Selena

SELENA, THE WHITE MOON, POSITIONED IN GEMINI

This person understands others. Another quality, which also helps to form a positive karma is lightness. This person is always eager to learn, to discover, to perceive the surrounding world, to communicate, and to share perception. All this helps to get out of the destiny’s trap, difficult situations and discriminate between good and bad, useful and useless. It is essential to preserve objectivity, the truth search, and impersonality. All this will make the world a fertile land, which will provide the basis for the welfare and existence of this person. Selena in Gemini indicates the positive karma of a mediator.
The air element, lightness, and wings are luring a person, whose Selena is in Gemini. This person is willing to fly in a direct and indirect sense! These persons are inventors and world improvers. They are ‘Icaruses’ by nature. They feel the open space and the laws of aerodynamics. All this reflects the spirit of bicycles, roller-skates, trains, airplanes, air balloons, cars, sailing boats, windsurfing boards, and helicopters. These persons admire devices which make this world more colorful, lighter, and faster…
These persons often have a special relation to birds. A person whose Selena is in Gemini adorns the world with his lightness and purity. His presence brings a new perspective to things. It would be forgivable if he became a tireless chatterer or a news bringer. God entitled him to pass news. This is his bright karma. Selena in Gemini reflects occupations linked to post, telephone, media, roads, communication, news transmission, mediation, trade, and primary education. Unconquerable curiosity is also linked to the bright side of Gemini.
This person will lose the protection of Selena if he avoids truth, distorts information, gives false promises or oaths, violates agreements, or uses abusive language. It is important that this person developed rational mind, logics, and preserved the learner’s position. The following occupations are advisable: courier, postman, scientist, journalist, writer, educator, linguist, translator, pilot, and tradesman. Crafts, numerology, informatics, mathematical theories, geometry, tricks may also provide lots of joy and benefit if intellect is sufficiently developed, if the person is wise enough not to deify numbers and not to become a charlatan. It is especially important to avoid these extremes, because they express Lilith, the Black Moon.
Fresh air and wind may provide you with pleasure and support. Those who have strong Selena may be willing to live somewhere high or climb and swing on a tree. Bright blue, yellow, white, bright green, orange, and various combinations of transparent colors and light forms reflect Selena in Gemini. Mercury is the ruling planet of Gemini. Mercury’s exaltation place is also here. Therefore Selena in Gemini reveals the developed control of Mercury’s potential.
The United States of America, Greece, Cyprus, and Armenia are the most vivid countries of Gemini.

Angel: HAAMIAH (HE-AH-mee-YAH) Ritual and ceremony

Libra 6. On a long VOYAGE, many icebergs encountered. (Omega Symbol) Interacting/Experimental

(Degree Angel: Mikael (MI-ka-EL) Revealing the Concealed, Political Authority and Order)

You do not operate by agendas, for you are always aware that everything is changing, and so the path ahead also changes. You sense the feelings of everyone around you, especially the emotional places of blockage and pain, and know how to move with and through these in a smooth, almost invisible manner. You have the potential of getting a tremendous amount of things accomplished, albeit usually slowly and gradually.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A baby with two sets of teeth.” This degree has a great desire to take in nourishment from all its relationships. It's question is always “of what value is this encounter to me – what can I give to it, and what can I get from it?” It senses the spiritual truth that nothing comes its way that is not for the purpose of furthering its spiritual development, and so it is eager to assimilate experiences, to “chew on” them so as to get the most nutritional benefit out of them possible. It doesn't like let go of anything until it understands it, or at least feels it has gotten something of what it needs from it.

All of this is carried out in a very innocent, open manner that will inevitably lead to the problems alluded to by the icebergs of the Omega Symbol, but which can benefit the soul tremendously.

Pleiadian Symbol: A wandering landscape searching for a canvas on which to dwell.

Azoth Symbol: At land's end a high rock and on it a tower.

Seed degree: Gemini 6. In the far north an ancient tower carved of ice. (Omega Symbol). Going to a place of stillness and calm where we can view existence from a higher perspective gives us the energy and focus needed to thread our way through life's difficulties and challenges.

A claw foot holding a ball. (Chandra Symbol). When we have been able to intuitively grasp the essence of knowledge in all its perfection, we next seek out ways to assimilate it so that it become a part of us. And we feel a drive to do this in such a way that we do not become one-sided in our experience of it, but are always maintaining a sense of the mystic duality of all truth.

Fulfillment degree: Virgo 16. A woman cutting the thorns off roses. (Omega Symbol). Having moved through so many difficulties and learned the art of avoiding obstructions, we feel a need to facilitate the flowering of love and to protect others from potentially dangerous influences.

A jar of camphor crystals. (Chandra Symbols). Our innocent desires to deeply assimilate experiences and to understand how everything has two sides develops in us the power to ward off all discordant influences.

Oracle

It should have been a frightening experience, its dangers harrowing, but, luckily, the ship was a ghost ship.

And, since it had no schedule to maintain, it was free to stop at any and all icebergs that captured the travelers' fancies, allowing them to disembark and sun themselves on the melting slopes, or bask in the deeps of night in moonlight, which was, in the open sea and on the bergs, at its most oceaniclly bluest.

-------------------------------

Libra 7. The Great Wall of China making a huge shadow. (Omega Symbol) Interacting/Sensitive

(Degree Angel: Veuliah (vay-OO-lee-AH) Defying Gravity, Prosperity)

You are aware of all the limits around you as well as within you. On the one hand you are intensely concerned with maintaining your own integrity by holding out all that might try to compel you to be other than what you are. On the other hand you can become quite frustrated with the restrictions you find everywhere. Your acute awareness of all life’s edges and boundaries can make you feel inpossibly limited but it can also imbue you with the ability to relate in a highly clear and focused manner.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “A group of old ladies gossiping excitedly.” The ladies of this symbol are talking about limits – the limits of decency, the limits imposed by social mores, about people pushing and transgressing limits, and about the limited information they have as well as the desire to have more of it. And, of course, the wall in the Omega Symbol represents a great edifice devoted to limits that is casting its shadow over everything. Relationships are all about interacting within limits. It is a testing of our limits to see where they are and maybe to push them back to make more room for ourselves. It is through encountering, assessing and working with these limits that we come to know ourselves as well as others more clearly, and, based on this, define a path forward.

Pleiadian Symbol: A baby phoenix crawling forth from the ashes of its parent.

Azoth Symbol: A pictographic inscription in a tomb.

Seed degree: Gemini 19. The Golden Fleece hanging in a garden. (Omega Symbol). Sensing deeply our own destiny, which is the attainment of enlightenment, we become acutely aware of all that restricts us, encloses us, and prevents us from achieving freedom.

Strange creatures peaking out from behind trees. (Chandra Symbol). Sensing the great variety of nature spirits living everywhere, we are stimulated to exchange information with others in the hopes of more completely understanding the hidden energies at work all around us.

Fulfillment degree: Libra 16. After many revisions, a poem is thrown away. (Omega Symbol).Understanding all the various ways we are affected by obstructions and limitations helps us to abandon, when we need to, those projects which, although we have learned from them, we no longer need to pursue. Another way of expressing this is that limitations always teach us non-attachment.

A woman: The lower half of her body is a serpent. (Chandra Symbol).
The mind's curiosity leads it eventually into the realm of profound intuitive wisdom – a power to be respected, and which one must beware of misusing.

Oracle

He walked away as the sun set, leaving the wall's shadow behind him, knowing, as night drew on, it would eventually catch up and, overtaking him, engulf his own shadow, the two shadows growing gigantic as the merged with each other, and with the night.

The space between stars teaches us the vastness of all shadows.
Chandra Symbol: “A hamster running in a treadmill.” This symbolizes a situation where there is a lot of ACTIVITY, but it might NOT LEAD ANYWHERE significant - much like a hamster running endlessly on a wheel. It suggests a state of being where actions are driven by INSTINCT, without much thought for the future. Despite this, there is a positive aspect in the form of simplicity, directness, and the potential to inspire others to action. = FUSS ABOUT BIDEN -Sat in Uranus st.

WHO ANNOUNCE COVID

Today, March 11, the World Health Organization declared Covid19/coronavirus a pandemic. The declaration was made in Geneva, Switzerland,
and the time of the Tweet was 9:26:53 Pacific time, 16:26:53 UK time, 17:26:53
Geneva time. One can argue on the precise timing, and perhaps discuss the
press conference when it was announced, but in the digital age Tweets can be of
symbolic importance. So at least from a Twitter perspective, 17:26:53 was the
moment that Covid-19 stepped in the limelight, elevated to the status of
pandemic. This is the chart, set for Geneva, with Witte’s hypothetical planets
included:

Turning to the hypothetical planets, Admetos is the most elevated planet in the
chart – in other words the planet closes to the Midheaven. In Greek legend,
Admetos is the king who wants to postpone his death, even if that means
younger people dying in his place. One gets the image of old men hanging on to
power, and refusing to take the proper steps to deal with the situation – because
they are afraid of losing political power. Also, Saturn and Admetos are in trine
aspect, with zero degrees Aries on the midpoint. This gives us the midpoint AR
= SA/AD. Witte and Lefeldt wrote of this combination “General shrinkage,
hindrance and lack”. This combinations tells us about what is going on in the
world. We’re moving into recession.

According to Carol Rushman, individuals who have the 7th degree in the zodiac signs of Virgo or Pisces may exhibit tendencies that lean towards promiscuity. Rushman goes on to elaborate that when a planet aligns with this specific degree within the signs of Virgo or Pisces, it can trigger a proclivity for clandestine love affairs. For reasons yet unknown, it appears to awaken a hidden aspect within the individual, prompting them to pursue relationships or affairs that are discreet and often kept secret from the public eye.

The author also identifies critical degrees as potential triggers for crises in an individual’s life. The degrees she pinpoints vary across the different modalities of the zodiac signs. In the cardinal signs, these crucial degrees are situated at 0, 13, and 26. Within the fixed signs, they are positioned at 8-9 and 21-22, and in the mutable signs, they are located at 4 and 17.

Moreover, Rushman emphasizes that degrees 0 and 29, regardless of the modality of the zodiac sign, carry an amplified intensity. These degrees seem to magnify the circumstances surrounding crucial areas of an individual’s life, potentially leading to significant shifts, challenges, or revelations.

When I’m doing a chart and I see planets at 27, 28, and 29 degrees, I make a note because this person has the potential to achieve something special. I have had many clients who have planets at these degrees who are very rich. I have a lot of millionaire clients who have enormous real estate holding, with their Sun at 29 Cancer. One year I had two students in one of my classes who both had their Sun at 29 Cancer (family) who were blessed with inherited wealth. One had a family farm, and the land was developed into a commercial project that catapulted her into the millionaire category. The other student inherited family real estate and the family business. I have another client who is a multimillionaire with Saturn at 29 Capricorn (Capricorn needs to build and rules construction). He started a small construction company that grew to be a large internal business. I have seen 29 Taurus and Scorpio also indicate bankruptcy. These two signs can either go to extreme wealth or financial disaster.

Weak or Powerful Degrees?
Pat Geisler delves into the deeper implications of a planet positioned at the 29th degree in her book “Plain Vanilla Astrologer.” The astrologer examines the potential challenges and influences linked to this pivotal degree, offering insights into various aspects of an individual’s life. According to Geisler’s exploration, the 29th degree holds a distinct significance due to its position as the final degree within a zodiac sign. This makes it a point of transition, representing the completion of a cycle and the imminent shift into a new phase.

However, instead of emphasizing new beginnings, the focus on the waning impact of this degree, suggesting that it can bring about certain challenges. One of the primary areas of concern is the potential for health issues when a planet is situated at the 29th degree.

The 29th degree may point to challenges or fluctuations in financial matters, requiring individuals to handle economic uncertainties with prudence and resourcefulness. Mental stability is another facet that Geisler connects with the 29th degree. Its positioning could suggest periods of mental turbulence or uncertainty, urging individuals to develop coping strategies and seek stability.

Trust your own judgment when looking at your chart or someone else’s. Degree theories come from an astrologer’s research, so it’s a good idea to do your own studies to check if they make sense to you. Geisler’s ideas might not match what you see, so it’s important to verify things yourself. The interpretations might focus on critical areas like money, health, and mental well-being, which are generally important in anyone’s life.

For the Sun, Geisler suggests that the 29th degree could be linked to a propensity to remain unmarried or to face particular challenges within marital relationships, encouraging a deeper understanding of personal identity and relationship dynamics. The Moon’s association with the 29th degree brings attention to potential struggles with effective parenting, emotional growth, and even fertility and childbirth. These challenges may prompt individuals to address emotional and nurturing aspects of their lives with heightened awareness. Venus’s connection to the 29th degree draws focus to potential diminishing interest in matters of sensuality and music. This could lead individuals to explore avenues for revitalizing their connection to pleasure and artistic expression.

What I think it means is that such people have major shifts that happen in their lifetimes in the areas ruled by those planets in those last degrees. I think the 29th degree always points to an element of difficulty. The 29th degree is a degree of being “worn out” or sometimes shows a planet there lacking in ability to manifest smoothly. It can show difficulties in functioning in the normal way. There can be dramatic climbs to the top and sudden falls. It’s as if the 29th degree is the straw of the old and the individual looks forward to the new sign and planets which often express something new from the oncoming sign far more openly than the previous one. Let’s start with the Sun. In a man’s chart it is his identity, his career and his health. The 29th degree shows at some point there will be a major decision which will alter his career path. It will not be merely a new job but a whole new direction and an actual change of career. It may also imply poor decision making. Or poor timing. It’s a good idea to think of the beginning of the sign as the strongest area of it – or the place where its qualities manifest the most purely. Any planet at the 29th degree in my opinion acts weakly in terms of the sign’s qualities and presents the chart with a fuzzy image of that area of life or the people it represents. Example: Women with Suns in 29 degrees plus minutes often marry men who mean well but who are – in some way – somewhat ineffectual. They may have trouble keeping a good job, or their parenting skills are non existent, or they are born followers, or too passive, or have emotional problems or something. Maybe they just can’t manage money and screw up the budget until you take it away from them, but they lack something noticeably. I mentioned that women with the Sun in the 29th degree may have passive or ineffectual husbands. I used those terms as examples of possible problems – not the only ones. I would not have wanted the man Rose Kennedy married no matter how rich and powerful he was – he was apparently not a very nice man and made her life miserable, according to stories written about him. Her Sun was in 29 degrees…There are a surprising number of famous people with 29 degree Suns. Actress Goldie Hawn’s “husband” isn’t legit. She and Kurt Russel have yet to formalize a life situation of many years that leaves all their grown children technically bastards. And yes, I know – it’s fashionable nowadays to have children out of wedlock, but who doesn’t love who enough in these deals?” By Pat Geisler, The Vanilla Astrologer

Richard Idemon has interesting insights about the Moon positioned at the critical 29th degree.

I find in my experience, that Moon in 29th degree is not an easy placement. Of all planets, the Moon in that shaky 29th degree says to me that on some level an early life experience, something connected with the nurturing, with feeding, with the basic security system, is awry. Remember we said that the 29th degree has a rather Neptunian cast to it anyway. There’s a shakiness. I suspect something of damage potentially in the 29th degree, not necessarily irreparable, but when it is the Moon, and especially the Moon from the 4th house, I’m wondering if it indicates something inherited from the past. I don’t want to get into issues of Karma or destiny because I think that’s a little presumptuous to assume. But, whatever it may be, this 29th degree Moon as ruler of the 4th house does indicate something inherited from the past.

Astrology Degrees
C.E.O Carter’s An Encyclopedia of Psychological Astrology is based on some degree work. Carter lists degrees for those associated with astrology as being around 27 Leo-Aquarius.

11 degrees Virgo-Pisces are also important.

Liz Greene, one of the most popular psychology astrologers, has the Sun in Virgo at 11 degrees.

Carol Rushman says that 24 degrees of Cancer is regarded as an astrologer’s degree.

Cardinal Signs:
5-degree planets in Aries-Libra may show cruelty and homicidal tendency.

If you are going to get murdered (you’re awake now!) charts generally show afflictions in one or more of the cardinals, about 17 degrees of the cardinals, and the end of the fixed signs (less common).

7 degrees Capricorn gives great speaking ability.

Immoral souls (like most of us) have 8 degrees Aries-Libra.

8 degrees Cancer-Capricorn is for paralysis.

11 degrees Cancer for Alcoholism.

15 degrees cardinals are the suicides.

22 degrees Libra for artistic ability.

24 degrees of the cardinals for music ability.

Fixed Signs:
Planets at the beginning of Aquarius for obesity.

6 degrees Scorpio for a love of the sea.

9 degrees fixed signs for alcoholism.

16 degrees Taurus for homicidal tendency.

20-25 degrees of the fixed signs for homicidal tendencies.

25 degrees of the fixed for alcoholism or suicide.

Mutable Signs:
6-degrees Gemini-Sagittarius for morbid fears.

9 degrees mutable for homicidal tendency.

22 mutable for insanity
(The Moon in my natal chart is on a crazy degree! Maybe I veered off course at 22 and landed in Crazytown, or perhaps I’m committed to being a nut for the next 22 years. Who can say for sure? Don’t you just love what astrology unveils about your personality?)

26 degrees mutable for suicide.

Charles Carter also says this about the degrees in the natal chart:

No attempt is given for reasons for the connection between these areas and certain effects, nor can you always understand why the same area should produce apparently quite unrelated results. Our knowledge of the influences is still empirical and is only in the earliest stage from even that point of view. Future research may explain the basis of these facts.

How Degrees Can Affect House Cusp Interpretation
The degrees on the house cusps provide additional insights into an individual’s life experiences and the energy associated with a particular house. The degree represents the position of the zodiac sign at the time of birth and determines the characteristics and qualities of the house.

For example, if the cusp of the first house falls at 15 degrees of Aries, it suggests that the individual’s self-image and physical appearance are strongly influenced by the assertive and independent qualities associated with Aries. The degree can also indicate the strength and intensity of the energy related to that house.

Degree Range Interpretation
0-9 degrees Beginnings, new experiences, and fresh perspectives
10-19 degrees Development, growth, and expansion
20-29 degrees Culmination, completion, and transitions
The table above provides a general interpretation of the different degree ranges on the house cusps. However, it’s important to note that individual birth charts and planetary placements can modify these interpretations.

By analyzing the degrees on the house cusps, astrologers can gain a deeper understanding of an individual’s life path and the potential challenges and opportunities they may encounter in various areas of life. It allows for a more nuanced interpretation of the birth chart and helps individuals navigate their lives with self-awareness and purpose.

The Importance of House Cusps and Degrees
House cusps play a crucial role in astrology as they mark the beginning of each house in an astrological chart. The cusp is the dividing line between two houses, and the degrees of the cusps hold significant meaning in interpreting a birth chart. Let’s delve deeper into the importance of house cusps and degrees in astrology.

Definition of House Cusps
House cusps are the points where the cusps of each house intersect the zodiac wheel. These points are determined by the astrological system being used, such as the Placidus, Koch, or Whole Sign house systems. Each house represents a different area of life, such as relationships, career, or spirituality. The placement of planets and other celestial bodies in each house provides insights into the individual’s experiences and behaviors related to that specific area.

How Degrees Can Affect the Interpretation of House Cusps
The degrees of the cusps in a birth chart can offer valuable information about the intensity and characteristics of the corresponding house. For example, if the cusp of the second house, which represents personal finances and material possessions, is located at 15 degrees of Taurus, it suggests a strong emphasis on stability and security in the person’s financial matters.

Furthermore, the aspects formed between the cusps and other planets or points in the birth chart can also provide additional insights into the individual’s experiences in each area of life. For instance, if the cusp of the seventh house, which represents partnerships and relationships, forms a square aspect with the planet Mars, it may indicate potential conflicts or challenges in the person’s romantic or business relationships.

Using Degrees to Determine House Rulership
In addition to their significance in interpreting the characteristics of each house, degrees also play a role in determining the ruling planet of a particular house. Each zodiac sign has a specific degree range, and when a house cusp falls within that range, it is said to be ruled by the sign associated with that degree range.

For example, if the cusp of the fifth house, which represents creativity and self-expression, is at 25 degrees of Leo, it would be ruled by the Sun, as Leo is associated with the Sun. Understanding the ruling planet of each house can provide further insights into the individual’s motivations and desires related to that specific area of life.
How To Interpret Planets On House Cusps
by Robert Wilkinson

Over the years I've had many ask me how a planet works when it's in two different houses depending on which house division system is used. Today we take a look at how a planet in a cusp zone works.

This subject deals with situations where a planet could be in either the second or third house depending on whether we are using Placidus, Porphyry, Koch, Equal, or some other way of dividing the circle into 12 parts. In other words, if our Uranus is in the 5th house using one system and in the 6th using another, what does this mean?

Actually this is a very common occurrence, due to intercepted signs and a wide divergence in the size of houses based in where we were born. Astrologers will note that the sizes of the quadrants skews fairly widely the further we are from the equator. Therefore there are many on Earth who have houses that diverge from the ideal width of 28-32 degrees.

This creates situations where our Sun may be in the 8th according to one house system, but may be in the 9th using another. The question of how a planet functions when it could be in one or another house can be easily resolved by examining what creates the phenomenon so that we can understand possible meanings when we see this in a birth chart.

First, let's examine the different meanings of planets, houses, and cusps. The planets symbolize our inner functions, or "lights," of personality, from the innermost sensitivities and feelings (the Moon) to the outermost transpersonal transformative forces beyond our control (Pluto). The houses are the areas of our experience in the outer world, and cusps (where a house begins and where it ends) are the edges of where the houses touch each other.

So how do we interpret the possible meanings of when a planet falls on the cusp of a house? Furthermore, how do we interpret the planetary influence when the cusps change degrees due to different house systems in use, shifting the planet from one house to the adjacent house?

One of the first things I learned is that only the Ascendant-Descendant axis and the Midheaven-Nadir axis are set by the time of birth. All other house cusps are determined by whether we use a space-based system of dividing quadrants, a time-based system of division, or a space-time system of division. (A complete exploration of all possible house division systems is way outside the scope of this article, and would bore most readers.)

Depending on which system(s) we use, we'll get a variety of points that mark the cusps of the houses. Some are fairly close to each other, while some systems produce different signs on different houses than other systems (though never more than one sign apart except in very high latitudes.) We all have all the signs in our chart somewhere, and if the cusps involve the very early or very late degrees of a sign, at least two houses usually will have two different signs on their cusps. (As noted, it could have three possible signs on its cusp if we're born in extreme North or South latitude.)

To offer an example: I have Leo rising with either late Virgo or early Libra on the 3rd house, late Pisces or early Aries on the 9th, depending on which house division system I use. Many times in charts I've read I've seen cusp spans as wide as 20 degrees involving two signs, even wider in extreme latitudes. You can see how this could set up some dilemmas in how to interpret what rules the house, and how to sort through the various influences of different planets straddling two houses.

Why is knowing what house(s) a planet affects important? Well, besides showing us our areas of self-realization through various experiences associated with those houses, it can also help us understand why we have certain major lessons to learn from one area and not another.

If a planet is solidly in one house, then it shows us our inner "light" lessons associated with events connected with that house. A planet on a cusp area is involved in our lessons in both houses rather than just one, since then it's triggered as either an entry or exit energy.

But if it occupies a degree that puts it in one house in one system and an adjacent house in another system, then that planetary function involves how those adjacent houses affect each other. Rather than being in one or the other, it's actually in both simultaneously.

In my own chart, when I first computed it I found that if I used the Placidus house system, my Saturn is in the 3rd house. But if I use other systems, such as Porphyry or Equal, it is in the 2nd house. That led me to the question, which house is my Saturn actually in?

When I read the texts, it seemed as though I have elements in my life of both positions. I can definitely identify with Saturn in the 2nd, as well as Saturn in the 3rd. So I began to explore the deeper meaning of the houses, and came up with a system that has worked for me for many years, and satisfies most of my clients who wonder why certain things are so apparently contradictory in their lives, or why they have major life experiences that are similar but came about through different arenas in their life activities.

Simply put, when I look at charts, I use two (or at times even three) systems of house division at the same time. This gives me a span of degrees between houses, a zone where the two houses touch each other and overlap to an extent, just as the areas of our lives often overlap somewhat. The span is defined by the gap between the two systems yielding the widest result.

Thus the zone between my 2nd and 3rd houses extends between 28 Virgo (Placidus) to 11 Libra (Equal). Anything that transits that zone exerts an influence in both houses, and blends those two areas of my life. Since that is true for my 2nd and 3rd houses, it is also true that the zone between my 8th and 9th houses covers the area between 28 Pisces and 11 Aries. There are other zones between houses, some wider, some narrower, depending on many variables.

When a planet falls in the zone where two houses overlap, that planetary function learns in both areas and has an impact in both areas. It is no longer simply that we have a part of us that is identified with one area more than others; we have to learn how those areas interrelate through the lessons and qualities of that planet.

To offer a musical analogy, the frets on a guitar neck are unnecessary to play the instrument. A note is a note, However, there are zones where by sliding up or down the string you move into areas showing the subtle differences between the whole notes.

As we move from A through A-sharp into B-flat and B we find both obvious and subtle distinctions, So it is as we move from 2nd house experiences through where the 2nd and 3rd influence each other into our 3rd house experiences.

Taking this approach makes apparent contradictions in the planetary birth positions as well as the progressions and transits more easy to understand. It can also help us understand why, after spending many years in one of our houses, a slow-moving planet begins to affect the neighboring area while still exerting an influence in the old area, and over time seems to link those parts of our lives together in a set of lessons.

Hi Robert, thank you for this articles and all your others. I came to here from intercepted signs. I have aquarius on the ascendant and pieces intercepted in the first house (so leo on the descendant and virgo intercepted in the 7th house. Then depending on the system I have capricorn on 11th and 12th house cusps (and about 5 planets in capricorn including my sun) and cancer on 5th and 6th house cusps. Or Aquarius on 12th and 1st house cusps and Leo on 6th and 7th. I was wondering if you have any insights into this?

Thank you so much

A very fine article, Robert, and my experience with clients confirms what you're saying about a planet on the cusp affecting both houses. For example, a woman with the Moon on the cusp of the 11th-12th might find that she has many women friends AND that many of these friendships were with women coworkers or colleagues. Hi Christine - You're most welcome. What you want is beyond my ability to do in any depth in this comment stream. That said, imagine you have an Aquarian self image to express, but with buried Pisces subtones. You would be naturally attracted to Leo, but only those with a strong Virgo subtone. Aquarius always has Capricorn as its 12th sign, regardless of other personal factors. With a stellium crossing the 11/12 sectors, your friends could be a source of sorrow or rewards, and clearly you're here to do some form of group work, both publicly and privately. When you have the same sign on two consecutive houses, they are ruled by the same energies, where the preceding house sets the tone for the subsequent house. When two consecutive houses both have the same sign on the cusp, it also indicates a very narrow span of experience in those houses, with a very wide experience in the houses that have intercepted signs.

Hi caliban - Venus on the cusp of the 8/9 shows your desires will lead you to truths, your losses will show you a greater Venusian adventure, and through valuing what others value, you will be able to harmonize their mind.

Hi Aquarlis Virmoon - Yes, in the sense that each symbol is the preparation for the next, or the result of the previous one. Studying the "formulas" offered by Dr. Jones in the original work will make this clearer. Plus in any five fold sequences, there is 1) the initial pulse, 2) the counter/contrasting pulse, 3) the synthesis of the first two, 4) the technique developed out of the synthesized understanding, and 5) the fulfillment of the sequence. I also feel the musical analogy applies very nicely to the aspects.

Hi Donna Cunningham - Thanks for checking in and confirming what is put forth here. For someone with Moon bridging 11/12, I would say to make their friends their family, and watch out for family members creating sorrow or inner turmoil due to karmic connections. While it could show continuity of Soul connect with family members, it could also show the need to find closure rituals to take care of security needs.

Scorpio 3 shows a remarkable patient trait to work on something slowly, gradually, plus a willingness to work with other people to get something done.

This is the Many hands make for light work degree.

It is believed the trigger that caused the rift to develop between William and Harry was when the Duke of Cambridge advised his younger sibling to 'take things slow' when he first began dating Meghan Markle in 2017.

Relations became so sour that they reportedly didn't talk for weeks after Harry's wedding, where William was best man. Then Megxit, and the way it was handled, left William and Charles devastated.

In a documentary in 2019 - Harry & Meghan: An African Journey - the Duke of Sussex, admitted he and William are 'certainly on different paths at the moment'.

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CHANGING HOUSES CUSPS IN PREDICTIVE WORK
When looking at secondary progressions, it is common practice to look at the progressed Ascendant and Midheaven. However, I find it very helpful in predictive work to examine all of the progressed house cusps.

astro-chart-significanceIn a natal chart, each cusp serves as the gateway into a house that rules certain life areas and activities. Houses operate in pairs, and the degrees on a house cusp will always mirror the degree on its opposite cusp. Therefore, if the second house is 18 degrees of Taurus, the eighth house will be 18 degrees of Scorpio. The sign on each cusp describes the individual's attitude and approach towards the areas ruled by that particular house.

Since house cusps are connected to the life areas and activities ruled by the house, it is important to note when they change signs by progression, because it heralds the beginning of a major cycle in a person's life and describes the type of events that are going to unfold.

Whenever I see that a house cusp has reached 29 degrees by progression, a red alert sounds in my head because I know the client is on the verge of a new cycle. Oftentimes, the person is starting to feel that something's coming, something big but they lack any sense of definition or clarity.

When the house cusps move from 29 degrees of one sign to 0 degrees of the new sign, the transition connected to the affairs of the affected houses actually begins.

For example, if the tenth (career) house changes signs, there is likely to be a career change, and since the houses operate in pairs, the fourth house (home) has also changed signs, so one's home may be affected as well. For example, the person may be relocating for a new job or perhaps their commute from home is affected. Depending upon the person's circumstances, it could signal they are going to retire.

Similarly, when the first (self) and seventh (marriage) houses change signs, the person may begin or end a significant relationship. It is very common for these house cusps to be active when people get married or divorced.

In terms of timing, my experience is that by the time a house cusp reaches two degrees, significant changes have occurred in the person's life, and by the time it reaches three degrees, the changes are well established.

I have also found that progressed house cusps frequently indicate major events when they aspect natal planets by conjunction.

Finally, although progressions are an important part of predictive work, one must always consider the transits, as well as the natal promise contained within the chart, in order to render an accurate forecast.
