Emotional Tension and Disruption:
july 22nd 2025

The progressed Moon governs your evolving emotional state and inner needs. Squaring Gonggong suggests a period where your emotional security is challenged by chaotic or unpredictable forces. Gonggong’s energy may manifest as sudden emotional upheavals, intense feelings, or a pull toward confronting suppressed issues.

You might feel caught between a desire for emotional stability and unexpected disruptions, possibly related to relationships, home life, or personal identity. This could feel like an inner storm, pushing you to address buried emotions or unresolved conflicts.

Transformative Emotional Challenges:
Gonggong’s mythological association with flooding and chaos (from Chinese mythology) suggests that this square could bring emotional “floods” or overwhelming situations that force transformation. The square creates friction, meaning you may need to work through discomfort to achieve emotional growth.

For example, you might encounter a situation where your emotional needs (Moon) clash with external chaos or collective pressures (Gonggong), such as family dynamics, societal shifts, or unexpected changes in your environment.
Pluto: Represents transformation, power, and deep psychological forces. Its energy is intense and can be associated with upheaval, destruction (to rebuild), or control. If negatively aspected or in a tense midpoint structure, Pluto’s influence might manifest as manipulative, coercive, or extreme behavior, which could be perceived as violent in extreme cases. However, this is not its default nature—Pluto is more about profound change.

Zeus: Symbolizes directed energy, leadership, creativity, and procreation, often with a fiery, assertive quality. It’s associated with drive and ambition, but in challenging configurations, it can indicate impulsiveness, aggression, or a domineering attitude. Zeus is linked to "force" (e.g., military or creative energy), so in rare, poorly integrated cases, this could lean toward conflict or violence.

The Pluto/Zeus midpoint itself combines these energies, potentially amplifying intensity, power struggles, or forceful transformation. If this midpoint is activated by harsh aspects (e.g., with Mars or Kronos) or in a volatile chart, it might suggest a potential for aggressive or "violent" expressions, such as intense confrontations or radical shifts. However, violence is not a guaranteed outcome—it depends on the individual’s chart, free will, and how these energies are channeled.

Detachment and separation are in fact major themes during the progressed Full Moon. The distance between the Sun and Moon is now at its maximum and this may lead to polarization in our lives at this stage. We may think in black and white and wish to shed that part of us we feel is evil, heinous or destructive. We want to rid ourselves of our demons and to leave our old life as far behind us as we possibly can. I know several people who decided to emigrate at this phase, others who felt they should at least take a trip round the world. At the MC, we are opposite the 4th house and so the Full Moon may find us very far from home. For children it is not uncommon to experience their parents’ divorce at this stage: their father and mother are now worlds apart.

This ultimate separation also occurs during the shamanic quest for a healing or revitalising vision. After mortification or even (apparent) death of the body, the spirit is released and able to travel to other spheres; it may ascend to the heavens or descend into the underworld of the ancestors; in astrological terms: to travel up or down the world axis of the MC/IC. In fact, the crest of the wave as seen in the diagram represents the point of greatest enlightenment. At the Full Moon both solar and lunar forces are at their peak. The Moon is at its most visible and dramatic as it reflects the Sun’s light with maximum effect, while the MC is the Sun’s province, the point of noon where the Moses receives the ten commandmentsSun reaches its highest position in the sky. With all this light, we must see clearly. It is for this reason that the Full Moon is often quoted as being a time for visions and revelations. We are on top of the world, talking to the gods. The religious quest and spiritual fervour of the ninth house and Gibbous phase now crystallize into a concrete vision, conversion or articles of faith. Clearly this is the moment when Moses receives the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinaï or when Christ is crucified on Mount Golgotha. According to legend it was also during a Full Moon that Siddharta liberated himself from all worldly illusions and became the realized Buddha.

For some of us the awe we experience during the late Gibbous and early Full Moon phase can be such an inspiration that we find our vocation and a career direction. At his first progressed Full Moon a six year old Neil Armstrong was taken up in a small aircraft and fell in love with space and flying. His second, thirty years later, found him in outer space on the Gemini 8 mission, very far away from home indeed.

The Progressed Disseminating Moon
(225°-269°)
Disseminating MoonAt the Disseminating phase we often see the beginning of the ‘going home’ theme that characterizes the second half of the cycle. Whereas in the first half we were busy leaving home and breaking free from the past, after the Full Moon we have to return, bringing with us, however, our experience and insights to change and improve the situation or place we came from. In this way we revisit the past and change it at the same time.

We are now in the 11th and 12th house and so the result of the Full Moon must somehow be assimilated by the collective. We must share our illuminations or success with others. This is when Moses comes down the mountain with the stone tablets to give them to his people. Similarly, if we have just spent a year in India with our Guru, now we

Any point at the 19th sabian degree is subject to an adherence in some respect to a 'master/pupil' relationship at best or a 'master/servant' or even a 'master/slave' role at worst and such is the negativity existent in this 'civilised' modern world and media that the latter is more often heard about than the more positive bent written about by well meaning 'sabian experts'of disciples and guru's and more prosaically, teachers & lecturers.

Well the examples given below aren't inspiring although that could be due to the stressful times and dark planetary alignments. Now I think straight away we can recognise the emphasis this year - 2020 - on the Slave trade and also some have reflected on the largely ignored modern slave trade. The connection between the strange Cult VX11 and its leader with the equally odious relationship of financier Jeffrey Epstein & Ghislaine Maxwell. On a personal level the strange hereditary ritual of the 'Heir & Spare' can have its problems for the neglected heir who feels 'in the shade' and of secondary value. It's quite obvious that not only Prince Harry but also cousin Pr.Andrew have suffered somewhat from this ruling. On a world level there has been the constant instructions to obey the rules, wear masks, take vaccines and even just 'stay put' and don't move - with the inevitable rebellion of the freedom loving, mischeivious pupils who ignore their Master by taking delight in flouting the rules. And again this rebellion against authority establishment seen equally whether on the small scale of Harry or on the larger scale of the HK student demonstrations against China.

What should you pay attention to in a progressed chart?
The first thing you'll want to pay attention to with the progressed chart is any planets or houses moving into new signs. This signifies a shift in whatever that planet or house rules, and there can be a shift in your life as a result.

Next, you'll want to assess any progressed planet or house cusps that are anaretic, which is 29 degrees of any sign. This means they're gearing up to move into new signs, and 29 degrees in the progressed chart is potent energy that drives you to take action before the point moves into a new sign.

You'll also want to focus on any planets turning retrograde or direct. This can signal an important period in your life where major developments will occur, and you can experience many changes in your life or as a person.

And then you'll want to also see when progressed planets move into new natal or progressed houses, natal planets move into new progressed houses, or any parts of your progressed chart aspects your natal chart.
Which positions are important in a progressed chart?
In general, your progressed Sun, Moon, and Rising are important, just like in your natal chart, and your progressed Sun can reflect who you're growing into overall, your progressed Moon can show your emotional maturation and focus, and your progressed Rising can show how your outer self evolves.

When the Sun and Rising change signs or are anaretic, this can be significant in terms of impacting your personality. The progressed Moon moves quickly (spending about 2 1/2 years in one sign), so the changing signs of the progressed Moon can reflect your emotional focus during this period.

The progressed personal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) can show how you shift in personal ways. When they're anaretic or in new signs, this can be felt deeply and personally.

If Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto are anaretic or change signs in the progressed chart, this can be quite significant, and show a period where there is major change, upheaval, developments, growth. They move much slower than the personal planets, so most people don't experience them anaretic or moving into new signs, which makes it significant when they do.

The progressed angles (Ascendant, Imum Coeli, Descendant, Midheaven) can show how the pillars of your life shift over time, with the progressed Ascendant-Descendant reflecting how you connect evolving, and the progressed Imum Coeli-Midheaven reflecting how the foundation of your life evolves.

Moon, the same astrological territory is traversed but it is no longer virgin territory. The
progressed Moon now acts as a loosening agent, freeing buried complexes, taboo feelings
and repressed memories to be re-felt and find some acknowledgment and acceptance.
The third circuit of the progressed Moon (from 54.6 - 82 years old) initiates us into the
elder phase of life symbolised by the wise woman, grandmother, tribal elder and crone.
Emotional experiences are more anchored and directed, less reactive and instinctive. Our
emotional attitudes can become integrated and understood enhancing our community.
When the progressed Moon enters a new house it evokes the complexes and issues within
that sphere, generally symbolised by the planets in that house. In a previous article on the
progressed Moon, I cited the example of John, a client who expressed that he was feeling
extremely anxious, but was not aware of any cause for this. He was 32 at the time. (6) The
progressed Moon had just crossed the IC, a tap root to the underlying issues of security
and safety. Natally, Pluto and Uranus were in the 4th house opposing Saturn and Chiron
in the 10th. During the consultation I asked what happened when he was 5, a lunar cycle
ago when the progressed Moon would have first progressed across the IC. His face
whitened. He said, ‘My mother died’. While a significant event was linked to this
progression, it was the underlying grief and unexpressed feelings that the lunar
progression remembered, allowing what was unmourned to be felt and acknowledged.
The house that the Moon is progressing through is a personal indicator of the emotional

Progressed Moon opposition the Libra Ascendant can have significant implications in an individual's life. Here are some key points to consider about this astrological aspect:

Emotional Awareness: The progressed Moon represents evolving emotional needs and inner experiences. When opposing the Libra Ascendant, which governs how one presents themselves to the world, there may be heightened awareness of emotional dynamics in relationships and partnerships.

Relationship Focus: This aspect can bring attention to the individual's close connections and partnerships. There may be a stronger emphasis on balancing personal needs with the needs of others, as Libra is associated with harmony and relationships.

Inner Conflict: The opposition aspect can create internal tension between personal desires and external obligations. Individuals may feel torn between their evolving emotional landscape and the expectations of their relationships and social interactions.

Self-Reflection: Progressed Moon opposition the Libra Ascendant may prompt a period of self-reflection and assessment of one's emotional responses within the context of their interactions with others. This can lead to a deeper understanding of personal needs and relationship dynamics.

Balancing Act: Individuals with this aspect may find themselves navigating the delicate balance between autonomy and partnership, as the Moon's opposition to the Ascendant highlights the need to integrate emotional well-being with external interactions.

Timing: The specific timing and duration of this aspect's influence can vary based on an individual's progression, so it's important to consider the broader context of the individual's life and the other astrological factors at play.
