectual movement, a societal movement or a divisive disagreement on how to interpret the Bible – we see how an ideology can have a sweeping, dominating effect on the way a society organizes. We can identify themes of loyalty to a specific viewpoint; look no further than democracy, partisanship, humanitarian causes and the value or preserving knowledge. We also see a dedication to scientific advancement either flourishing or budding during these periods. With Pluto, we must also acknowledge the authoritarian themes of thought-control and the deliberate shaping of belief or worldview. It’s both interesting and scary to consider how technology (and the algorithm) may very well embody the tyrannical Pluto in Aquarius thought-controlling entity.

My hope is that we can borrow an important thread from the Abbasid period: This Pluto in Aquarius era highlights the potential of the human mind as a source of empowerment, agency and humanitarian endeavors which continue to benefit humanity to the present day. As we move into a time where AI continues to replace and amaze us, may we remember the potency of our own minds and collectively return to value accessible educational opportunities for all.

love this!!! I have been feeling the energy shift since finding human design - the institutions that no one is happy with but people have decided are impossible to change WILL change. Think banking, education, hospitals - wasted tax dollars and 2 party politic walls will come down. I feel a shift inward, a return to the self. In helping each other understand ourselves, we will change the world, the more we choose to believe God/the universe is within us, and the less we focus on the tiny differences across religion (something we invented lol), the more we humanity and people connecting with people in real ways. I sincerely believe that the businesses designed by those who put humanity first will be most successful. I am personally tired of the blind following and low vibrations - we invented the rules. they don't work for us anymore, so let's come together and change them. I feel like the left/democrats of today have been extremely oppressive - tech (perhaps) had accelerated group think. It's socially acceptable to discuss politics if you hate Trump, it was not acceptable to support him. The world knows what this group is AGAINST - the "isms" (ironically perpetuating the divisiveness they claim to hate lol), time to put energy into things we are FOR. I hope we innovate in a way that brings people together ....Pluto will dip back in Capricorn this October to tie up the loose ends - so this election will be extremely interesting. Will the oppressors succeed? or will individual freedom and love for the universe shine through.... choosing to trust the right decision will unfold! no matter what I think that is today

No mention of Charlemagne reign of terror upon the Pagan Saxons in 785 at Verden? 4500 people killed for worshiping as they saw right in their hearts.

In astrology, a conjunction between Pluto and the hypothetical Uranian planet Vulcanus (sometimes spelled "Vulcanos") is a powerful and intense aspect, blending Pluto's transformative, deep, and compulsive energy with Vulcanus' raw, explosive force. Since Vulcanus is a trans-Neptunian point used in Uranian astrology, this interpretation combines traditional astrological views of Pluto with Uranian principles for Vulcanus.
Key Meanings
Pluto: Represents transformation, power, control, the subconscious, and themes of death and rebirth. It drives profound change and psychological depth.

Vulcanus: Symbolizes immense strength, vitality, and eruptive energy, often associated with overwhelming force or influence.

Conjunction: The energies merge, intensifying their combined effects.

In a Natal Chart
Powerful Presence: Individuals with this aspect may exude magnetic intensity and wield significant influence, often unconsciously.

Transformative Force: They may catalyze major changes in their own lives or others’, sometimes through intense or forceful means.

SELENA, THE WHITE MOON, POSITIONED IN GEMINI

This person understands others. Another quality, which also helps to form a positive karma is lightness. This person is always eager to learn, to discover, to perceive the surrounding world, to communicate, and to share perception. All this helps to get out of the destiny’s trap, difficult situations and discriminate between good and bad, useful and useless. It is essential to preserve objectivity, the truth search, and impersonality. All this will make the world a fertile land, which will provide the basis for the welfare and existence of this person. Selena in Gemini indicates the positive karma of a mediator.
The air element, lightness, and wings are luring a person, whose Selena is in Gemini. This person is willing to fly in a direct and indirect sense! These persons are inventors and world improvers. They are ‘Icaruses’ by nature. They feel the open space and the laws of aerodynamics. All this reflects the spirit of bicycles, roller-skates, trains, airplanes, air balloons, cars, sailing boats, windsurfing boards, and helicopters. These persons admire devices which make this world more colorful, lighter, and faster…
These persons often have a special relation to birds. A person whose Selena is in Gemini adorns the world with his lightness and purity. His presence brings a new perspective to things. It would be forgivable if he became a tireless chatterer or a news bringer. God entitled him to pass news. This is his bright karma. Selena in Gemini reflects occupations linked to post, telephone, media, roads, communication, news transmission, mediation, trade, and primary education. Unconquerable curiosity is also linked to the bright side of Gemini.
This person will lose the protection of Selena if he avoids truth, distorts information, gives false promises or oaths, violates agreements, or uses abusive language. It is important that this person developed rational mind, logics, and preserved the learner’s position. The following occupations are advisable: courier, postman, scientist, journalist, writer, educator, linguist, translator, pilot, and tradesman. Crafts, numerology, informatics, mathematical theories, geometry, tricks may also provide lots of joy and benefit if intellect is sufficiently developed, if the person is wise enough not to deify numbers and not to become a charlatan. It is especially important to avoid these extremes, because they express Lilith, the Black Moon.
Fresh air and wind may provide you with pleasure and support. Those who have strong Selena may be willing to live somewhere high or climb and swing on a tree. Bright blue, yellow, white, bright green, orange, and various combinations of transparent colors and light forms reflect Selena in Gemini. Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini. Mercury’s exaltation place is also here. Therefore Selena in Gemini reveals the developed control of Mercury’s potential.
The United States of America, Greece, Cyprus, and Armenia are the most vivid countries of Gemini.

broader turning point
In Uranian astrology, the Meridian (often denoted as "ME" in shorthand) plays a significant role, particularly in mundane astrology, which focuses on world events, nations, and collective phenomena rather than individual charts. The Meridian is essentially the Midheaven (MC) in a chart, but its interpretation in the Uranian system diverges from traditional astrology, emphasizing a deeper, more personal and soul-oriented significance that can be applied to collective contexts in mundane work.
Meridian in Uranian Astrology
The Meridian represents the "I," the "me," or the "my" — a snapshot of consciousness or the essence of identity, as described by Alfred Witte, the founder of the Uranian system. Unlike traditional astrology, where the Midheaven is primarily associated with career, public standing, or external reputation, in Uranian astrology, the Meridian is seen as the soul’s purpose or core essence. It reflects what an entity (whether an individual, event, or nation) truly is at its deepest level, independent of external recognition or societal roles. It’s about inner alignment and the authentic driving force behind actions.
Meridian in Mundane Astrology
In mundane astrology, which deals with the charts of nations, events, or global trends, the Meridian signifies the intrinsic identity or soul of the collective entity being analyzed. For example:
For a Nation: The Meridian in a country’s chart (e.g., based on its founding date) might represent the nation’s core essence or purpose — its "soul mission" or what it fundamentally stands for beyond its political or economic facade. It could indicate the underlying motivations or consciousness that shape its historical trajectory.

For an Event: In an event chart (like an election, disaster, or significant global moment), the Meridian highlights the event’s essential meaning or the deeper "why" behind its occurrence, stripped of superficial appearances.

Planetary Pictures: The Meridian is often analyzed in combination with other planets or points via midpoints (a key feature of Uranian astrology). For instance:
Meridian/Mercury (ME/ME): Could signify "the nation’s thoughts" or how a collective communicates its identity.

Meridian/Moon (ME/MO): Might reflect "the people’s emotions" or the emotional undercurrent of a society.

Meridian/Sun (ME/SO): Could indicate "the vitality of the collective" or the life force driving a nation or event.

Practical Application with the 90-Degree Dial
In Uranian mundane astrology, the 90-degree dial is frequently used to analyze the Meridian and its midpoints. The dial compresses the 360-degree zodiac into 90 degrees, making it easier to spot symmetrical patterns and relationships. The Meridian’s position on the dial (e.g., 56° for 26° Taurus or 62° for 2° Gemini, as calculated earlier) is compared to other planetary positions or transits to identify active energies. For instance, if a transiting planet aligns with the Meridian or a Meridian midpoint in a nation’s chart, it might signal a moment when the nation’s core identity or purpose is activated or challenged.
Mundane Significance
In the context of mundane astrology, the Meridian can reveal:
Collective Consciousness: How a society perceives itself at its deepest level.

Turning Points: Moments when a nation or event aligns with its true essence, often marked by significant shifts or revelations.

Energetic Vibration: The subtle, underlying frequency that drives collective behavior, distinct from outward policies or propaganda.

For example, in the chart of a country experiencing a major political upheaval, the Meridian and its midpoints might show whether the event aligns with the nation’s soul purpose (e.g., a push for freedom if tied to Uranus) or a betrayal of it (e.g., repression if tied to Saturn/Pluto).
Summary
In Uranian mundane astrology, the Meridian signifies the soul or essential identity of a collective entity — be it a nation, event, or global phenomenon. It transcends external appearances, focusing on the inner "I" or consciousness that defines the entity’s existence. Through midpoints and the 90-degree dial, it offers a precise tool to uncover the deeper meaning and energetic patterns shaping worldly affairs.
The Moon’s Nodes/Pluto double link both by transit and natally, confirms the key result of my research into the Moon’s Nodes ie that the most fated time in anyone’s life is brought by the Moon’s Nodes/Pluto combination.” To which astrologer Cindy Chapelle replied: “Interesting, Anne, Have you read Jeffrey Wolf Green’s work on Pluto and the Nodes?”

I replied thus: “Yes, a very long time ago. What I did was test out the Nodal theories (ie re the Moon’s Nodes) of various people in the actual realities of people’s everyday lives. You can download the research free from my blogs, or via astro.com where ‘The Moon’s Nodes in Action’ was featured last year.”

The above exchange, coming as it does just as I was planning to post a series on the conclusions of my Moon’s Nodes research on this blog, has prompted me to offer a taster, which is highly relevant to the symbolic interplay between David Cameron’s horoscope, the Brexit announcement, and the position of the North Node at this fated moment both in David Cameron’s life and the life of the UK. Here it is, edited from pp 156 and 157:

The Moon's Nodes in Action
The Moon’s Nodes in Action

“…My research has confirmed both the traditional view of the Nodes’ connection with birth, death and rebirth, and my own impressions gained over many years’ practice…

…It appears that some lives are more touched by the hand of Fate than others. It seems that strong outer planet links, especially Pluto’s conjunctions or squares to the natal Nodal axis, and strong prevailing major patterns eg Uranus conjunct Pluto opposite Saturn conjunct Chiron linked to the Nodes, bring some people a more challenging and Fate-directed life than others. Mary Shelley’s chart is a very good example of this, with Uranus, dispositor of Pluto conjunct MC, conjunct her Sun and square her Nodal axis.

I have distinguished between minor and major Nodal activity in transits and progressions, and demonstrated that the major effect is what appears to be present when turning points occur. This would suggest that in contemplating the unfolding picture of a person’s life, the combination of Nodal activity with the foreground presence of outer planets, especially Pluto, points out that something really special is going on and should be carefully noted….

…it is important to pay particular attention to that person’s natal Nodal pattern and the current Nodal/eclipse picture. The client is then likely to be bringing matters of a life-changing nature to us for discussion, which offers us roles both as observers and midwives; human agents in the here-and-now of those mysterious ‘watchers by the threshold‘ whose numinous presence in our lives is symbolically represented by the Moon’s Nodes in Action…”

The most cursory of glances at Cameron’s chart at the time of the Brexit announcement vividly illustrates the validity of those conclusions, from a study conducted in the 1990s (when Cameron would not have been long out of university). There are multiple Pluto/Moon’s Node links, both natally and by transit.

It is also worth noting, chillingly, that a prominent, often angular Jupiter has been identified in the horoscopes of many Nazi leaders – it is also rising, conjunct Mars, in Tony Blair’s chart. Transiting Jupiter in the Brexit/Cameron biwheel is rising in the Twelfth House, conjunct the transiting North Node which itself is conjunct Cameron’s natal Pluto/Uranus.

This Jupiterian significator has been associated with prominent people, often ideologues, who are not only convinced (often against the advice of better informed and more pragmatic people) of their own rightness – but who are also prone to pushing their luck and thinking that they can get away with it.

The ancient Greeks had a word for this: hubris, the giving of god-like attributes to oneself. This usually led to a fall from great heights. Perhaps Mr Cameron should have read the myth of Icarus, who flew too close to the sun, and thought twice about calling that referendum which has split our country apart…

Moon-Pluto

Mar. 16th, 2025 08:43 am
a Moon square Pluto aspect carries intense, transformative, and often disruptive energy. The Moon represents the public, emotions, the masses, and the general mood, while Pluto signifies power, control, upheaval, and deep-seated change. A square (90-degree angle) indicates tension, conflict, or a challenging dynamic that demands resolution. Let’s break it down:
Moon Square Pluto in a Mundane Chart
General Meaning:
Emotional Intensity: The public mood (Moon) is likely charged with deep, primal emotions—fear, obsession, anger, or a sense of crisis. Pluto’s influence can make these feelings compulsive or extreme, amplifying collective anxiety or unrest.

Power Struggles: This aspect often points to a clash between the people (Moon) and structures of power or control (Pluto)—think governments, institutions, or hidden forces. The square suggests resistance or friction, possibly manifesting as protests, scandals, or power plays coming to light.

Transformation Through Crisis: Pluto doesn’t mess around—it digs up what’s buried. Paired with the Moon, this could indicate a collective purging or awakening, often triggered by something unsettling like a disaster, economic shift, or exposure of corruption. The square means it won’t be comfortable, but it can lead to profound change.

Manipulation of the Masses: Pluto can represent shadowy influences, so there’s a risk of the public being swayed or controlled through fear, propaganda, or emotional triggers. The square suggests the people might push back—or double down.

Possible Manifestations:
Social Upheaval: Historically, Moon-Pluto aspects in mundane charts can coincide with periods of unrest, riots, or revolutionary fervor. The square adds a sense of urgency or breaking point.

Natural or Man-Made Crises: Pluto’s transformative edge might link to events like earthquakes, floods, or environmental disasters (Moon rules the natural world), or human-driven crises like financial collapses or political coups.

Public Exposure: Secrets (Pluto) affecting the populace (Moon) could surface—think whistleblowers, leaks, or revelations that stir collective outrage or paranoia.

Shifts in National Mood: If this is in a country’s chart or an ingress (like a New Moon or Aries Ingress), it might reflect a period where the "soul" of the nation feels tested or reshaped.

Signs and Houses Matter:
The interpretation shifts depending on the signs and houses involved. For example:
Moon in Cancer square Pluto in Libra: The public’s need for security clashes with relational or legal power struggles—perhaps a nation’s identity versus international pressure.

Moon in 4th house square Pluto in 7th: Tensions between homeland issues (4th) and foreign alliances or enemies (7th).

Moon in Capricorn square Pluto in Aries: A conservative, structural mood (Capricorn) resists or is overturned by aggressive, radical change (Aries).

Timing and Context:
In mundane astrology, this aspect’s effects are often tied to transits, ingresses, or event charts (e.g., an election, disaster, or founding moment). If it’s active now (March 16, 2025), it could reflect current global or local tensions. Pluto’s in Aquarius as of early 2025, so a square to the Moon in Taurus, Scorpio, or Leo could tie into tech-driven upheaval, economic fears, or collective identity crises.

explore historical examples

Let’s explore some historical examples where Moon square Pluto in mundane astrology might have played a role. Mundane astrologers often analyze charts like national foundings, lunar phases, Aries Ingresses, or specific events to interpret collective phenomena. Since exact historical transit data requires precise charts, I’ll hypothesize based on known events and typical Moon-Pluto dynamics, focusing on moments of public upheaval, power struggles, or transformation that align with this aspect’s energy. I’ll also assume transits or event charts as plausible contexts, given the square’s short-lived but intense influence (the Moon moves quickly, so its aspects peak within hours or days).
1. The French Revolution – Storming of the Bastille (July 14, 1789)
Context: The storming of the Bastille marked a turning point in the French Revolution, driven by mass unrest (Moon) against monarchical power (Pluto). The people’s emotions erupted into violence, dismantling old structures.

Plausible Astrology: While exact transit data varies by chart, Pluto was in Aquarius (revolutionary change) from 1778–1798. The Moon, moving daily, could have squared Pluto during this period, especially near key events. A Cancer Moon (the masses, homeland) squaring Pluto in Aquarius fits—public sentiment clashing with systemic transformation.

Moon Square Pluto Vibe: The square reflects the explosive tension between the populace’s rage and the entrenched elite, leading to a radical shift. Pluto’s upheaval forced a purge of the old regime, catalyzed by the Moon’s emotional fervor.

2. The Wall Street Crash (October 24–29, 1929)
Context: "Black Tuesday" (October 29) saw the stock market collapse, triggering the Great Depression. Public panic (Moon) met economic power structures (Pluto) crumbling or manipulating the fallout.

Plausible Astrology: Pluto was in Cancer (1929–1937), tied to home, security, and deep transformation. A Moon in Libra (markets, balance) or Aries (aggression, sudden action) squaring Pluto could symbolize the public’s shattered trust clashing with hidden financial forces. On October 29, the Moon was in Virgo, but earlier that week, it could’ve squared Pluto from Gemini or Sagittarius.

Moon Square Pluto Vibe: The square captures the intense fear and loss of stability (Moon) confronting a deeper economic reckoning (Pluto). Rumors of insider manipulation and mass hysteria align with Pluto’s shadowy control.

3. The Chernobyl Disaster (April 26, 1986)
Context: The nuclear meltdown at Chernobyl was a technological catastrophe that shook public trust (Moon) and exposed governmental secrecy and power (Pluto). It led to widespread fear and long-term transformation.

Plausible Astrology: Pluto was in Scorpio (1983–1995), a sign of death, rebirth, and hidden forces. The Moon was in Scorpio on April 26, conjunct Pluto, but a square could’ve occurred days prior (e.g., Moon in Leo or Aquarius). A Leo Moon (public drama) squaring Pluto in Scorpio fits the narrative of a proud system undone by its own hubris.

Moon Square Pluto Vibe: The square reflects the public’s emotional shock and outrage (Moon) versus the concealed danger and authoritarian cover-up (Pluto). The disaster forced a reevaluation of nuclear power globally.

4. Arab Spring – Tunisian Revolution (December 17, 2010 – January 14, 2011)
Context: The self-immolation of Mohamed Bouazizi on December 17, 2010, sparked protests in Tunisia, igniting the Arab Spring. Public fury (Moon) toppled oppressive regimes (Pluto).

Plausible Astrology: Pluto was in Capricorn (2008–2023), symbolizing structural power and its collapse. On December 17, the Moon was in Taurus, not squaring Pluto directly, but by January 4–5, 2011 (as protests escalated), a Libra Moon squared Pluto in Capricorn, amplifying the clash between people’s need for stability (Moon) and corrupt authority (Pluto).

Moon Square Pluto Vibe: The square mirrors the masses’ emotional breaking point (Moon) against entrenched dictatorships (Pluto), leading to a transformative wave across the region.

Patterns Across Examples:
Public vs. Power: Each case shows the Moon (the people, emotions) in tense conflict with Pluto (control, transformation), often resulting in a tipping point.

Crisis as Catalyst: The square’s friction tends to erupt in visible events—riots, crashes, disasters—that force deep change.

Emotional Extremes: Fear, anger, or desperation (Moon) meet Pluto’s intensity, whether through destruction or revelation.

Applying to March 16, 2025:
Today, Pluto’s in Aquarius (tech, society, rebellion), so a Moon square Pluto might involve public backlash against AI, surveillance, or global systems. A Moon in Taurus (security, resources) squaring Pluto could signal economic protests, or a Scorpio Moon might tie to hidden scandals breaking public trust. Historical parallels suggest watching for sudden, emotionally charged events that challenge power structures.
These examples are speculative without exact charts, but they illustrate Moon square Pluto’s mundane footprint. Want me to dig into a specific event or current transit further?

positions on April 14–15, 1912:
Pluto: In Gemini at approximately 27° (moving slowly, retrograde soon after). Gemini ties to communication, travel, and technology—fitting for a ship reliant on wireless signals and engineering.

Moon: On April 14, the Moon was in Pisces, moving toward Aries. By 11:40 PM ship’s time (adjusted to GMT, around 2:40 AM April 15), the Moon was at 29° Pisces, just shy of Aries. It entered Aries shortly after, around 3–4 AM GMT.

Was There a Moon Square Pluto?
A square requires a 90° angle (with an orb of ~8–10° in mundane astrology). Pluto at 27° Gemini means the Moon would need to be near 27° Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Gemini.

At 29° Pisces, the Moon was about 62° from Pluto in Gemini (a sextile, not a square). Earlier that day, when the Moon was around 20–25° Pisces, it was closer to a sextile (60°) but never reached a precise square.

By the time the ship sank (2:20 AM, April 15), the Moon entered Aries, shifting the angle further from a square (approaching 90° but moving away from Pluto’s degree).

Conclusion: Moon square Pluto wasn’t exact during the Titanic’s collision or sinking. The Moon’s sextile to Pluto (within orb) suggests a subtler connection—perhaps an undercurrent of transformation tied to communication failures (Gemini Pluto) and collective vulnerability (Pisces Moon). However, let’s explore the chart more broadly to see if the Moon-Pluto tension still resonates.
Titanic Event Chart (April 14, 1912, 11:40 PM, Ship’s Time)
Moon in Pisces (29°): In the 8th house (death, transformation) if we set the chart for the ship’s location. Pisces is emotional, sacrificial, and tied to the sea—a haunting fit for mass loss in the ocean.

Pluto in Gemini (27°): Likely in the 10th house (public reputation, authority). The "unsinkable" myth (Pluto’s hubris) and radio missteps (Gemini) were exposed.

Other Aspects:
Moon conjunct Uranus in Aries (0°) shortly after the sinking—sudden, shocking disruption.

Pluto square Sun in Aries (24°)—a clash between ego/authority (Sun) and hidden flaws (Pluto), exact within days.

Saturn in Taurus (1°) near the Ascendant—cold, restrictive reality (iceberg) grounding the ship’s fate.

Moon-Pluto Dynamics (Even Without a Square):
Though not a square, the Moon and Pluto still interacted via the collective mood and power themes:
Public Emotion vs. Power’s Fall: The Moon in Pisces (grief, helplessness) reflects the passengers’ and world’s reaction, while Pluto in Gemini (technology, communication) points to the overconfidence in the ship’s design and the ignored iceberg warnings.

Transformative Shock: Pluto’s presence in the 10th (if charted) suggests a toppling of perceived invincibility, mirrored by the Moon’s 8th-house plunge into loss. The sextile hints at a fated link—subtle but inevitable.

Near-Square Tension: Earlier on April 14, the Moon at 20–25° Pisces was within 2–7° of a square to Pluto (depending on orb). This could’ve set an emotional undercurrent of unease, peaking later with Uranus.

Historical Resonance with Moon Square Pluto
While not exact, the Titanic disaster echoes Moon square Pluto’s mundane signature:
Emotional Crisis: The Moon in Pisces captured the public’s horror and mourning, amplified by the sheer scale of loss (over 1,500 deaths).

Power Exposed: Pluto in Gemini revealed the fragility of human arrogance—flawed engineering, inadequate lifeboats, and communication breakdowns (e.g., the Californian’s ignored signals).

Transformation: Like a Moon-Pluto square, it forced a reckoning—new safety laws, international ice patrols—born from crisis.

Why It Feels Like a Square
Even without an exact square, the event’s intensity mimics Moon square Pluto’s hallmarks: a public (Moon) blindsided by a deeper, systemic failure (Pluto), with emotional upheaval clashing against power’s collapse. The sextile and other aspects (Sun square Pluto, Moon conjunct Uranus) amplified this vibe.
If you’re looking for a stricter Moon square Pluto example, we could pivot to another event (like the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, where the Moon squared Pluto more closely). But for Titanic, the resonance is thematic rather than precise. What do you think—does this fit the energy you’re exploring?
pluto is opposite zeus so what should we expects in uranian astrology

In Uranian astrology, the opposition between Pluto and Zeus is a dynamic and potent aspect that brings together two powerful forces. To understand what to expect, let’s break it down based on their symbolic meanings within this system and the nature of an opposition.
Pluto, though a traditional planet, carries intense energy in Uranian astrology, representing transformation, power, the unconscious, and deep, often hidden forces that drive change. It’s associated with destruction and rebirth, exposing what lies beneath the surface and compelling profound shifts.
Zeus, one of the eight hypothetical Transneptunian planets in Uranian astrology, embodies directed energy, leadership, creativity, and virility. It’s a symbol of ambition, authority, and the ability to channel power into action—think of it as a fiery, proactive force that seeks to lead and manifest.
An opposition in astrology creates a tension or polarity between two energies, often manifesting as an external challenge or an internal struggle that demands integration or resolution. When Pluto opposes Zeus, you’re looking at a clash between raw transformative power and focused, commanding energy. Here’s what you might expect:
Intense Power Struggles: This aspect could indicate a period where leadership or authority (Zeus) is challenged by deeper, uncontrollable forces (Pluto). You might encounter situations where your ability to direct or control is tested by circumstances or people that force you to confront hidden weaknesses or suppressed desires.

Creative Transformation: Zeus’s creative drive paired with Pluto’s transformative energy suggests a potential for breakthroughs—possibly through destruction of old patterns. Expect a push to reinvent yourself or your projects, but it might come with resistance or a need to let go of what no longer serves you.

Heightened Ambition vs. Inner Conflict: Zeus wants to achieve and lead, but Pluto might dredge up unconscious fears, obsessions, or power dynamics that complicate your goals. This could feel like an internal tug-of-war between your drive to succeed and the need to face deeper truths.

Sudden Shifts in Direction: Oppositions often bring awareness through external events. You might see unexpected changes in areas tied to leadership, authority, or personal power—perhaps a career shake-up, a confrontation with a figure of control, or a radical redirection of your energy.

Catalytic Energy: This aspect is like a lightning rod—it can ignite significant action or revelation. If you harness it, you could channel this tension into something groundbreaking, using Pluto’s depth to fuel Zeus’s vision.

In Uranian astrology, midpoints aren’t just passive—they’re dynamic. They’re often interpreted as a synthesis of the two planets’ energies, and when another planet transits or sits on that midpoint, it triggers or channels that synthesis into action or awareness.
How Midpoints Work with an Opposition
With Pluto opposite Zeus, the midpoint between them is especially significant because oppositions already create a natural tension. The midpoint acts as a fulcrum—the balancing point where the push-pull of the opposition can manifest most directly. Any planet or point hitting this midpoint will “light it up,” blending its own energy with the Pluto-Zeus dynamic.
For Pluto (transformation, power, depth) opposing Zeus (leadership, directed energy, ambition), their midpoint might represent:
The tension between control and surrender.

The fusion of deep change with purposeful action.

A vulnerable spot where power struggles or creative breakthroughs emerge.

Midpoint Impacts: What to Expect

When a planet transits or occupies the Pluto/Zeus midpoint, it acts like a catalyst, coloring the opposition’s expression. Here’s how it might play out, depending on the activating planet:

Sun at the Midpoint: The Sun brings vitality and identity into the mix. You might feel a surge of personal power or a need to assert yourself as a leader (Zeus), but Pluto’s influence could force you to confront your shadow—ego conflicts or a transformative crisis of self could arise.

Moon at the Midpoint: The Moon ties in emotions and instincts. This could heighten sensitivity to power dynamics or spark an intuitive push to transform (Pluto) how you lead or create (Zeus). Emotional outbursts or a deep need for control might surface.

Mars at the Midpoint: Mars adds aggression and drive. This could ignite the Zeus ambition into overdrive, but Pluto might channel it into obsessive or destructive tendencies. Expect intense action—potentially a fight for dominance or a bold, transformative move.

Saturn at the Midpoint: Saturn brings structure and limitation. It might feel like the Pluto-Zeus tension gets blocked or tested by reality—leadership ambitions (Zeus) could face a harsh reckoning (Pluto), forcing discipline or a slow, transformative rebuild.

Uranus at the Midpoint: Given Uranian astrology’s emphasis on this planet, Uranus here could electrify the midpoint with sudden change or genius. The Pluto-Zeus opposition might erupt into radical innovation or an unexpected power shift—disruptive but potentially liberating.

Transiting Planet: If a current transit (e.g., Jupiter on March 11, 2025) hits the Pluto/Zeus midpoint, it’ll amplify the effect based on its nature. Jupiter might expand the opposition’s scope—big power plays or overreaching ambition meeting a transformative backlash.

Practical Effects
The midpoint’s activation doesn’t just stay abstract—it shows up in real life. With Pluto opposite Zeus, if a planet hits their midpoint, you might see:
Events: A sudden challenge to your authority (Zeus) that forces deep change (Pluto).

Inner Shifts: A realization where your drive to lead (Zeus) meets an undeniable need to release old baggage (Pluto).

Relationships: Someone embodying one energy (e.g., a controlling Pluto figure) clashing with your Zeus-like assertiveness, with the midpoint acting as the battleground.

How to Find and Use Midpoints
In practice, Uranian astrologers use a 360° dial or software to pinpoint midpoints exactly, often within a tight orb (1-2°). If you’ve got a natal chart or transit data, you’d look at where Pluto and Zeus sit, calculate their midpoint, and check what’s currently aspecting it. Even without specifics here, the concept suggests that the Pluto-Zeus opposition’s intensity peaks when something triggers their midpoint—turning tension into action.
Broader Context
On a collective level (if this is a transit), a Pluto-Zeus midpoint activated by, say, a fast-moving planet like Mercury could spark news cycles about power (Pluto) and leadership (Zeus)—think scandals or bold initiatives. Individually, it’s about where this tension lands in your chart (houses, signs) and what’s hitting that midpoint now.
In short, midpoints amplify and focus the Pluto-Zeus opposition. Expect the unexpected when they’re activated—transformation and ambition collide harder, and the outcome depends on how you (or the world) navigate the trigger.

Pluto at 0° Aquarius: Context
Pluto’s Transit: Pluto entered Aquarius on March 23, 2023, dipped back into Capricorn (June 11, 2023-January 20, 2024), returned briefly, then settled into Aquarius for good on November 19, 2024. It hit 0° Aquarius precisely around late 2024-early 2025 and will linger near this degree into mid-2025 due to its slow pace (about 1-2 degrees per year) and retrogrades (e.g., May 4-October 14, 2025, from ~2° back to ~0°).

Duration in Aquarius: Pluto stays in Aquarius until March 8, 2043—nearly 20 years—mirroring the Jupiter-Saturn cycle’s span. At 0°, it’s the opening act.

Pluto’s Nature: Pluto governs transformation, power, destruction, and rebirth—tearing down to rebuild. In Aquarius, it targets collective systems, technology, freedom, and societal structures (Uranus’ domain, with Saturn’s echo).

Pluto’s Influence at 0° Aquarius in 2025
Pluto at 0° Aquarius acts as a cosmic intensifier, reactivating the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction’s seed from 2020. Here’s how it’s unfolding:
1. Transformation of the 2020 Seed
Jupiter-Saturn Recap: The 2020 conjunction at 0°29' Aquarius launched an Air-era vision—tech-driven progress (Jupiter) within structured limits (Saturn). Think vaccines, digital economies, and reform calls.

Pluto’s Role: Pluto digs into this foundation, exposing weaknesses and forcing evolution. It’s not gentle—it’s a power surge or a purge. What began as hope (Jupiter) and rules (Saturn) now faces a reckoning—either deepening into a new order or collapsing under scrutiny.

Mundane Impact:
Tech: The digital leaps of 2020 (remote work, crypto) meet Pluto’s test—centralized systems (e.g., Big Tech) could erode as decentralized alternatives (blockchain, AI autonomy) surge. X posts in early 2025 hint at debates over data ownership—Pluto’s power grab.

Society: 2020’s social movements (BLM, climate) get radicalized—Pluto in Aquarius pushes for systemic overhaul, not just tweaks. Think grassroots turning militant or governments doubling down with surveillance (Saturn’s shadow).

Economy: Pluto could crash-test 2020’s financial experiments—crypto might boom or bust, exposing power imbalances (e.g., wealth hoarding vs. universal income trials).

2. Power Dynamics Redefined
Aquarius’ Collective Focus: Pluto here shifts power from hierarchies (Capricorn, where it was 2008-2024) to networks—communities, tech grids, or global coalitions. At 0°, it’s raw—unformed but forceful.

Mundane Impact:
Control Battles: Governments vs. citizens, corporations vs. hackers—Pluto at 0° Aquarius sparks a tug-of-war. Think cyberattacks (Uranus) exposing state secrets or citizen uprisings against 2020-era policies (e.g., vaccine mandates revisited).

New Elites: Pluto births power players—2025 might crown a tech titan or activist as the “king” of this shift, echoing Leo’s crowned figure.

Example: By June 2025, a global entity (UN? A tech consortium?) could unveil a radical power structure—say, a digital ID system—rooted in 2020’s seeds but Pluto-fueled.

3. Destruction and Rebirth
Pluto’s Process: It destroys what’s rotten to build anew. At 0° Aquarius, it targets outdated Aquarian ideals—fake freedom, shallow innovation—planted in 2020.

Mundane Impact:
Old Systems Fall: Social media monopolies (e.g., Meta) might fracture as Pluto empowers alternatives—X could evolve or a rival rise.

New Systems Rise: Pluto rebirths 2020’s tech—AI could leap to autonomy, or green energy (from 2020’s climate push) hits a breakthrough (e.g., fusion power).

Chaos as Catalyst: Expect upheaval—protests, outages, or economic shocks—clearing space. X chatter in March 2025 might flag a “reset” vibe.

4. Acceleration of Aquarius Themes
0° Purity: At this degree, Pluto channels Aquarius’ essence unfiltered—freedom, innovation, detachment. It’s a pressure cooker for the Jupiter-Saturn vision.

Mundane Impact:
Freedom Wars: Pluto intensifies 2020’s liberty debates—privacy vs. control (e.g., digital surveillance laws).

Tech Revolution: Uranus’ influence (Aquarius’ ruler) meets Pluto’s depth—think quantum computing or space colonization hitting milestones by late 2025.

Community Power: Pluto in Aquarius empowers the collective—crowdsourcing could outpace institutions (e.g., citizen-led climate fixes).

Bardon and Leo’s Lens on Pluto at 0° Aquarius
Franz Bardon
Interpretation: “The ignition of the electric spark of universal mind.”

Pluto’s Influence: Bardon would see Pluto as the cosmic amplifier—turning the 2020 spark into a thunderbolt. It’s not just mental—it’s a transformative force, shattering old consciousness (Capricorn’s limits) for a universal leap. Pluto’s depth adds intensity—think a collective psyche shift, felt not seen.

2025 Action: A subtle but profound change—AI mimicking human thought, or a global “awakening” (e.g., mass rejection of centralized power). Bardon might say Pluto’s electrifying the air, birthing a new mental plane.

Alan Leo
Symbol: “A man standing upon a mountain, a crown upon his head, and a sword in his hand.”

Pluto’s Influence: Leo would frame Pluto as the ultimate test of this king—does the crown hold, or does the sword falter? Pluto challenges the 2020 conjunction’s authority—transforming the leader (or system) into something unshakable or toppling it entirely. It’s conquest reborn.

2025 Action: A visible power shift—a figure or policy from 2020 (e.g., a tech CEO, a climate law) faces Pluto’s forge—emerging stronger or broken. Think a “crowned” innovator (Musk?) wielding Pluto’s sword.

Comparison
Bardon: Pluto’s influence is esoteric—a deep, unseen pulse reshaping humanity’s mind.

Leo: It’s tangible—a crowned ideal from 2020 now battles for supremacy.

Overlap: Both see Pluto at 0° Aquarius as a catalyst—Bardon’s spark ignites, Leo’s king fights.

Pluto’s Influence in 2025: Specifics
March-June 2025: Pluto’s direct at ~1° Aquarius (post-retrograde shadow from 2024), intensifying 0°’s effects. Expect:
Tech Power Plays: A major platform (X?) or innovation (AI?) hits a Pluto-driven turning point—control shifts.

Social Upheaval: Movements born in 2020 (e.g., climate activism) radicalize—Pluto fuels passion or purges pretense.

Economic Depth: Crypto or digital economies (2020 seeds) face a Pluto test—boom or bust by mid-year.

Retrograde (May 4-Oct 14, 2025): Pluto backtracks to ~0°, revisiting the conjunction’s exact degree. This could unearth 2020’s flaws—think scandals or reboots of early pandemic policies.

Final Picture
Pluto at 0° Aquarius in 2025 is a transformative titan, breathing fire into the Jupiter-Saturn conjunction’s 2020 seed. It destroys weak links—tech monopolies, shallow reforms—while birthing deeper power structures—decentralized systems, radical collectives. Bardon’s “electric spark” becomes a storm; Leo’s “crowned king” faces a crucible. Globally, it’s a power shift—2020’s Air-era dreams meet Pluto’s underworld, emerging reshaped by late 2025. Think tech revolutions, societal purges, and a new collective soul—raw, disruptive, inevitable.

how many times is black lilith opposite pluto

Astrology can be fascinating! Black Moon Lilith opposite Pluto is a rare astrological event. The Black Moon Lilith, associated with deep psychological fears, primal instincts, and shadow self, opposing Pluto, the planet of transformation, power, and the subconscious, can indicate intense times of personal growth and transformation.

However, due to the elliptical and somewhat irregular nature of Black Moon Lilith’s orbit, the exact frequency of its opposition to Pluto can vary greatly. Typically, these oppositions can occur roughly once every 10 years, but this is a rough estimate and can vary depending on specific astrological calculations and the positions of other celestial bodies.

Are you interested in how this might currently affect you or just curious about astrological events in general?

here has been a lot of talk lately about the entry of Pluto into tropical Aquarius, but if a powerful telescope were trained on Pluto now, one would see it about a degree of right ascension west of the alpha star in early Capricorn, called Algiedi, which is a double star. Less than a degree east of Algiedi is the beta star in Capricorn called Dabih from Al Sa’d al Dhabih (“the lucky one of the slaughterers,” which refers to the sacrifice of a goat—the scapegoat—near the winter solstice to absolve people of their sins). Dabih is also a double star with five components, a multiple system. Algiedi, Dabih and possibly the nu star, Alsat, all in the horns of the goat are, according to Ptolemy, of the nature of Venus and Mars (Algiedi) and Venus and Saturn (Dabih). Manilius said of this group in his Astronomicon that it relates to “…whatever needs fire to function.” In other words, ores, furnaces, smelting, casting, forging and metallurgy. I would add to that, bullets, whose lead and steel alloys are melted into projectiles as well as copper that is formed into shells that hold bullets large and small. Saturn is dignified in Capricorn and Mars is exalted there. Hard reality and uncompromising force characterize Capricorn.
These stars among the horns of the goat are among the oldest of the standard stars in the Babylonian pantheon, called “Normal Stars” by 19th century Jesuit scholars. The Babylonians took them as ecliptic markers thousands of years ago when the zodiac was being mapped out as ecliptic emphasis slowly superceded equatorial emphasis. The stars in the horns of the goat were chosen because they were inside the bounds of the zodiac, which is 8° to 9° on either side of the ecliptic so as to include Venus (probably) at her greatest extremes in celestial latitude. Algiedi has almost 7° of north latitude and Dabih has about 4 ½° of north latitude. They have marked out the first third of Capricorn since remote antiquity. In recent historical time Pluto has been among the stars in sidereal Capricorn from 1773 through 1792 and entered the sign of the Seagoat again in 2021 where it will remain through and including 2040.
Capricorn is a hard sign and Pluto is not renowned for sweetness and light. In 1776 when transiting Pluto was last near those stars in early Capricorn, the friction between American colonists and the British government had already reached the point of open military conflict in April 1775 with thousands dead by the time of the Declaration of Independence in July 1776.
The American Revolution was a nasty slugfest during an era when a modest colonial government could expect to be crushed by the pre-eminent European power of the day: the British Empire. The U.S. had the best political leaders of that generation on the American side of the Atlantic inspired by the 18th century Enlightenment, yet with few strategic advantages; but with help from France at critical moments, the Americans carried the day. Even so, it was a fight we were lucky to win. It happened because of good leadership from Washington in particular, who was first and foremost a soldier, and indignation and bitterness at the heavy-handed abuse heaped on us by the British that translated into courage in the field. The spirit of the Roman Senate and the British Parliament in better days was renewed and the torch of representative government on the European model was renewed and relit on the western shore of the Atlantic. But it came about through bloodshed. It was the result of struggle, not polite disagreement, but fire, shot, death and deprivation. Our independence was earned in the crucible of war.
The transit of Pluto through Capricorn was felt acutely in France, which in 1789, when the French Revolution began, was completely bankrupt. The French nobility, the clergy and its associated businesses and part of the bureaucracy were completely untaxed. France is the biggest country in Europe by area; she had become too big to feed after a bad harvest in 1788 attended by drought and a severe winter in 1788/89. People in France were literally starving to death amidst plenty among the wealthy who could buy what they needed. The government was inattentive and indifferent to the people. In addition to a violent reaction to a failing government, the free-wheeling French Revolution spawned the Declaration of the Rights of Man, a completely open-ended document that went even farther than our Declaration of Independence. These two documents and their respective revolutions, the American and the French, became the models for all subsequent Western democracies, but they both came about through struggle, a refusal to tolerate injustice and eventually widespread disorder that toppled the old regime, which in France became wholesale slaughter.
After the hard-fought eight year-long revolution (1775-1783), but with its causes still fresh in the minds of veterans and civilians alike, James Madison, later the fourth president of the U.S. (1809-1817), wrote the Bill of Rights, ratified in 1791, which are the first ten amendments to the Constitution. It is supremely ironic that Madison was a slave-holder.
Every American who has reached adulthood and made it through the public school system knows the first amendment: free speech, which means you can say anything and not be worried that you’ll be hauled off to jail. The first amendment specifically protects the freedom of the press and freedom of religion. Donald Trump wants to revoke the licenses of media networks that disagree with him publicly. That would be a serious first amendment violation, if he were to follow through with the threat, which would likely go to the Supreme Court directly. Even this far-right Supreme Court would have to find in favor of the People of the United States versus the President of the United States or forever completely relinquish its already tenuous pretense of impartiality. In democracies people fight out their differences on the floors of Congresses and Parliaments. If Trump ignored the Supreme Court and or dissolved Congress, the Republic might not be dead, but it would be on life-support until and unless those who support it can resist tyranny and return to power. If the Republic were to die, that would mean a return to darkness and the end of Constitutional protections, such as those laid out in the Bill of Rights. The people who voted for Trump were probably not thinking of what his election could mean. Democracy is messy and a little unwieldy in the large, but it’s far better than being told what to do and threatened directly and indirectly if you don’t do it.
This is what Pluto in Capricorn is about: serious discord and lack of unity out in the open from top to bottom, from the man in the street to the president of the republic, who wants to get around the checks and balances of the American government and remake it into a personal dictatorship. That’s not approximately what Octavian did in Rome two thousand and fifty years ago, when he became Caesar Augustus: rather, that’s precisely what he did when he made a rubber stamp out of the Roman Senate and became the first Roman emperor. The Roman Empire has been somewhat romanticized since then, but make no mistake, Caesar ruled through fear. He had absolute control of the military. He had those who publicly disagreed with him killed. It kept the peace more or less because people got the message. That’s how Putin operates; that’s how Xi operates; that’s how Kim operates; that’s how Trump wants to operate. We and Western Europe evolved somewhat differently because of the American and French Revolutions in the 18th century. Probably, due to the long tradition of the independence of our three branches of government, the U.S. can be put right and recover from the efforts of the far right to rescind our constitutional freedoms, but we’re now at a crossroads with fateful choices to make. The forces on the right want to remove the choice. When Trump speaks of not having elections in the future he isn’t joking. That would happen if Trump dissolved Congress, ignored the Supreme Court and dared people who disagree with his policy to do something about it. That could happen on day one. Trump’s health could easily provide an excuse to invoke martial law. The key to his aims is control of the military.
People often speak of Pluto as if it were an idyllic transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. Transformation is a much too much over-used word that is a euphemism for the way Pluto usually operates. It should not be lost on a soft American population that has had most things handed to it that Pluto is usually harsh, hard and an overwhelming force that often overturns lives and introduces unwanted and sometimes violent change and repression onto the staus quo ante. Pluto in Capricorn is not tranquil; it represents fierce winds and heat as the gloves come off and sides square up: one side symbolic of autocracy and on the other, the resistance it evokes in contrast to Aquarius, which is an adjustment to the tumult that characterizes the Pluto in Capricorn years, although Aquarius is not without severe disruption and even revolution itself. Before Uranus was discovered astrologers were satisfied that, while they are not the same, they’re close enough that Saturn was granted dual rulership status over both Capricorn and Aquarius. The Indians still do that. Many people expect Pluto in Aquarius to manifest as a celebration of humanism, tolerance and escape from oppression—a type of kumbaya moment or newfound heaven on Earth, but that is unlikely even when it comes true decades into the future because Aquarius is the detriment of the Sun. In the meantime, the contrast between Pluto in tropical Aquarius and sidereal Capricorn is stark. One has only to look around at what’s happening in the world to evaluate the matter. Transiting Pluto has been approaching the first major group of stars in Capricorn for three years. It spends all of 2025 conjoined alternately exactly and very close to the alpha, beta and nu stars in the Seagoat. American politics are about to become more of a hardball affair than at any time since the Civil War (1861-1865).
ransiting Mars will be activating those Houses in your chart that are spanned by Cancer and Leo. There is something there that needs to be peeled back. Needs to become more authentic. Mars opposite Pluto gives great power and gravitas to this process. It is not a small thing for any of us. With Mars in Cancer, we are being asked to revisit our understanding of security and safety and to bring those understandings from an instinctual level to a higher intuitive understanding. With Leo we are being asked to know oneself in order to let go of oneself, to serve the collective from the Heart. Pluto will confront us with whatever is holding us back in this endeavour. So join us, and lets speculate and explore.

FREE SPEECH & INTERNET are Nep ingress Aries to many astrologers
As astrologers are keenly aware, this planet presides over death, mortality and destruction. He is the power of Change that occurs with time, that which transforms the material world, and his underlying intention is regeneration, rebirth and resurrection. Following the breakdown and disintegration of any situation (whether abstract or material) there is the possibility of new life and restoration. We can see this happen in Nature throughout the seasonal cycle, as regenerative powers do their thing. With Pluto in Mundane Astrology, however – and as we’ll see later – things are not necessarily that simple.

Aquarius is the sign of brotherhood par excellence and embodies the power of the collective and HUMANITY itself.
In the zodiac cycle, the soul has passed through the personal and social ambitions of Capricorn to arrive at humanity itself – Life and Reality perceived through the group ego; ‘us’ and ‘we’, rather than ‘me and mine’. Aquarius isn’t just the dignity of the socialised individual (also an Aquarian concern) but the dignity of the human race itself, or what it ultimately means to be a Man or Woman. In Mundane Astrology, Aquarian themes are triggered when there is concern with human rights and humanitarianism, co-operation and co-operatives, socialism and society at large. It’s the old Mr Spock principle: ‘the needs of the Many outweigh the needs of the One’. (For Leo, of course – the opposite sign to Aquarius – it is the other way around.)

The Mundane Pluto
As mentioned, what Pluto seeks at an archetypal level is the breakdown and resurrection of outdated structures. On a mundane chart – often the hardest to make any reliable forecasts for – we need to look at the underlying themes connected to the planet and sign, so let’s first take a look at Pluto transits through previous signs and the main themes at work.

PLUTO IN VIRGO (1958-1970)

Pluto’s entry into Virgo coincided with a decimation of the workforce in the manufacturing sector. For one, in the UK, employment in manufacturing began a swift decline (c. 1966) from which it never recovered. One threat to the labour market is automation – machines taking the place of people. The term originated with the Ford Motor Company in 1948 but it wasn’t until 1961 that actual robots were introduced – on a General Motors assembly line – into the workplace. This ties in exactly with Pluto’s transit through Virgo (along with, it must be said, Uranus). Later developments were the invention of industrial computers (the PLC’s, or ‘programmable logic controllers’) in 1968 and the appearance of robotic “Stanford Arm” in 1969. From this period onwards, robots on assembly lines, and far less human workers, would proliferate.

PLUTO IN LIBRA (1971-1984)

This phase in human history saw a re-evaluation of personal relationships and gender politics. The term ‘permissive society’ had entered the parlance, and Pluto in Libra provided us with a threat to the institution of matrimony. Marriage break-ups in the West were on the increase in the early 1970’s; divorce rates had soared into six figures by 1972 in the UK, for example. In the US, divorces peaked in the 1970’s and early 1980’s (sitting nicely in the Pluto-Libra timeline). As the New York Times pointed out, this ‘occurred at the same time as a new feminist movement, which caused social and economic upheaval.’ (Germaine Greer’s polemical and angry, The Female Eunuch had been published in 1970.) Instead of marriage, we had ‘living in sin’ (Pluto quite likes sin) as a practical alternative to matrimony when older values underwent serious change. We also experienced the rise of Women’s Rights as a philosophy and the striving for gender equality (‘equality’ being a Libran keyword).

PLUTO IN SCORPIO (1984-1996))

When Pluto moved into Scorpio the world held its breath – nuclear conflagration seemed like a real possibility due to unresolved tensions between superpowers America and Russia. (Ronald Reagan was quoted as saying ‘we might be the generation that sees Armageddon’ and this type of scaremongering was filtered through popular culture (like TV’s Whoops Apocalypse!, and films such as War Games, When the Wind Blows, Threads, and The Day After). There were other Scorpio themes: practitioners of the occult were under threat as a wave of hysteria took off regarding the (unproven) ‘satanic ritual abuse’ of children, which had gone global by the late 80’s. Plus, according to some Christians, rock fans were unwittingly hearing devilish ‘backmasking’ (secret ‘satanic’ messages in the grooves or their LP’s.) Sex itself even became a dangerous pursuit in some quarters of society, with the emergence of the AIDS epidemic.

PLUTO IN SAGITTARIUS (1996-2008)

Sagittarius ‘rules’ religion on a mundane chart and this Pluto transit underpinned plenty of apocalyptic, millenarial thinking by two major Western powers – the US and the UK. The Bush administration was heavily influenced by the Christian Right and its ideas about the end of the world (for Evangelicals, Jesus was returning in 2000.) Pluto also exposes the dark underbelly wherever it exists: for example, cases of sexual abuse in the Catholic church received full scrutiny (and more robust action) from the mid 1990’s onwards – especially in the US and Ireland. Plus, religious-inspired terrorism reached a crescendo. In 1996, Osama bin Laden issued the first of two fatwās that declared a holy war against the US (whose results arrived in the Al Qaeda attacks of 9-11 in 2001).

We’re now seeing Pluto in Capricorn (2008-2024), the sign which represents the Father archetype. In mundane astrology this means traditional, ‘patriarchal’ power structures and authorities like governments, political elites, dictatorships, police forces, armies, financial institutions, Big Business and corporations. In short, it is the Establishment. The System. In some cases, the Father principle is being undermined by Pluto, for the time-honoured, patriarchal approach by the powers-that-be can only work if the values Capricorn embodies are accepted by society as a whole. These days, we’re no longer prepared be accept the word of Authority and power elites on their own terms. More and more people are disenchanted with political leaders, especially when they see the System as being basically rotten. Hence the rise of many protest movements, like Occupy Wall Street, about perceived corruption and privilege within the System.

If Pluto was just about exposing darkness and corruption in high places and we could all simply revolt and bring governments down, we would have our Utopia. But Pluto empowers, too, and it empowers and even exaggerates the archetypes of the sign it is transiting. Hence we’ve see the rise of demagoguery, far-right politics and the unforgiving hand of Authority. On another tack, we also had the Financial Collapse of 2008 when Pluto was just getting started in Capricorn. Capricorn on a mundane chart is also about the power wielded by banking systems, for here is the Establishment yet again with its control over our lives. Pluto’s entrance into Capricorn thus coincided with an undermining of the System, as the issue of toxic loans and the so-called sub-prime market wreaked havoc and led to the Crash. Also, by late December 2010, people were ready to take to the streets – and thus began the so-called Arab Spring, arising from a catalogue of grievances about authoritarian repression, another effect of Pluto in Capricorn.

Pluto in Aquarius- The Last Time
If we look at the last time we saw Pluto in Aquarius (1777 to 1797) there is the humanitarian activist and politician William Wilberforce busily campaigning to abolish the slave trade.
(The first country to actually do so was Denmark, in 1792.) As Wikipedia tells us, 1787 saw Wilberforce work with other campaigners who ‘persuaded him to take on the cause of abolition, and he soon became the leading English abolitionist. He headed the parliamentary campaign against the British slave trade for 20 years until the passage of the Slave Trade Act of 1807.1 We can thus see Pluto’s reforming energies (via Aquarius) all too well in Wilberforce’s ‘causes and campaigns such as the Society for the Suppression of Vice, British missionary work in India, the creation of a free colony in Sierra Leone, the foundation of the Church Mission Society and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.’2 This is Pluto in Aquarius, humanitarian zeal with a vengeance, though of course, he wasn’t alone in this. (Incidentally, when Pluto moved into Pisces – empathy for all of God’s creations, not just humans – the RSPCA was formed in 1824 at the tail end of the Pluto transit, 1797-1823.)

Aquarius is concerned chiefly with groups and collectives, of course, hence the idea of getting together with fellow workers for mutual benefit. In the United Kingdom in 1777, a co-operative of tailors appeared in Birmingham whilst, prior to this, a consumer cooperative was formed in 1769 in East Ayrshire, Scotland, when ‘local weavers manhandled a sack of oatmeal into John Walker’s whitewashed front room and began selling the contents at a discount, forming the Fenwick Weavers’ Society.’3 Plus, according to the Guardian, in 1795, there was the ‘anti-mill’ flour mill in Hull, UK, ‘one of several early English co-operative ventures … set up by local people angry at the high prices charged by commercial millers.’

On the same theme, another example of Pluto in Aquarius is the birth of the Labor Movement in the US after the first recorded strike (of New York journeymen tailors) in 1768 (when Pluto was in Capricorn). Thus, the Federal Society of Journeymen Cordwainer (shoemakers) signalled the start of active trade unions in 1794 (with Pluto now in Aquarius). Hence, strength in numbers, a typical Aquarian theme. Here is how the History website describes the origins of the Labor Movement:

‘The labor movement in the United States grew out of the need to protect the common interest of workers. For those in the industrial sector, organized labor unions fought for better wages, reasonable hours and safer working conditions. The labor movement led efforts to stop child labor, give health benefits and provide aid to workers who were injured or retired.’

It would be an understatement to say that the so-called Rights of Man were very much an issue during this phase of history. One major legacy from this Pluto in Aquarius phase are the two famous Declarations of Human Rights created in the wake of the American and French Revolutions. In fact, it is possible to speak of an actual ‘humanitarian spirit’ at large in the late eighteenth century when the planet of reform and renewal was in the sign of brotherhood and humanity.

I will cover this subject in the part two, together with a comprehensive look at what to expect this time as Pluto enters Aquarius in the Digital Age. A new ‘human revolution’ is underway, but what will that mean? Will it be as moral and ethically based as what happened in Wilberforce’s day? The Aquarian themes of co-operative power, humanitarianism, brotherhood and teamwork all sound wonderful, but won’t there be a dark side, too, with Pluto in Aquarius?

Ideally, as you will read on most internet blogs, this transit will be about the power of the collective, interconnectedness, networking, sharing and co-operatives, where everyone (potentially) has a say and benefits equally. These are the supposed themes for the coming years. However, the reality may be rather different, as we will see later on.

Aquarian triumphs always sound lovely and liberating — at first. But the water-bearer, as embodied by the overeager Aquarius Laura Dern on Enlightened, will pursue righteousness and revolution at all costs, unaware of the collateral damage. The French Revolution toppled a bloated monarchy, but its values of rigid nationalism now fail to integrate religious and ethnic differences. The Former Soviet Union is ruled by Aquarius, and in the rise and fall of communism we see how a vision for perfect equality can become an iron menace.

– David Odyssey1

The last time Pluto was in Aquarius social reform was in the air; the following quote is from Frank J. Klingberg’s essay, the Evolution of the Humanitarian Spirit in Eighteenth-Century England:

All the humanitarian currents and forces of the [eighteenth] century may be thought of as the struggle for the organization of a civilized social life, with the economist, the churchman, the reformer, the poet, the satirist, and the legislator each working in many related “causes” for the change of social conditions… The fact that the mood of England was changing, decade by decade, is seen in the voice of these important societies … The first of the revolutionary leaders [of this time] was Granville Sharp. His interests included activity against dueling, the press gang, prison abuse, Parliamentary corruption, war, drink, flogging, and unemployment.’2

Klingberg’s text above beautifully captures the spirit of the previous transit of Pluto through Aquarius (1777 to 1797) – the zeal for reform and the sincere attempts to improve the lot of ordinary people. There can be no better example, however, of this drastic Plutonian sweep through society (like a scythe through a wheat crop) than the concurrent Revolution occurring in France from 1789-1799. As Wikipedia puts it: ‘Many of its ideas are considered fundamental principles of liberal democracy, while phrases like liberté, égalité, fraternité reappeared in other revolts …. and inspired campaigns for the abolition of slavery and universal suffrage.’3

Liberté, égalité, fraternité (liberty, equality and fraternity) can be seen as a direct result of the discovery of revolutionary-minded Uranus, even though the equality and fraternity parts are not – in themselves – Uranian principles (Uranus’ function is to inspire Man and Woman, infuse them with Divine Spirit and to tear down the old oppressive order – ‘brotherhood’ doesn’t quite enter the picture. Instead, what we saw in revolutionary France in the late eighteenth century was Pluto in Aquarius’s urge towards a fairer, more equal society.)

And if any one individual personified the zeitgeist it had to be Maximilien Robespierre (1758 –1794) the French lawyer who was ‘one of the best-known, influential and controversial figures of the French Revolution. He campaigned for universal manhood suffrage and the abolition of both clerical celibacy and [like William Wilberforce in the UK] the Atlantic slave trade [becoming] an outspoken advocate for male citizens without a political voice … To some, Robespierre was the Revolution’s principal ideologist and embodied the country’s first democratic experience.’4

This is one of the more noble effects of Pluto in Aquarius, but there is another side to it …

THE DARK SIDE

We know that, as humans, individually or collectively, we can misuse planetary energies. One way of misusing Pluto is to try and hang on to the old ways to retain one’s power base. This is what certain long standing institutions will be doing with Pluto in Aquarius, especially governments and businesses (who often have vested interests in things remaining as they are). As the astrologer Paula Lustemberg put it: ‘Pluto in Aquarius describes the removal of what stands in the way of moving towards a future with greater social equality. How this is done depends very much on the collective reality of the moment.’5 If Pluto in Capricorn exposed corruption in business and politics with authoritarian, self-serving leaders (yet simultaneously empowering them), Pluto in Aquarius will focus less on the individual leaders than it does groups. Instead of the powers of the megalomaniacs it will be about the institutions and corporations themselves – and the power they wield may not all be positive.

As any astrologer knows, Pluto can bring a ‘heavy’ and authoritative hand to a situation, one of its principal themes is power, after all. In Aquarius, we see the blind quest and zeal to ‘improve’ things for the supposed ‘good of all’, the ‘good of the community’. If Aquarius is about human rights, for example, we may even see situations where citizens are prosecuted for violating them in only mild ways. For example, some aspects of so called political correctness – originally only about consideration towards minorities – could turn into actual legal proscriptions, and what we say to each other with mild insults could not only be against the law but may entail jail time for ‘offenders’. This sounds like one of those wild ‘it couldn’t happen here’ scenarios – but history shows that humankind is often complacent about things like this. (For much of the 1930’s, no one thought there could be another world War.)

And so Pluto in Aquarius may be about power and manipulation disguised as ‘trying to do the right thing’.
I quote Paula Lustemberg once more: ‘Pluto also speaks of control and manipulation, especially when experienced from the lowest vibrations. And in Aquarius, we can talk about control and manipulation through the mind, through ideas … Be that as it may, in the past this transit has brought great progress in society. We see a new era coming where “knowledge” will be the star …’6

And yet, ‘knowledge’ already is the star, as witnessed in the pre-eminence of Science, and its supposed authority – something we often turn to as a reference point for the ‘bigger issues’.

This is mainly because Religion (in the West) has lost most of its power to influence modern societies. The prevailing Paradigm, is determined now by science, not organised religion. And yet science is often treated, as if it were a religion. Certainly, it often constitutes a dogma which tries to lay down exactly what we should believe about the Universe. In Liz Greene’s assessment of the coming Age of Aquarius (whose seeds we now see germinating) she says that with its ‘group consciousness’ this sign will ‘wipe out the individual if it is allowed to run rampant’. That is, when the group mind, the consensus, is strong enough, individual differences of opinion are ignored, stamped out even. When there is enough peer pressure, one’s feels forced to agree and join in with what the group wants. This is how Aquarius gets its own way – and Science (through sheer numbers) has the upper hand.

Therefore, there’s a big danger that the dogma of Science – because it is has power through the Collective and the support of the Majority – will become even more like a tool with which to shut people up, especially those with ‘irrational’ spiritual beliefs or those who would take up arms against it, that is, other scientists who argue against the (often unfounded) dogmas. We already see some of this with the phenomenon of Intelligent Design, whose advocates have pointed out the failings of modern neo-Darwinism (gene theory plus evolution tells us all we need to know about Life). Scientists who argue for Intelligent Design are not only insulted by the orthodox scientific community (usually ridiculed as silly, Christian creationists) but livelihoods can be lost (in the US) if they dare even to mention ID to their students.

So, because Science is a collective power, dissenting voices in the minority will be even more difficult to hear. Individual dissenters are to be shunned. Then again, does Science always move in the direction of what’s good for everyone? Take Artificial Intelligence, that supposed miracle of modern science where machines can do the work humans used to do (whose advocates seem to forget certain obvious facts like: a) these machines put people out of work; and b) machines have a tendency to go wrong.) The Rise of AI is based on the erroneous idea that Human Consciousness is somehow synonymous with the intelligence of a computer program. In the coming era, there may be yet more extreme ideas for how AI robots can be put to use, and since Pluto is involved they will likely border on the vaguely sinister, too!

This Power of the Collective will also see some controversial manifestations in politics, in institutions like the EU, or the UN, when Pluto moves through Aquarius. Ideally, Pluto in Aquarius will shift the emphasis to shared power, shared capitalism and power structures that are more inclusive. (At the very least it should mean individual demagogues can no longer get away with things – that their powers are checked by other forces.) But it is also going to create many more tensions when sovereign countries (the ‘individual’) want to exert certain powers against the wishes of whatever collective or union they belong to.

BUSINESS, THE ENVIRONMENT AND THE FUTURE

As we saw in part one of this article, humanitarians like William Wilberforce (who campaigned in the eighteenth century against slavery) were ultimately driven by Christianity. That ‘do-good’ zeal will still be there with the next Pluto-Aquarius transit, but we will look towards ‘science’ to usher in and deliver the new changes. The obvious difference between now and Wilberforce’s time is one of new technology. We live (some of) our lives online, connected to part of a huge network, whose basic idea is about lateral power – each ‘node’ having some individual autonomy. The point is that it’s decentralised – there is essentially no top-down hierarchy.

Networks are obviously another Aquarian theme (look at the massive rise of popular social media sites, for example, when fashion-conscious Neptune went through Aquarius). The Internet is is also changing the way entrepreneurs and ordinary people do business, in short, it has levelled the playing field, bringing people together (customers and sellers) instantly, without any so called middlemen or ‘mark up’ costs. In Jeremy Rifkin’s The Third Industrial Revolution the author has much to say about a future based more on the (Aquarian) principle of collaboration and sharing, in particular where Green issues are concerned:

‘The emerging Third Industrial Revolution … is organized around distributed renewable energies that are found everywhere and are, for the most part, free—sun, wind, hydro, geothermal heat, biomass, and ocean waves and tides. These dispersed energies will be collected at millions of local sites and then bundled and shared with others over intelligent power networks to achieve optimum energy levels and maintain a high-performing, sustainable economy. The distributed nature of renewable energies necessitates collaborative rather than hierarchical command and control mechanisms … This new lateral energy regime establishes the organizational model for the countless economic activities that multiply from it. A more distributed and collaborative industrial revolution, in turn, invariably leads to a more distributed sharing of the wealth generated.’7

He goes on to state that, in a network, ‘self-interest is subsumed by shared interest. Proprietary information is eclipsed by a new emphasis on openness and collective trust. The new focus on transparency over secrecy is based on the premise that adding value to the network doesn’t depreciate one’s own stock but, rather, appreciates everyone’s holdings as equal nodes in a common endeavor.’8 There are a number of Aquarian themes here that Rifkin (who I presume is not an astrologer) has picked up on – the theme of collective trust, collaboration and shared interest – which all adds up to ‘together is better’. And Rifkin seems certain that the new spirit of ‘shared energy’ resources will become a new economic model for the future. Let’s hope so.

Pluto is, of course, a transpersonal planet, concerned ultimately with the fate of generations rather than individuals. (Even with a natal Pluto on an angle, say, that person – we are told – is meant to be a mere vessel for the planet’s universal energy.) If Pluto in Aquarius can teach us anything it is that we’re all entirely dependent on Mother Nature (who, when she wears her Plutonian face can, nevertheless, seem quite cruel). In the old paradigm Nature was something to be conquered; in the new one, we must build a relationship with it. For example, the Covid virus (whose appearance in the West coincided with the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 2020) clearly exposed how we are destroying the planet. Satellite photos made soon after its first stages (when we were mostly in full lockdown) showed a decline in harmful greenhouse gases, and wildlife started to reappear where it had been absent. (There were even fish in Venice’s waterways.) In short, when we weren’t polluting it, the Earth began to heal. (The Covid virus even showed our innate capacity for coming together, for unselfish action.)

It should go without saying that new environmental initiatives will be near the top of any good government’s ‘to do’ list with Pluto in Aquarius – for this is ultimately about humanity itself. As Jeremy Rifkin suggests, Western governments and technology firms will work together better in the future – and better here means ‘greener’. Pluto in Aquarius (along with spiritually inclined Neptune in Pisces) will make it abundantly clear that we need to step back a little and think over our relationship with the planet. Again, we are all connected and inter-dependent; not only will Pluto in Aquarius demonstrate this, dramatically if necessary, we’ll have to adopt the slogan as a modus operandi during the so-called Third ‘Industrial Revolution’.

Back in 1793, not long after the first industrial revolution, Robespierre even urged the formation of a sans-culotte army to enforce revolutionary laws. As Wikipedia explains: ‘The sans-culottes were the common people of the lower classes in late 18th-century France’, and they became the radical, militant end of the French Revolution, angry at their poor quality of life. Again, this is Pluto in Aquarius to a T – a very real ‘power of the people’. And if you haven’t spotted it yet, they look like a forerunner of the Gilets-Jaunes, the yellow-vest protestors in modern France who began calling for economic justice and institutional political reforms. The protests in France began on 17 November 2018, incidentally, ten days after transiting Uranus had conjoined natal Saturn on France’s 1792 chart (suggesting massive tensions ready to explode), and the same month that the progressed moon (the people) squared progressed Pluto (power).

With Pluto in Aquarius, I believe we’re going to see many more of these kinds of protests from ordinary people, even new movements (witness Extinction Rebellion) and that they’re going to have some real political power to influence the so-called Establishment. This we’ll likely see, as well, in the power of workers’ unions across the Western world. The last Pluto transit brought about the first unions and the Labor movement in the US, in keeping with the egalitarian spirit of Aquarius. Strikes, therefore, may become much more of a serious issue than of late as we move into 2024. So, in closing, to use an old slogan from another old radical: Power to the People!

Fights with Press and RF and IN COURT Disputes

Pluto is about exploring what power is and isn’t, the square between the two bodies brings pressure and friction between a sense of strength and confidence (Pluto) and triggering being triggered by others in ways that can lead to escalations of conflict and competition (Eris).

finding the “weak link” or the “chink in one’s armor” (I didn’t want to overuse “Achilles’ heel” here). If the chart holder feels confident by being in charge of something (related to kids now with Pluto in Capricorn natally), someone else will always be able to point out a flaw in that person’s record, qualifications, or perceived right to be in charge of it. Similarly if the chart holder feels strong because of a developing confidence in taking charge of something in her life, there will always potentially be another person who can point out what isn’t perfect, with the implication that the chart holder shouldn’t feel so good about her efforts and self.

The multilife wounding with this aspect can be that somehow others are triggered into chaos or recklessness when the chart holder makes firm decisions or gives marching orders. Competition from “lower ranks” of people (whoever is being lead if the Pluto-in-Capricorn person is leading) can derail the chart holder’s efforts to get meaningful work done. This also can work the other way, where the chart holder can challenge others’ qualifications to be in charge of things or, in general, be trusted to be competent and deliver on a task or project. In short, the effectiveness of the Capricornian investment of time and energy (empowerment through becoming authoritative, responsible, competent, mature, etc.) can be pressed against by critical others representing the energy of Eris in Aries.

There can be a feeling of the Eris person in the dynamic as a terrorist of sorts, as whatever the structure the Pluto -in-Capricorn person creates, the Eris person has a desire to poke holes in its apparent cogency, security or safety, logic, and stability.

Attitude also matters.

William has an attitude of gratitude. You can tell by the way he treats his wife, his kids, his father and the people around him. A grateful attitude is focused on others and less on self.

Harry’s attitude is self focused. Selfish and egocentric. Jealous and petty. His is a never ending pity party. He believes he has been wronged and deserves to have it made up to him.

I agree it matters who you marry. But attitude towards life matters more. Their wives only amplified what was already there.

I keep saying that Harry could have been the fun uncle if only he was willing to stop being jealous of his older brother and instead be grateful for what he has.

Unfortunately if he ever has a change of heart it will be too late. He can never be trusted again.

The Power of Pluto Angular in 31 UFO Moments 1949 – 2023

Astrologer Maureen Richmond, Ph.D.

Pluto may not be an authentic planet in the eyes of official science, but when it comes to moments in time when the portals of consciousness open to let a ray of paranormality enter this world via UFO encounters, tiny Pluto manages to pack a considerable punch.

[See Pluto in the outermost orbit, which is plainly tilted to the plane of the solar system. The eccentricity of Pluto’s orbit is one reason why conventional science does not consider Pluto a member of the solar system’s planetary family.]

Relegated now by mainstream science to mere planetoid status, Pluto nevertheless seems to show up in all the right astrological places. And what are those right places? None other than positions conjunct the Ascendant, Zenith, Descendant, or Nadir of event charts cast for the times when unidentified flying objects have manifested to human observers, sparking some of the most extraordinary and transformative experiences known to humankind.

[See the Ascendant at left, the Midheaven or Zenith at top, the Descendant at right, and the IC or Nadir at bottom.]

Angular position in the astrological chart has long been known by the astrological community to carry considerable influence, whether for an event or an individual person’s chart. When any planetary body, the Sun, or the Moon are conjunct the Ascendant or rising point, the Zenith or overhead point, the Descendant or setting point, or the Nadir or root of the sky point, the nature of that celestial body is strongly imprinted on the events of the corresponding moment. Interestingly, this was the case in regard to Pluto for 31 UFO encounters which transpired between 1949 and 2023, as is shown in the examples below. (All calculations are in the Tropical Zodiac and Placidus House System.)

Pluto Conjunct the Ascendant in 7 UFO Encounters 1953 – 2023

On January 28, 1953, at 9:35 pm in airspace over Albany, New York, a strange sight was observed by a U.S. Air Force pilot flying at an altitude of 6000 feet. The pilot encountered one bright light which then morphed into a triangular shaped craft, split into 2 triangles, and then vanished. A chart calculated for the ground location shows retrograde Pluto at 22 degrees of Leo just 6 degrees above the Ascendant at 28 degrees of Leo, having just risen, therefor conjunct the Ascendant and hence angular. This position would be relevant for an altitude of 6000 feet as well. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 129.)

Pluto was only 4 degrees above the Ascendant on March 19, 1977, when at 8 pm in Ontario, Canada, a red triangular UFO streaked out of the sky and silently hovered over a car on the highway, pulsating with a red glow as it flashed red and turquoise lights and emitted a golden glow from its undercarriage. With the event Ascendant at 17 degrees of Libra, Pluto at 13 degrees of Libra had just risen, and so was conjunct the Ascendant and hence angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 96.)

Again, Pluto was conjunct the Ascendant when on January 31, 1978, at 11 pm in Vineland, NJ, a witness observed a silent triangular craft with base forward as it flew. The Ascendant of the event was 20 degrees of Libra, with Pluto at 17 degrees of Libra just 3 degrees above the eastern horizon line, making Pluto conjunct the Ascendant and hence angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 98 – 99.)

Pluto was also conjunct the Ascendant and therefore angular on February 22, 1978, when at 9:40 pm in Newcastle, CA, several witnesses observed a triangular or delta-shaped craft moving slowly and hovering 2000 to 3000 feet above a highway as it emitted a low pitched hum. With the Ascendant of the moment at 21 degrees of Libra, Pluto at 16 degrees of Libra was only 5 degrees of zodiacal longitude above the Ascendant, had just risen, was still conjunct the Ascendant, and hence was angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 100.)

Pluto also made quite an astrological appearance during the Belgian Triangle Wave of 1990. On March 30, 1990, at 11:49 pm over Semmerzake, Belgium, radar registered a triangular mystery craft, one of many which traveled at astounding speeds but produced no sonic booms. At the time of radar contact, the Ascendant of the moment was 19 degrees of Scorpio, with Pluto tightly conjunct the Ascendant at 17 degrees of Scorpio. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 22.)

[Pluto conjunct the Ascendant at the time a triangular ufo registered on Belgian radar.]

The so-called Illinois Invasion of January 2000 also contained an event apparently driven by Pluto conjunct the Ascendant and hence angular. At 5:03 am on January 5, 2000, witnesses observed a UFO over Millstadt, IL. Pluto was precisely conjunct the Ascendant at the time, with both Pluto and the Ascendant located at 12 degrees of Sagittarius.

Then, in 2023, yet another UFO sighting took place with Pluto at the Ascendant and therefore angular. On July 28, 2023, at 8:18 pm, witnesses observed a silent orb trailing a tail of light as it crossed the sky in Lexington, MO. The Ascendant of the moment was 3 degrees of Aquarius, with retrograde Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn just 4 degrees of zodiacal longitude above the Ascendant, and therefore angular. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, September 2023, 7 – 8.)

Pluto Conjunct the Zenith or Midheaven in 7 UFO Encounters 1949 – 2017

Pluto has also played a role in ufo sightings and encounters from a position directly overhead, or conjunct the Zenith. One such event occurred early in modern ufo history. In the mid-twentieth century, Albuquerque’s Sandia Base was a beehive of activity centered around the development of nuclear weaponry. On March 13, 1949, at 9:53 pm, two military policemen sighted a bluish or greenish-white silent spherical object as it hovered in the sky over the military base stocked with the only nuclear arsenal in the world at that time. The overhead or zenith point of the moment, and hence the Midheaven, sat at 15 degrees of Leo, the precise positioning of retrograde Pluto, also 15 degrees of Leo. For this event apparently intended as a comment on the presence of nuclear weapons, Pluto was smack dab on the Zenith or Midheaven and hence powerfully angular. (Source of sighting data: Robert L. Hastings, UFOs and Nukes, electronic copy with no pagination.)

Pluto was again conjunct the Zenith or Midheaven on January 6, 1953, when at 3 am, police officers and citizens in Dallas, TX, viewed an arrowhead-shaped unknown craft. With a green nose light and white light coming off what appeared to be wings, the craft rose to an astounding altitude of 100,000 feet, according to an air traffic controller who also observed the event. At the time of the event, Pluto at 22 degrees of Leo was conjunct the Zenith or Midheaven at 21 degrees of Leo. Pluto was therefore only one degree past an exact conjunction to the Zenith point and therefore was astrologically powerful at this moment when the laws of flight were apparently transcended. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 67 – 68.)

On November 14, 1957 at 6:22 am in Camarillo, CA, a hospital employee on the way to work sighted a mysterious triangular craft moving with base forward, not point forward as standard aeronautics would dictate. Pluto at 2 degrees of health-care related Virgo was just 5 degrees past the Zenith point at 27 degrees of Leo, and therefore angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 73.)

A large, silent triangular craft was seen hovering and in flight by a scientific observation team at work on the tarmac of an abandoned airfield on May 24, 1973, at 9:20 pm in Farmington, MO. Pluto at 2 degrees of Libra was just 5 degrees away from precise conjunction to the Zenith or Midheaven, located at 7 degrees of Libra at event time. Pluto was thus angular and powerful by virtue of conjunction to the Midheaven. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 88.)

Pluto was angular at the sighting of yet another triangular craft on April 4, 1975, when at 1 am in Newton Grove, NC, a silent triangle-shaped craft with edges lit and a central light was observed hovering, moving much more slowly than aircraft, and emitting a slight humming as observers watched. Pluto was zodiacally located at 8 degrees of Libra, with the Zenith of the moment at 9 degrees of Libra. Pluto was thus only one degree shy of the Zenith. Pluto was therefore conjunct the Midheaven, angular, and hence powerful to generate effects. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 93 – 94.)

[Chart for Newton Grove UFO Sighting with Pluto conjunct the Zenith or MC.]

In Canada only a few years later, yet another sighting of a triangular UFO occurred with Pluto at the Midheaven and therefore angular. On April 26, 1978, at 11 pm in Welland, Ontario, three adults in a car watched as a silent triangular craft flashed red, white, and blue lights. Pluto at 15 degrees of Libra was just one degree shy of the Zenith or Midheaven at 16 degrees of Libra. Pluto was therefore angular and thus influential. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 102.)

More recently, Pluto was again conjunct the Zenith on August 26, 2017, when at 10 pm in West Islip, NY, a silent diamond shaped craft was observed on a deserted beach. For this event, Pluto at 17 degrees of Capricorn was just 3 degrees shy of the Zenith or Midheaven at 20 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was thus angular and powerful. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, December 2023, 15.)

Pluto Conjunct the Descendant in 13 UFO Encounters 1969 - 2023

On August 30, 1969, at 7:30 pm in Bucharest, Romania, witnesses saw a dull orange triangular craft flying with base forward, followed by three blobs or globules. Pluto at 24 degrees of Virgo was precisely setting and therefore conjunct the Descendant of the moment at 24 degrees of Virgo. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 81.)

On May 10, 1977, at 5:10 am in Rome, GA, two witnesses saw a triangular craft as it hovered for 10 minutes at an altitude of 1000 feet. Pluto at 12 degrees of Libra had just set in the west and was 3 degrees of zodiacal longitude below the Descendant of the moment at 15 degrees of Libra. Pluto was therefore angular and powerful. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 97.)

A mere week later, yet another riveting ufo encounter took place while Pluto was conjunct the Descendant. On May 17, 1977, at 3:45 am in Memphis, TN, police officers sighted a pyramid-shaped ufo the size of a football field as it hovered low at a mere 200 feet above ground level over power lines and roads in the urban landscape, blinking red and green lights. Pluto at 12 degrees of Libra was 3 degrees of zodiacal longitude above the Descendant of the event moment at 9 degrees of Libra. Pluto was thus setting, conjunct the Descendant of the event moment, and angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 94 – 96.)

[Chart for Huge Pyramid UFO of Memphis with Pluto setting.]

Pluto was also setting on August 2, 1979, at 11:30 pm in Herndon, KS, when numerous observers saw a silent fifty-foot long triangular craft with red lights on each corner as it hovered and then emitted sound as it began to move. Pluto was astrologically located at 17 degrees of Libra, just 4 degrees above the Descendant of the moment at 13 degrees of Libra. Pluto was therefore angular and powerful. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 104.)

Low Bradfield Village in England was the scene of a ufo sighting which occurred at a time when Pluto was angular and hence influential. On July 29, 1995, at 12:15 am, residents noticed a triangular craft larger than an airliner as it flew low and made a humming sound. Pluto at 28 degrees of Scorpio was 6 degrees above the Descendant or setting point of the moment at 22 degrees of Scorpio. Pluto was thus angular and powerful during this suburban sighting. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 143 – 144.)

In Chicago, IL, on October 31, 2004, at 6:45 pm, hundreds of residents of the Tinley Park area watched as a black triangle ufo hung in the sky. Pluto at 21 degrees of travel-oriented Sagittarius was just 4 degrees above the Descendant of the moment at 17 degrees of Sagittarius. Pluto was thus angular and hence powerful in this mass ufo sighting. (Source of sighting data: Unknown.)

In 2020, hundreds of residents in the area of Kansas City, MO, also experienced a mass sighting while Pluto was angular. On April 12, observers noted a disc-shaped ufo at 12:45 pm. At event time, Pluto at 25 degrees of Capricorn was just 3 degrees below the Descendant of the moment at 28 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was therefore conjunct the Descendant, angular, and astrologically potent during this mass ufo sighting in middle America. (Source of sighting data: Missouri MUFON Website.)

On October 31, 2021, Pluto was also setting and conjunct the Descendant when at 11 pm in St. Ignace, MI, witnesses observed a hexagon-shaped ufo some 30 – 100 feet in diameter as it hovered over a Great Lakes harbor area. At event time, Pluto at 25 degrees of Capricorn was 3 degrees of zodiacal longitude above the Descendant at 22 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was thus conjunct the Descendant and angular for this unique sighting, which occurred in a location where one year later, a similarly configured ufo would be gunned out of the sky by U.S. military, under order from the White House. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, December 2023, 17.)

The Kansas City area again in 2022 was the location of a mass ufo sighting which transpired while Pluto was setting, or conjunct the Descendant. On August 10, at 5 am, witnesses saw a ufo hovering over an urban area. Pluto at 27 degrees of Capricorn sat just 2 degrees below the Descendant of the moment at 29 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was therefore conjunct the Descendant, angular, and hence astrologically powerful. On the same day in northwest Missouri, another sighting occurred at 5:15 am. There, the Descendant of the moment was 2 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto at 27 degrees of Capricorn was just 5 degrees below the Descendant of the event moment and therefore angular. (Source of sighting data: Unknown.)

Another hexagonally-themed ufo sighting occurred while Pluto was setting or conjunct the Descendant on August 28, 2022. In Louisville, KY, at 4:15 am, observers saw a strange sight. In the sky a mere 300 feet above ground level hovered two ufo objects, one round with a hexagonally-shaped bank of lights in the undercarriage, the other a bluntly shaped oval. At the same time but unbeknown to the observers, a nearby MADAR node registered an urgent alert for the potential presence of a ufo. Pluto in retrograde motion was located zodiacally at 27 degrees of Capricorn, just 2 degrees below the Descendant for the event moment at 29 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was thus setting, conjunct the Descendant, and angular. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, December 2023, 17 – 18.)

On February 1, 2023, at 3:47 pm in Columbia, NJ, observers watched as some 50 white orbs flew low in formation, making patterns as they went, and then vanished. Pluto was zodiacally located at 29 degrees of Capricorn, just 4 degrees above the Descendant of the event moment at 25 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was thus setting, conjunct the Descendant, angular, and astrologically powerful for this mystifying encounter. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, November 2023, 13.)

A month later in Manchester, UK, yet another unusual ufo sighting took place while Pluto was angular. On March 1, 2023, at 1:21 pm, a witness looking out over a construction site saw a sphere with no visible means of propulsion traversing the site. Pluto at 29 degrees and 30 minutes of Capricorn was almost 4 degrees above the Descendant of the moment at 26 degrees of Capricorn, making Pluto conjunct the Descendant, angular, and powerful at this time. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, April 2023, 7.)

The same month saw yet another distinctive ufo sighting which occurred with Pluto conjunct the Descendant and therefore angular. On March 27, 2023, at 1:38 pm in Tacoma, WA, observers saw a silent, domed ufo as it flew at low altitude in a tumbling movement, heading against the wind. Pluto was then located at 0 degrees of air sign Aquarius, just 2 degrees of zodiacal longitude below the Descendant of the moment at 2 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto was thus setting and hence highly influential on this event. (Source of sighting data; MUFON Journal, May 2023, 9.)

Pluto Conjunct the Nadir in 4 UFO Encounters 1966 – 2023

Pluto was conjunct the Nadir in the event chart for one of the world’s most compelling ufo encounters. This one occurred in the mid 1960s in Australia, and has been the subject of intense discussion and scrutiny ever since. On April 6, 1966, at 10:30 am, more than 100 students and teachers at Westall High School in Melbourne were shocked to view multiple silver disc-shaped ufos hovering and descending near their school grounds. One craft even landed in a nearby wooded area and was viewed at close range by one of the students. The whole event persisted for many minutes, offering all the witnesses an extended viewing opportunity. At the time the encounter began, Pluto was located at 16 degrees of Virgo, just 1 degree beyond the Nadir for the event moment at 15 degrees of Virgo. Pluto was therefore conjunct the Nadir and angular for this world-changing occurrence. (Source of sighting data: Ross Coulthart, In Plain Sight, 54 – 55.)

[Chart for Westall School Incident with Pluto Conjunct the Nadir.]

That same calendar year brought yet another ufo encounter which would occur while Pluto was conjunct the Nadir. In Elmer, NJ, on December 15, 1966, at 5:30 pm, four persons witnessed a triangle-shaped ufo with blinking lights as it hovered over a car on a highway, the ufo flying with the blunt edge forward, defying known principles of aeronautics. Pluto at the time was located at 21 degrees of Virgo, 6 degrees beyond the Nadir point at 15 degrees of Virgo. Pluto was thus widely conjunct the Nadir at event time and therefore can be considered angular. (Source of sighting data: David Marler, Triangular UFOs, 134 – 135.)

On March 27, 2023, at 9:38 pm in Marietta, GA, a video camera caught an image of what appears to have been a ufo concealing itself in a chemtrail or jet exhaust trail. Pluto was then located at 0 degrees of air sign Aquarius, with the Nadir of the event moment at 2 degrees of Aquarius. Pluto newly in the innovative and futuristic sign of Aquarius was thus conjunct the Nadir and therefore angular in this ufo sighting. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, May 2023, 6.)

Pluto again played a critical role in the timing of a ufo sighting which occurred on April 3, 2023, when at 8:37 pm in Holly Hill, FL, observers noted two orange boomerang-shaped ufos travelling at high speed. Pluto was located at 0 degrees of space-age Aquarius, with the Nadir of the moment positioned at 28 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto was only 2 degrees beyond the Nadir. Pluto was thus conjunct the Nadir and angular for this ufo sighting. (Source of sighting data: MUFON Journal, June 2023, 7 – 8.)

The Implications

As the 31 ufo sightings and encounters described above have demonstrated, moments of contact with a reality beyond the everyday world have taken place in many cases when the planetoid Pluto was either rising and conjunct the Ascendant, culminating or conjunct the Zenith, setting or conjunct the Descendant, or anti-culminating and hence conjunct the Nadir of the event chart.

These celestial positionings depend entirely upon the rotation of the Earth. It is the regular eastward turning of the Earth on its own axis which causes the appearance that celestial bodies rise, culminate, set, or anti-culminate. That such a fundamental astronomical movement of our own planet could be determinative for the timing of ufo sightings and encounters is a stunning thought, suggesting the notion that fundamental natural rhythms of the solar system play some role in the formation of meetings with the next levels of reality. In the case of this particular study, the implication is that opportunities to meet the next level of cosmic existence sometimes come when the planetoid Pluto has been made angular by virtue of the Earth’s normal daily rotation.

Obviously, however, stunning moments of cosmic connection do not happen every single time Pluto becomes angular in a day, nor do they occur all over our planet every day. Instead, the occurrence of such encounters is rare, even though the opportunity is abundant. All the same, the involvement of angular Pluto is impossible to ignore.

In ancient myth, Pluto is a figure linked to drastic change, thorough-going transformation, elimination of waste and detritus, and complete catharsis.

Pluto draws its astrological themes from the Greek god Hades, who is the template for the Roman deity Pluto. Hades ruled over the kingdom of the dead, and saw to it that souls in between incarnations benefitted spiritually from their time in his underground zone. Similar to purgatory but not permanent, the underground zone of Hades served as a spiritual clearing house preparatory to experiencing a next stage in existence. Still, Hades had power, and much more of it than did any of his subjects, they being the mere shades of the dead. Hades had the upper hand and could compel. As a result, Pluto in modern astrology is connected with immense power and even with coercion.

As a result, Pluto as a symbolic indicator of ufo moments could well be saying that when humans encounter these craft or whatever they may be, they are face to face with a massively superior power. We might have guessed as much.

Even so, this may not be all there is to the implications of Pluto’s position of angularity in notable ufo encounters. Much more research is needed on the relationship of celestial positioning correlated to ufo sightings and encounters, but even at this early stage, it is possible to conclude that there exists a close relationship between ufo sightings and encounters on one hand, and celestial factors on the other.

In the case of Pluto in particular, it is possible to conclude that whenever Pluto is angular, potential exists for confrontation with the extraordinary. Interestingly, Pluto is angular four times every day for a period of about 40 minutes each time, allowing a 5 degree orb before and after each angle of the chart. This means that roughly 11% of every day, the opening of a Plutonian portal into the unknown takes place. With today’s computer-based calculational capacity, these times of day can be rather conveniently pre-identified for those who wish to know.
