Indeed. Labour inherited a huge national debt from the Tories. It then proceeded to borrow even more rather than put the public finances right. And much of the Tory debt was accumulated by spending on furlough, household energy bill subsidies, NHS, welfare — on which Labour urged the Tories to spend even more!

The overwhelming majority of that borrowing we are paying vast interest on was added by Conservative Governments.
