PROFECTION CHARTS

Right I've got it!

In short the first method is to use the natal chart ASC and the 2nd the Profected ASC chart.

Then move both ASC's forwards monthly (by 30 degrees).

So I just changed the sign names on a paper copy of my natal chart start with Virog on the ASC. Then I did rough arrows for the outer planet transits (as they don't move very quickly).

Then I looked up each planetto see if they had any DIGNITY etc in their new sign.

Re: Profecting charts
Yes, I find profection to be the most accurate of our predictive tools working from the natal chart (with simple symbolic progression coming in a close second, and the 2 worked together really productive of impressive results); the question is which system of profection to follow-Solar Fire I believe uses the Egyptian method, counting the birth ascending sign as year 0; probably 99% of those using profection follow this method: I have had good results with it too, but have come to prefer the Pauline profection as I have described it in earlier posts.
With Egyptian profection the ascendant (1st natal house) comes back around at ages 12, 24, 36, 48, 60, 72 and 84 years of age.

In the lesser known Pauline profection the ascendant (1st natal house) comes back around at ages 13, 25, 37, 49, 61, 73 and 85 years of age.

So, at age 42, by the generally followed Egyptian profection method the ascendant for the 42nd year would be in the natal 7th; however in Pauline profection the ascendant for the 42nd year would fall in the natal 6th house.

Profecting monthly, I moved the profected ASC 30 degrees each month which would roughly mean the Profected ASC was at 26 degree Aries on the Aug 11 h (ie: six on this from my birthday on Feb 11t) 26 degree Libra

LOY

For each year of your life a particular house theme is brought to the fore, and the ruler of that house is made Lord of the Year (LoY). By examining its natal condition, its solar return condition and then watching aspects and ingresses and stations etc that it makes we can begin to forecast.
When doing Annual Profections, always interpret the Lord of the Year from 3 positions

- What sign/house its in the natal
- What house that is relative to the profected sign
- What house that is relative to the Revolution ASC

For example, I have Jupiter in Cancer in the Natal, and Jupiter in Aries in the Revolution.

The profection for me came to Pisces and the Solar Revolution ASC is in Cancer, the natal ASC is Gemini

So Jupiter in Aries was in the Natal 11th, Profected 2nd, and Revolution 10th

This means Jupiter brought an increase in my community, friends and partnerships (11H natal) which also resulted in an improvement of finances and livelihood (2H Profected), through matters of career and reputation (10H SR)

So observing over thr course of the year, it seems the LOY as ruling planet of the profected house clearly manifests stronger than the handed over planet. But manifesting the Solar Return placement qualities (sign and house) rather than natal.

The ruling planet still seems to be the primary LOY, and any handed over planets become the drivers that activate and manifest events (via transits to both natal and SR)

Another major factor - look at the natal house that is profected. That really does count! And lends a major influence in themes of events.

Also, look at both Placidus and Whole signs to get the blended meaning. But for primary houses, I would argue Placidus first.

This year was LOY B, 8th house profection (but of course!), placed in SR g in Placidus 4th, but Whole sign 3rd.

Handed over planet was E

When we had Cg Retrograde, also D and especially E transit g, it literally supercharged my SR Bg Shocked made it Bg on steroids! Even though it was 4th house SR, it had a notably 8th house tone.

Eclipses have been especially notable too this year.
