SEDNA 1

Nov. 19th, 2023 12:34 pm
Astrologically, Sedna represents isolation and inaccessibility; separation; having too high an opinion of oneself; aloofness or haughtiness; a refusal to “grow up” and accept adult responsibility.

In astrology, Sedna is associated with various themes, including self-reflection, introspection, and understanding oneself1. It’s also linked to surviving through catastrophes and when the person is at a low ebb1. Sedna is reflective of all kinds of sacrifices and hardships1.

However, it’s important to note that interpretations can vary among astrologers. Some associate Sedna with isolation, inaccessibility, and a refusal to “grow up” and accept adult responsibility2. Others connect Sedna with topics like sacrifice, betrayal, abandonment, survival, and fundamental fears and hurts3.

While desperation isn’t explicitly mentioned in these interpretations, the themes of isolation, sacrifice, and hardship could potentially be related to feelings of desperation. As always, the interpretation can depend on the overall context of the individual’s astrological chart.

===========================================================================

Even among the asteroids / dwarf planets, Sedna is an odd cookie. It has a hugely long orbital cycle of 11,408 years, which makes even Pluto's orbit seem speedy by comparison. That number alone may make it seem like it can be mostly ignored and/or treated like a fixed star, but... and it's a huge "but"!... its orbit is extremely elliptical. From an ephemeris point of view it takes over a millenium at the far end, but only decades at the near end. And if you haven't paid attention to Sedna at all, you might want to, because we're approaching the near end.

At that time, Sedna had only recently ingressed into Scorpio (a few decades earlier), and was at roughly 0 degrees 18 minutes. It would stay in Scorpio for roughly the next 1559 years, until 1441 BCE.

Then it was in Sagittarius for about 1417 years, until 24 BCE. Then Capricorn for 1071 years, until 1047 CE when it ingressed into Aquarius.

So far we're still over a millenium per sign, but it's been steadily falling, and now things are speeding up. It "only" stays in Aquarius for roughly 586 years, until 1633 CE. Then Pisces for 232 years, until 1864 CE when it ingressed into Aries (doing a retrograde dance until finally settling in 1867). It was there for only about 100 years until 1965 CE when it first ingressed into Taurus (finally settling in 1968), where it is now.

It won't be in Taurus for much longer, though. The first ingress into Gemini will be mid-late June 2023, and it won't dance for long; by late April 2024 it'll be firmly in Gemini until 2065... only around four decades, compared to over a millenium at its opposition. Then it'll also only be in Cancer for around four decades until 2107, when it ingresses into Leo and things start taking longer again.

So. That's the end of the data. Everything after this is speculation/discussion.

From the perspective of recorded civilization, this looks like acceleration: millenia, then centuries, then only decades. For people tied to the modern myth of perpetually-accelerating "progress", something like this would seem at a glance like a classic hockey stick of civilizational/technological/cultural advancement. And yet here we have an example of something that's still "just" cyclical, albeit an extremely long cycle with a highly elliptical orbit.

Sedna's furthest distance reaches out into interstellar space. We have no recorded history of what life was like the last time it was this close to perihelion; civilization could have come and gone twice over. And yet for people being born right now, it will progress through several signs during the course of a natural life. It could also have interactions with outer planets that could add additional unpredictability, e.g. Uranus will have a copresence and then conjunction with Sedna early in its Gemini transit, adding a new consideration to the already-volatile history of Uranus in Gemini.

It's not just a fixed star. It's sometimes epochal, and sometimes generational. And it's got more movement going on now and during this next century than we've seen since the beginning of recorded history. When combined with all the other major outer planet changes happening in 2023, I figured this shouldn't be ignored.

on it from some websites I've run across... "Move humanity to next level of cosmic awareness?..." "Co-ruler of Pisces with Neptune?" "Freedom of spirit?". I think it's possible that it starts showing up in times of enlightenment and growth maybe as a signal for letting go of old ways and starting with new and better ways born of wisdom from the harsh experiences we've been through. Pieces of ourselves can give birth to new, living things/dreams/experiences (her severed fingers turned into sea creatures) of which we have control over. We've expanded from living on an island being fed and taken care of and at the mercy of others to being a goddess and ruler of our domain.

Her feminine goddess of the sea energy, conjoined with NEPTUNE, both in the watery other-worldly Pisces, birthed Spiritualism into this world.

In some ways you can think of Sedna as the feminine form of NEPTUNE. Perhaps
in this next phase of astrology, each constellation will have two rulers! I certainly
vote for Sedna being (another) co-ruler of Pisces.

Enormous emotional energy. Feelings. Creativity. Grief. Processing. Bonding.

Interestingly, Sedna returns to her perihelion just as humanity is seemingly at it's darkest hour. Significant? I don't know. Maybe we're at out make or break it moment and she's here to offer her wisdom and experience. To "feed us with sustenance from the sea" in order to carry on.

I've only done a little reading on Sedna but I know the story, or different versions of it, and since the energy of the names and meanings behind other planets seems to play out literally then I assume Sedna's energy would do the same. She was cut off from her life as she knew it by her own father, sank to the depths, hit rock bottom and the only way to go from there was to literally go up. She came into her power, became goddess of the sea. I see this reflected in her orbit around the sun where the aphelion is hitting rock bottom, moving slower, in the dark, in the dense. Once aphelion (bottom) is hit she begins her ascent again, into her power and control, through her pain as it makes her stronger moving faster and stronger as she ascends into the light and out of the density of the depths and dark. This is a lot like what people experience when they hit rock bottom. It will either make them or break them and usually, once someone gives up and lets go completely is when there are epiphany's and revelations and healings. When you let go of everything that's been weighing you down mentally and spiritually/energetically it suddenly opens up new opportunities to heal (both body and mind) and to do and see things differently. Having gone through betrayals and illness and loss only to rise again from the depths, the depr

When Neptune conjuncts Quaoar in astrology, it signifies a significant astrological aspect that can have several interpretations. Here are a few possible meanings:

Spiritual Awakening: Neptune represents spirituality, intuition, and higher consciousness, while Quaoar signifies cosmic knowledge and the transformation of consciousness. When these two planets align, it can indicate a powerful spiritual awakening or a deepening of one's spiritual connection. It may bring a heightened sense of intuition, psychic abilities, and an expanded awareness of the spiritual realms.

Creative Inspiration: Neptune is associated with artistic expression, imagination, and creativity, while Quaoar represents innovation and unconventional thinking. The conjunction of these planets can bring a surge of creative inspiration, allowing individuals to tap into their artistic talents and express themselves in unique ways. It may also encourage the exploration of new and innovative ideas.

Healing and Compassion: Neptune represents compassion, empathy, and healing, while Quaoar signifies the healing of ancestral wounds and the integration of past experiences. When these planets come together, it can indicate a time of deep emotional healing, forgiveness, and the release of old patterns and traumas. It may also inspire a greater sense of empathy and compassion towards others.

Illusions and Deception: On the flip side, the conjunction of Neptune and Quaoar can also indicate a tendency towards illusions, deception, or confusion. It is important to maintain clarity and discernment during this aspect to avoid being misled or falling into self-deception. It may be necessary to ground oneself and seek practical solutions rather than getting lost in fantasies or wishful thinking.

Collective Consciousness: Both Neptune and Quaoar have a connection to collective consciousness and societal changes. Their conjunction can signify a period of collective transformation, where new paradigms and ideas emerge on a global scale. It may bring attention to environmental issues, social justice, and the need for greater compassion and unity among humanity.
