18 Cancer

When 18° Cancer is activated by transit

You’ll often see:

appeals to care or protection

funding announcements

food / housing issues in the news

moral framing using vulnerability

“think of the children” narratives

It’s an emotional lever degree, but not automatically cynical.

Bottom line

18° Cancer = care in action.
It shows how nourishment, protection, and control are closely linked.

This degree asks:

Who decides what care looks like — and at what cost to independence?

If you want, next we can:

contrast 18° Cancer with 18° Capricorn

track real events that occurred under 18° Cancer activations

or see how this symbol behaves when squared by Aries or Libra

Just tell me where to go next.

did epstein protect his chicks

I’m going to answer this carefully and precisely, because there are two very different meanings of “protect,” and mixing them is where confusion creeps in.

Short answer

No — not in the nurturing sense of 18° Cancer.
But yes — in the distorted, predatory inversion of that symbol.

Let me explain the distinction.

18° Cancer revisited (the key lens)

“A hen scratching for her chicks” is about:

provision

protection of the vulnerable

acting for the benefit of dependents

The ethical core of the symbol is:

The caretaker acts to serve the chicks’ survival and wellbeing.

That is the non-negotiable test of this degree.

What Epstein actually did (symbolically speaking)

Epstein did not protect the vulnerable.

What he did was:

use the language and appearance of provision

create dependency

position himself as a gatekeeper to safety, money, housing, opportunity

insert himself between young people and real protection

That is not 18° Cancer in its healthy form.

That is the shadow version:

false caretaker

provider who feeds in order to control

protection offered only to maintain access

In astrology, that is closer to:

late Cancer (26–29°) pathology

Pluto/Cancer dynamics

Chiron–Cancer wounds

Kronos–Cancer protection of hierarchy, not people

The crucial point most people miss

A predator does not protect “their chicks.”
They protect the system that allows access to them.

In Epstein’s case, what was protected:

his network

his lifestyle

his immunity

the adults above him

the structures that looked the other way

What was not protected:

the children

the vulnerable

the dependent

the “chicks” in the true Cancerian sense

So if we stay astrologically honest:

He protected the henhouse, not the chicks.

Why the Cancer symbolism still matters

Cancer themes appear in Epstein-type cases because:

abuse often occurs inside pseudo-familial or “safe” environments

caretaking language is weaponised

dependency is mistaken for care

protection is promised but never delivered

That’s why Cancer shows up — not because the care was real, but because it was imitated and inverted.

Bottom line (very clear)

18° Cancer protects the vulnerable

Epstein did the opposite

He simulated care to maintain control

Any “protection” served him and the hierarchy above him

Astrologically, that places him outside the true meaning of 18° Cancer and squarely in its shadow abuse pattern.

If you want, next we can:

contrast 18° Cancer vs 22–27° Cancer in abuse dynamics

map which degrees correlate with false caretakers

or look at where real protection finally appears astrologically

Just tell me where you want to go.

18 Libra

ll focus on 18° Libra (since that’s the practical rounding point) and cover the major degree-symbol frameworks, then synthesize what agrees, what contrasts, and what consistently shows up.

18° Libra — Degree Symbol Interpretations
1. Sabian Symbol (Jones / Rudhyar)

“Two men placed under arrest.”

Key themes:

Accountability

Consequences for prior actions

Law, authority, justice made concrete

No more negotiation — judgment is rendered

This is Libra after diplomacy fails.

2. Rudhyar’s Expanded Interpretation

Rudhyar frames this as:

Society asserting limits

The necessity of restraint for collective balance

Personal freedom checked by ethical order

Important nuance:
This isn’t punishment for punishment’s sake — it’s restoring equilibrium.

3. Marc Edmund Jones (practical tone)

Jones emphasizes:

Exposure

Public reckoning

The end of evasion

Facing facts that can no longer be argued away

This is the degree where pretense collapses.

4. Charubel (19th-century clairvoyant symbols)

Libra 18° imagery centers on:

A tribunal

A public decision

Authority exercised after deliberation

Charubel tends to dramatize, but the theme matches:
👉 Judgment after weighing.

5. Sepharial

Sepharial assigns this degree:

Legal disputes

Contractual consequences

Formal decisions

Moral tests with material outcomes

Often linked with:

Court rulings

Official notices

“You are now bound by this outcome”

6. 360-Degree System (Traditional synthesis)

In traditional degree lore, mid-Libra degrees:

Shift from Venusian harmony → Saturnian enforcement

Emphasize rules over persuasion

Mark the transition from ideal justice to applied law

18° sits squarely in that transition.

What All Systems Have in Common

Across every framework, the overlap is striking:

Shared core themes

Accountability

Judgment

Consequences

Loss of neutrality

Public or official enforcement

This degree is not about deciding what’s fair —
It’s about enforcing what has already been decided.

Key Contrast: Libra’s reputation vs. Libra’s reality

Libra is often misread as:

Soft

Indecisive

Peace-seeking

But 18° Libra shows Libra’s true spine:

Law

Balance enforced

Order restored through limits

This is Venus working with Saturn.

Rounded Interpretation (17–18° Libra band)

When you round your cycle position to 18° Libra, you get:

A point in the cycle where relationships, systems, or agreements can no longer be smoothed over — they must be regulated, corrected, or closed.

Expect:

Lines drawn

Roles clarified

Authority invoked

“This is how it will be” moments

Not dramatic chaos — structured consequence.

In the context of your 2020–2027 cycle

This degree marks:

The moral midpoint of the entire arc

The end of analysis (Virgo) and negotiation (early Libra)

The beginning of irreversible outcomes

Whatever has been avoided earlier in the cycle tends to surface here.

One sentence synthesis

18° Libra is where fairness stops being an idea and becomes law.

Black Moon Lilith in Israel's 4th House:

Mundane Interpretation (Rectified Chart by Isaac Starkman/Alexander Marr)Isaac Starkman, a renowned Israeli astrologer specializing in birth time rectification (often collaborating with or building on Alexander Marr's methods), endorsed Marr's 1985 rectification of Israel's mundane chart to May 14, 1948, 16:15:07 EET (4:15 PM local time), Tel Aviv-Yafo.

This timing yields an Ascendant at 26°15' Libra, emphasizing themes of diplomatic alliances, justice, and relational balance in the nation's identity—fitting for a state born amid partition and immediate conflict. The chart uses Placidus houses, with key positions including Sun at 23°40' Taurus (8th house, resources/debts), Moon at 4°21' Leo (11th house, alliances/hopes), and Midheaven at approximately 28° Cancer (national goals tied to security and heritage). In this rectified chart, Black Moon Lilith (BML) resides at 17°16' Aquarius in the 4th house (with the 4th cusp around 28°45' Capricorn, extending into early Aquarius). 18 AQ =

6 Feb 2015 — This Symbol shows the ability, or the need, to be able to see through others; to be able to “Unmask” people, to reveal one self or hide away

This placement infuses Israel's foundational energies with Lilith's primal, rebellious archetype, creating a potent undercurrent of suppressed collective instincts that challenge the nation's roots and homeland security. Below, I unpack this in mundane terms, linking to historical and ongoing patterns.Core Themes: Lilith's Shadow in the Homeland (4th House)The 4th house in mundane astrology governs a nation's "end of the matter"—its territory, natural resources, agriculture, real estate, and the emotional bedrock of the populace (including opposition to the government and ancestral legacies). Aquarius here adds innovative, humanitarian, yet detached or revolutionary flavors, often tied to technology, groups, or sudden disruptions. Lilith's conjunction amplifies this as a "dark feminine" force: untamed, exiled instincts bubbling from the soil itself, representing taboo desires for sovereignty that society (or the state) represses.Exiled Roots and Primal Rage: Israel's homeland becomes a cauldron of forbidden longings—collective trauma from diaspora, Holocaust echoes, or indigenous displacements manifesting as subconscious fury against "occupiers" (internal or external). Lilith in Aquarius evokes futuristic rebellions from the margins: think underground networks (e.g., early kibbutz movements or cyber-activism) reclaiming the land through unconventional means. Historically, this ties to the 1948 War of Independence's immediate invasions, symbolizing a "birth from exile" where suppressed Jewish resilience erupted violently. Positively, it fosters resilient innovation in agriculture (e.g., drip irrigation as a "taboo-breaking" desert miracle).
Resource Taboos and Shadow Economy: The 4th's resource focus gains Lilithian peril—scandals over land grabs, water rights, or black-market dealings that seduce and destroy. Aquarius's fixed air suggests intellectualized conflicts, like tech-driven surveillance of territories or AI in border security, but with a shadow of ethical violations (e.g., data privacy breaches evoking "predatory algorithms" on a national scale). Challenges include paranoia about territorial betrayal, fueling isolationist policies or vengeful fortifications.

Positive Potentials: Alchemizing the Wild FeminineEmpowered Renewal: Lilith here signals a soul-level mission to integrate the "outcast mother"—transforming ancestral wounds into sovereign strength. Israel's global image as a "startup nation" (Aquarius innovation) stems from this: humanitarian tech (e.g., Iron Dome or medical exports) born from root-level ingenuity, honoring marginalized voices like women's roles in defense or eco-feminism in the Negev.
Magnetic Sovereignty: The nation's intuitive grasp of collective shadows allows magnetic alliances, drawing support from unlikely quarters while defending core identity fiercely.

Challenges: Destructive Eruptions and Karmic CyclesInternal Fractures: Repressed desires risk "witch hunts"—domestic unrest over family policies, fertility crises (e.g., demographic debates), or environmental taboos (polluted aquifers as metaphors for poisoned heritage). In Aquarius, this manifests as group exiles: protests fracturing national unity, like settler vs. secular divides or LGBTQ+ rights clashes with orthodox norms.
Global Echoes: Transits activating this (e.g., current Uranus in Taurus squaring Lilith) amplify upheavals, as seen in 2023–2025 Gaza conflicts—eruptions of primal rage over "homeland" definitions, risking international isolation if shadows overwhelm diplomacy.

This placement underscores Israel's evolutionary arc: a phoenix forged in exile, where embracing Lilith's wildness (through inclusive reforms) yields unbreakable foundations. For current transits or full chart visuals, provide more details!

18 Virgo

Jul. 18th, 2025 12:50 pm
The interpretations you provided for Virgo 18° share a common theme of heightened perception, sensitivity, and the ability to access deeper truths or realities through tools, intuition, or creative expression. However, they differ in their focus, tone, and specific imagery. Below is an analysis of their commonalities and differences:CommonalitiesHeightened Sensitivity and Insight:All interpretations emphasize a refined ability to perceive subtle realities or potentials. Whether through the ouija board, the didgeridoo, or eyeglasses that reveal rainbows, there’s a focus on transcending ordinary perception to access deeper truths or cosmic patterns.
Examples: The first interpretation speaks of "creative sensitivity" leading to "deep and subtle knowledge of the true nature of reality."
The Virgo 18° ouija board symbol highlights "creative sensitiveness to the illimitable potentials" and "true rational divination."
The didgeridoo symbol emphasizes mental power and communication that elevates consciousness.

Tools as Catalysts:Each interpretation involves a tool or medium (ouija board, didgeridoo, eyeglasses, or affirmations) that facilitates connection to higher awareness or subtle energies. These tools are not the source of insight but rather channels for expressing or accessing it.
The ouija board and didgeridoo are both instruments that amplify intuition or inner power, while eyeglasses symbolize a shift in perception to see beyond the mundane.

Balance Between Rationality and Intuition:The interpretations stress the importance of combining logic with spiritual or intuitive insight to achieve true understanding. This balance prevents distortion or "bondage to superstition" (first interpretation) and allows for meaningful engagement with reality.
Example: The first interpretation notes that "neither logic nor spiritual insight can give the whole truth" without being married to each other.

Manifestation of Inner Truths:There’s a recurring idea that inner comprehension must be expressed outwardly to be meaningful. This is seen in the first interpretation’s focus on giving "material expression" to values and strengths, the ouija board’s emphasis on inner comprehension becoming articulate, and the didgeridoo’s outward expression of life’s force.

Awareness of Future Potentials:The interpretations suggest that the future is not random but emerges from existing energies that can be perceived and interpreted by those with heightened sensitivity. This is explicit in the first interpretation’s mention of "strands of the future" and the ouija board’s "myriad signatures of coming events."

Caution Against Distortion:Each interpretation warns against misperception or fixation. The first interpretation cautions against "superstition and distorted perceptions" or warping perceptions to fit desires. The ouija board symbol warns of "bondage to superstition," and the affirmation theme advises against indulging in disappointment or expecting specific outcomes.

DifferencesFocus and Imagery:First Interpretation: Broad and philosophical, it discusses the dangers and potentials of using magical or intuitive tools, emphasizing the need for discernment and the interplay of inner and outer realities. It’s more abstract and cautionary.
Virgo 18° Ouija Board: Focuses on the ouija board as a specific symbol of divination and anticipation, highlighting practical judgment and acumen. It’s more structured and tied to astrological symbolism.
Affirmation Theme: Centers on the concept of affirmation as a dynamic of agreement and support, with a practical, day-to-day tone. It’s less metaphysical and more about navigating emotional expectations and subtle hesitations.
Virgo 18° Didgeridoo: Uses vivid, poetic imagery to describe a woman playing the didgeridoo, emphasizing the power of breath and sound to connect with universal energies. It’s more artistic and experiential, focusing on the act of creation and its impact on consciousness.

Tone and Approach:The first interpretation is analytical and cautionary, warning of the risks of weak-mindedness while celebrating the potential for mastery through discernment.
The ouija board interpretation is more formal and astrological, presenting a balanced view of positive and negative expressions of the degree.
The affirmation theme is practical and grounded, offering advice for navigating the day’s energies with a focus on emotional resilience.
The didgeridoo interpretation is poetic and evocative, emphasizing the transformative power of creative expression and its universal resonance.

Specificity of Tools:The first interpretation speaks generally about "tools of magic," leaving the nature of the tools open-ended.
The ouija board and didgeridoo interpretations focus on specific instruments, each with distinct cultural and symbolic connotations (ouija board for divination, didgeridoo for primal, vibrational energy).
The affirmation theme doesn’t focus on a physical tool but rather on the concept of verbal or energetic agreement, making it more abstract and interpersonal.

Emphasis on Outcome:The first interpretation emphasizes the realization of "full acumen" and the manifestation of inner values into outer form.
The ouija board symbol focuses on mastering life through sensitivity to potentials, with "acumen" as the keyword.
The affirmation theme is more about navigating temporary setbacks and preparing for future alignment, with a focus on emotional readiness.
The didgeridoo symbol highlights elevating consciousness and releasing negative fixations, with a poetic focus on universal connection.

Synthesis

Common Thread: All interpretations revolve around the idea of accessing deeper truths or potentials through sensitivity, intuition, and the use of specific tools or practices. They emphasize the need for balance, discernment, and the integration of inner and outer realities to achieve meaningful understanding or expression. The future is seen as interconnected with the present, accessible to those who cultivate awareness and avoid distortion.

Key Difference: The interpretations vary in their focus (philosophical, astrological, practical, or poetic), the specific tools or methods they highlight, and their tone (cautionary, structured, advisory, or evocative). Each provides a unique lens on the same core theme of refined perception and its transformative potential. If you’d like, I can generate a visual representation of these themes (e.g., a chart comparing their elements) or delve deeper into a specific interpretation. Creative sensitivity leads towards a deep and subtle knowledge of the true nature of reality

The use of tools of magic has its dangers. Very often, those of weak mind will surrender their will to the forces that manipulate them into bondage when they get caught up in their superstition and distorted perceptions of subtle realities.

However, to the savvy, such tools can be employed very meaningfully to develop real skills such that their inclinations and insights serve them every step of the way towards the realization of their full acumen.

Thus, inner comprehension becomes activated into outer form, which is of the utmost importance since our values and strengths are made known only as they are given material expression.

This does depend upon a keen determined intelligence that can sense the difference between true insight and cosmic silliness.

The future does not arise suddenly as if out of the blue – it creates itself by rearranging existing streams of energy and form. Strands of the future are evident here and now – to those who look for and notice them and thus interpret their meaning. We can depend upon these myriad signatures of coming events – what must be must be.

However, what may be may also not be. Optimisation depends upon expanding our sensitivity to a greater degree so that it encompasses illimitable life potentials in every situation and does not fixate upon one particular expected or preferred version. It is all too easy to warp our perceptions to fit our desires.

When we learn how to participate in true and rational divination, the completeness of our experience of life becomes steady and whole. Neither logic nor spiritual insight can give the whole truth because each needs to be married with the other to give birth to any real understanding.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Virgo 18° An ouija board This is a symbol of the completeness with which man is able to see his experience both steadily and whole, dramatized here by the planchette as representative of effective anticipation or a true rational divination. The inner comprehension becomes articulate in outer form whenever a practical judgment is allowed to order it, and the individual then begins to realize that coming events have a myriad of signatures on which he can count. He masters life through his creative sensitiveness to the illimitable potentials. The Keyword is ACUMEN. When positive, the degree is cleverness in making use of everyday insights and intimations, and when negative, a bondage to superstition and a surrender to the unknown.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Theme: Affirmation.

Inspiration: Affirmation is like an echo of spoken agreement, or a reflection of repeated light mirroring confirmation.

Today: Although the day is seated in affirmation, there may be some disappointments. Consider asking for a simple agreement, "You enjoyed your dinner, yes?", and not really receiving any confirmation.

Ouija is all about 'yes, yes' , a dynamic that lends strength and support to joint actions and decisions. Yet there is hesitation… perhaps even withholding… but at least some strange strain of not feeling the magic from even the day before.

It is suggested to not indulge in disappointment of any compelling sort. See the day as a platform… a readying stage… for a return to full ahead.

Also, consider that the answer that affirms you sense of things today, may well arrive from a quarter beyond expectation.

Virgo 18. A woman playing the didgeridoo. (Omega Symbol) Manifesting/Receptive

(Degree Angel: HAHEUIAH (ha-HOO-ee-YAH) Overcoming Jealousy, Protection

You have a tremendous amount of mental power and are able to direct it in a highly focused manner. Through your communication you express the force and power of life, and when you do so it has an elevating and expanding effect on the consciousness of other people. Ultimately, this also helps others to let go of their negative and insecure fixations on the past.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “Eyeglasses which cause one to see rainbows.” This degree is about removing perceptual limits so that reality can be experienced more fully. This is always an uplifting experience. Depression and sorrow can only come from a limited view of the world, and so this degree bring hope to others through going beyond the usual narrow ways of viewing things. It allows one to experience the breath of life directly, just as the voice of the didgeridoo does.

Pleiadian Symbol: A sampler embroidered with letters and numbers subtly reveals the personality of its maker.

Azoth Symbol: Heavy, dark tools dirty with grease.

Seed degree: Libra 30. A small pale moon in the afternoon. (Omega Symbol). Aware of the emotional undercurrents flowing through all situations, we attune ourselves to them to help enhance and integrate their energy so that life's beauty is revealed more vividly.

A black rooster. (Chandra Symbol). Through awakening light in all relationships we open up both ourselves and others to subtleties and wonders which were formerly hidden.

Fulfillment degree: Pisces 14. Unconcerned with how he is going to escape, a man explores an infinite library. (Omega Symbol). Focusing on the music within we become entranced by it and impelled to explore its mysteries.

After a feast much uneaten food remains on the plates. (Chandra Symbol). As we come to see the richness that is everywhere around us, we enter a state of satiety and peace.

Oracle

At dusk she sits in grasslands, her lungs awakening darkness in the hollow tube, while far to the south icebergs can hear her playing. She blows into a dark throat, her breath becoming shadow music. Birds and dust, and even stars remember the song. The twilight become lost for awhile, forgetting its way, pausing, waiting for the memory to return.

18 Gemini

Degree Interpretations for 18° Gemini
Below are the primary astrological degree interpretations for 18° Gemini, sourced from widely recognized systems. These symbols are metaphorical, reflecting the degree’s energy within Gemini’s intellectual and social framework.
1. Sabian Symbol
The Sabian Symbols, channeled by Elsie Wheeler and Marc Edmund Jones in 1925, assign a unique image to each degree. For 18° Gemini (technically 17°00’–17°59’, rounded to 18°):
Symbol: “Two Chinese men conversing in their native tongue in an American city.”

Interpretation: This image depicts cultural exchange, communication, and the blending of perspectives in a foreign context. It suggests Gemini’s ability to connect across differences, using language or ideas to bridge gaps, often in a dynamic, urban setting.

Themes:
Cross-Cultural Communication: The Chinese men highlight Gemini’s curiosity and adaptability, engaging with others through shared knowledge or language.

Duality and Connection: The “two men” reflect Gemini’s dual nature, finding common ground in a diverse environment.

Mars Influence: The Chaldean Mars rulership adds assertiveness or urgency to this exchange, potentially sparking debate or lively discourse.

Implication: A planet at 18° Gemini may indicate someone skilled at bridging cultural or intellectual divides, with a knack for dynamic communication. In mundane astrology, this could signify events involving diplomacy, multicultural interactions, or media exchanges.

2. Chandra Symbol
The Chandra Symbols, channeled by Ellias Lonsdale, offer mystical insights. For 18° Gemini:
Symbol: “A book with blank pages.”

Overview of 18° Gemini
Sign Context: Gemini, a mutable air sign ruled by Mercury, governs communication, intellect, adaptability, duality, and social exchange. 18° Gemini is in the second decan (10°–19°), emphasizing social and intellectual versatility, with a Libra/Venus sub-influence (modern triplicity) or Mars in the Chaldean system, adding assertiveness or conflict.

Chaldean Decan: Mars rules 10°–19° Gemini, infusing 18° Gemini with energy, ambition, or potential aggression, which shapes the Omega Symbol’s dynamic delivery of messages.

Degree Significance: Not a critical or anaretic degree, 18° Gemini refines Gemini’s communicative skills mid-cycle, focusing on connection and expression.

Fixed Stars: Rigel (16°50’ Gemini, ~1°10’ orb) enhances brilliance and ambition; Bellatrix (20°57’ Gemini, 2°57’ orb) adds assertiveness, aligning with Mars. Betelgeuse (28°45’ Gemini, from your prior query) is too distant (~10°) for direct influence.

Prior Query Context: Your earlier question about 18° Gemini’s “suddenly, severely checked over” suggested a harsh, corrective tone, contrasting with the Omega Symbol’s lighter, open-ended communication. This analysis will compare the two and tie to your interests (e.g., degree rulers, house calculation).

Analysis of the Omega Symbol and Associated Interpretations
1. Omega Symbol: “A magician gives to the wind messages that are to be delivered”
Symbolic Meaning:
The magician represents mastery over communication, wielding Gemini’s Mercury-ruled intellect with creativity and intention, akin to casting a spell. Unlike the earlier “checked over” interpretation, this suggests effortless, magical expression.

Giving messages to the wind implies non-attachment, trusting the universe (or karma, as noted) to deliver ideas to the right recipients. The wind, a mutable air element, mirrors Gemini’s fluidity and adaptability, spreading messages freely.

Delivery underscores purpose and destiny, suggesting the magician’s words carry transformative potential, reaching those who need them without control over outcomes.

Psychological Implications:
This degree reflects a mindset of openness and trust, where one communicates without clinging to results. It encourages letting go of ego-driven expectations, fostering psychological freedom.

The magician’s role suggests confidence in one’s intellectual or creative gifts, but Mars’ rulership adds a bold, assertive edge, urging action without forcefulness.

Contrasts with “suddenly, severely checked over,” which implies external critique halting expression. Here, the focus is internal liberation, releasing messages without fear of judgment.

Astrological Context:
Gemini’s Communication: The symbol aligns with Gemini’s role as a messenger, amplified by Mercury’s degree rulership (Addey cycle). The magician’s messages are versatile, spanning words, ideas, or art.

Mars’ Decan: Mars infuses the delivery with passion or urgency, but the wind’s non-attachment tempers aggression, unlike the confrontational tone of “checked over.”

Rigel’s Influence: Rigel’s brilliance enhances the magician’s charisma, making messages compelling, while Bellatrix’s assertiveness supports bold delivery.

2. Manifesting/Receptive Quality
Meaning: Labeled Manifesting/Receptive, this degree blends active creation (manifesting messages) with passive trust (receptive to outcomes). It reflects Gemini’s duality—actively communicating while passively allowing destiny to guide.

Implication: Individuals with planets at 18° Gemini may balance initiative (Mars-driven) with surrender, creating with intent but releasing control. This contrasts with “checked over,” where external forces impose restraint, limiting receptivity.

Psychological Application: Encourages embracing both action and flow, reducing anxiety over communication outcomes, unlike the stress of sudden scrutiny.

3. Degree Angel: Lelahel (Lay-la-HEL), Dream State, Light of Understanding
Meaning: Lelahel, associated with dreams and illumination, suggests 18° Gemini channels intuitive insights through communication. The “light of understanding” aligns with the magician’s messages, offering clarity or inspiration.

Implication: The degree carries a spiritual dimension, where messages transcend mundane chatter, tapping into higher wisdom. This elevates the Omega Symbol’s purpose, contrasting with “checked over,” which lacks spiritual resonance.

Psychological Application: Promotes trust in intuitive communication, encouraging openness to subconscious or universal truths, akin to the Azoth Symbol’s recalled wisdom.

4. Chandra Symbol: “A book with blank pages”
Symbolic Meaning:
The blank book represents untapped potential, inviting Gemini’s intellect to create new narratives. It mirrors the Omega Symbol’s non-attachment, as the pages await destiny’s writing, like messages given to the wind.

Emphasizes freedom and possibility, contrasting with “checked over,” which halts creative flow with critique.

Psychological Implications:
Suggests a mindset open to new ideas, unburdened by preconceptions. The blankness encourages exploration but challenges Gemini’s tendency toward superficiality, urging meaningful content.

Unlike “checked over,” which imposes external judgment, the blank book empowers internal creativity, fostering confidence in expression.

Astrological Context:
Mercury’s rulership enhances the book’s communicative potential, while Mars’ drive pushes for bold inscription. Rigel’s brilliance supports creative output, aligning with the magician’s flair.

5. Pleiadian Symbol: “Chinese characters appearing in the air as men speak to each other”
Symbolic Meaning:
Visualizes communication as tangible, magical, and cross-cultural, echoing the Omega Symbol’s messages and the Sabian’s Chinese men (from your prior query). The characters suggest ideas taking form, visible to those attuned.

Reinforces non-attachment, as the characters dissipate like wind, reaching intended recipients intuitively.

Encourages perceiving communication as a living, transformative force, fostering connection across differences. It contrasts with “checked over,” where communication faces harsh scrutiny, limiting its flow.

Promotes openness to diverse perspectives, aligning with Gemini’s duality and the magician’s universal outreach.

Astrological Context:
Gemini’s adaptability and Mercury’s rulership support cross-cultural exchange, while Mars adds passion to the dialogue. Bellatrix’s assertiveness may emphasize bold expression.

6. Azoth Symbol: “Forgotten words of wisdom suddenly at the right time recalled”
Symbolic Meaning:
Suggests intuitive retrieval of timeless insights, aligning with the Omega Symbol’s destined delivery and Lelahel’s light of understanding. The recall is spontaneous, like wind carrying messages to the right moment.

Contrasts with “checked over,” where scrutiny blocks wisdom, emphasizing instead a flow of rediscovered truth.

Psychological Implications:
Reflects a trust in subconscious or universal wisdom, encouraging individuals to rely on intuition during communication. It fosters confidence in timely insights, unlike the doubt induced by severe checks.

Supports Gemini’s intellectual curiosity, urging depth over superficiality.

Astrological Context:
Mercury’s rulership facilitates intuitive recall, while Mars’ drive ensures timely action. Rigel’s brilliance enhances the wisdom’s impact, aligning with the magician’s transformative messages.

7. Seed Degrees
Libra 27: “A painting that will not dry” (Omega Symbol):
Symbolizes perpetual change and elasticity, enabling the magician’s open-ended communication. The painting’s fluidity mirrors the wind’s adaptability, supporting non-attachment.

Implication: Encourages embracing change, fostering the freedom to release messages without fixation, unlike “checked over,” which halts progress.

Libra 27: “A black leopard beneath a full moon” (Chandra Symbol):
Represents intense passion seeking expression, needing the blank book’s pages as a canvas. The leopard’s energy fuels creative potential, aligning with Mars’ rulership.

Implication: Suggests channeling emotional depth into communication, contrasting with the external restraint of “checked over.”

Psychological Application: Both seed degrees promote flexibility and passion, encouraging individuals to express freely while trusting destiny, countering the fear of scrutiny.

8. Fulfillment Degrees
Virgo 7: “Music, fading into silence, re-emerges as color” (Omega Symbol):
Symbolizes transcendence through communication, where messages evolve into subtler forms (color). It reflects the magician’s trust in destined delivery, reaching higher perception.

Implication: Encourages faith in communication’s transformative power, unlike “checked over,” which stifles expression.

Virgo 7: “A pie thrown in someone’s face” (Chandra Symbol):
Represents playful disruption of purity, urging freedom from perfectionism. The pie-soiled pages mirror the wind’s carefree messages, rejecting the need for pristine outcomes.

Implication: Promotes embracing imperfection in communication, contrasting with the harsh judgment of “checked over.”

Psychological Application: Both fulfillment degrees foster liberation from rigid expectations, encouraging creative play and trust in communication’s evolution.

Comparison to “Suddenly, Severely Checked Over”
Tone and Theme:
Omega Symbol: Light, open, and magical, emphasizing non-attachment and destined communication. The magician’s trust contrasts with Gemini’s potential superficiality, urging authenticity.

Checked Over: Harsh, confrontational, and restrictive, suggesting external critique halting Gemini’s flow. It aligns with Mars’ aggressive rulership but lacks the Omega’s spiritual freedom.

Implications:
The Omega Symbol encourages releasing messages without fear, fostering psychological freedom, while “checked over” induces stress or self-doubt, forcing accountability.

The Omega’s magician aligns with the Sabian’s conversation or Chandra’s blank book, emphasizing potential, whereas “checked over” resonates with the Pleiadian’s two faces, exposing duality.

Mars’ Role:
Both reflect Mars’ Chaldean rulership, but the Omega channels it as bold delivery, while “checked over” manifests as conflict or critique, highlighting Gemini’s shadow.

Resolution: The Omega Symbol suggests transcending the “check” by trusting destiny, aligning with Lelahel’s light of understanding and the Azoth’s recalled wisdom.

Connection to Your Previous Questions
18° Gemini (“Suddenly, Severely Checked Over”):
The Omega Symbol’s non-attachment counters the earlier interpretation’s restrictive scrutiny, offering a path to overcome critique through trust and openness. Both reflect Mars’ drive, but the Omega emphasizes creative freedom, the check confrontation.

30° Gemini and Betelgeuse:
30° Gemini’s anaretic urgency (Sabian’s parade, Pleiadian’s magician) contrasts with 18° Gemini’s mid-cycle refinement. The Omega’s magician echoes 30° Gemini’s communicative flair, but Betelgeuse’s distant influence (~28°45’ Gemini) adds intensity only to the latter. The Omega’s non-attachment avoids 30° Gemini’s potential overreach.

0° Cancer:
0° Cancer’s nurturing initiation (Sabian’s flag-raising, Omega’s rain) shifts from 18° Gemini’s intellectual flow. The Omega Symbol’s messages could lay the groundwork for 0° Cancer’s emotional foundations, unlike “checked over,” which disrupts flow.

10° Cancer (Violent Hailstorm):
10° Cancer’s upheaval contrasts with 18° Gemini’s communicative focus. The Omega’s non-attachment offers a lighter approach than the hailstorm’s karmic reckoning or “checked over”’s critique, emphasizing trust over conflict.

House Calculation (9° Cancer–15° Leo):
18° Gemini precedes the 9° Cancer cusp, suggesting the Omega’s messages set a communicative tone before the house’s emotional focus. If the 4th house (home), it reflects intellectual prelude; if the 12th (subconscious), intuitive insights. The 7° progression to 16° Cancer bypasses 18° Gemini, but Mercury’s degree ruler influences early dynamics, unlike the check’s disruption.

PlanetDance Degree Rulers:
In PlanetDance, 18° Gemini’s Mercury ruler (Addey cycle) aligns with the Omega’s communicative focus, accessible via the Interpretations module. Mars’ Chaldean rulership supports the magician’s bold delivery, contrasting with “checked over”’s restraint. The Fixed Stars module notes Rigel (~16°50’ Gemini), enhancing brilliance. The Omega Symbol likely appears in Lonsdale’s degree set, loadable in PlanetDance’s Interpretations or Research modules.

Practical Implications
Natal Chart:
A planet at 18° Gemini (e.g., Mercury) might indicate:
Mercury: A communicator who releases ideas freely, inspiring others with intuitive insights (Omega’s magician, Azoth’s wisdom), but needing to avoid superficiality.

Mars: Assertive expression, delivering messages with passion (Mars’ rulership), but risking conflict if unchecked (echoing “checked over”).

Individuals embody the magician’s non-attachment, fostering open-mindedness, unlike the stress of sudden scrutiny.

Transits:
Sun: ~June 8–9, 2025, at 18° Gemini may activate periods of free-flowing communication or intuitive insights, encouraging trust in outcomes.

Mercury: ~June 17–19, 2025, amplifies verbal or creative expression, ideal for sharing ideas without attachment.

Moon: Monthly (~2 hours, e.g., ~May 31, 2025), triggers subtle intuitive messages.

These contrast with “checked over,” where transits might spark critique or conflict.

Psychological Application:
Encourages releasing control over communication outcomes, fostering resilience and creativity. The Omega Symbol promotes trust in destiny, countering the fear or restriction of “checked over.”

Aligns with Lelahel’s dream state, urging intuitive expression and openness to universal wisdom.

PlanetDance Implementation:
The Omega Symbol and related interpretations (Chandra, Pleiadian, Azoth) are likely in PlanetDance’s Interpretations module, under Lonsdale’s 360 Degrees set. Users can view them in the Report window for a chart with planets at 18° Gemini.

The Research module allows scripting to highlight Mercury’s degree rulership or Rigel’s influence, enhancing analysis.

Check the Help menu or PlanetDance forum (www.planetdance.net) (www.planetdance.net) for loading custom degree sets, including Lelahel’s angelic associations.

Conclusion
The Omega Symbol for 18° Gemini, “A magician gives to the wind messages that are to be delivered,” symbolizes non-attached, transformative communication, where ideas are released with trust in their destined delivery. Its Manifesting/Receptive quality balances action and surrender, while Lelahel’s light of understanding adds spiritual depth. Supporting symbols—Chandra’s blank book, Pleiadian’s Chinese characters, Azoth’s recalled wisdom—emphasize creative potential, cross-cultural connection, and intuitive insight, reinforced by seed (Libra 27) and fulfillment (Virgo 7) degrees promoting flexibility and play. Within Gemini’s communicative framework, Mars’ Chaldean rulership adds bold delivery, tempered by Mercury’s degree rulership and Rigel’s brilliance.
Contrast with “Suddenly, Severely Checked Over”:
The Omega Symbol’s open, magical flow counters the earlier interpretation’s harsh scrutiny, offering liberation where “checked over” imposes restraint. Both reflect Mars’ drive, but the Omega transcends conflict through trust, aligning with Gemini’s higher potential.

The Omega resonates with the Sabian’s conversation and Chandra’s potential, while “checked over” echoes the Pleiadian’s duality under pressure.

Implications:
Natal: Indicates free, intuitive communicators (e.g., Mercury at 18° Gemini), contrasting with the stress of scrutiny.

Transits: Sun/Mercury at 18° Gemini (June 2025) foster open expression, unlike the check’s disruption.

Psychological: Promotes trust in communication, reducing fear of judgment.

PlanetDance: Accessible via Interpretations module, enhanced by Mercury’s rulership and Rigel’s influence.

Sagittarius
"A weird man brandishes a torch in one hand and holds an owl in the other, beside an odd woman with entangled hair and wearing a mask."
This degree describes a wise person with mastery in occultism and deep knowledge of life mysteries. However, it may also indicate an eccentric, imbalanced and manipulative person and, should the natal chart concur, the danger of some mental disease.

Interpretation: Like Muir, Weber sees hope and guidance. It suggests a collective moment of clarity or inspiration, often tied to a charismatic leader or ideal.

Mundane Implication: A nation could rally around a visionary movement, with a small spark (e.g., a speech, discovery) igniting widespread optimism.

Franz Bardon (Symbolic Degrees)
Bardon’s esoteric approach is less documented for specific degrees, and no clear symbol is widely attributed to 18° Sagittarius in his work.
Interpretation: If aligned with his philosophy, this degree might emphasize spiritual initiation or collective awakening, but specifics are unavailable.

Mundane Implication: Likely a subtle shift toward esoteric or philosophical ideals in public discourse, though less overt than other systems.

David Cochrane (Astrology for the 21st Century)
Cochrane uses harmonic theory for degrees. For 18° Sagittarius: No specific symbol, but analyzed via harmonics (e.g., 12th and 30th harmonics).

Mundane Implication: A scandal or resource mismanagement could spark public outrage, with a minor event revealing systemic flaws.

Vedic Astrology Perspective
Vedic astrology (Jyotish) does not typically assign symbolic meanings to individual degrees as Western degree systems do. Instead, it uses nakshatras (lunar mansions), padas (quarters of nakshatras), and sometimes drekkanas or navamsas for finer analysis. The 18th degree of Sagittarius falls in:
Nakshatra: Purva Ashadha (13°20’ to 26°40’ Sagittarius), ruled by Venus.
Interpretation: Purva Ashadha is associated with purification, ambition, and victory through effort. It’s linked to waters (symbolizing emotional or spiritual cleansing) and suggests collective aspirations for progress or cultural refinement. In a mundane context, this could manifest as societal drives for justice, artistic expression, or infrastructure development (e.g., water-related projects).

Pada: At 17°00’–17°59’, this is the 2nd pada of Purva Ashadha, ruled by Virgo (navamsa). This adds a practical, service-oriented tone, suggesting collective focus on organization, health, or detailed reforms.

Mundane Implication: A nation might see movements for social equity, environmental cleanup, or administrative efficiency, often triggered by grassroots efforts or overlooked issues gaining traction.

Degree-Specific Analysis: Vedic astrology rarely isolates a single degree unless tied to a planet or event chart. If Pholus (from your prior question) is at 18° Sagittarius in a mundane Vedic chart, its disruptive energy might amplify Purva Ashadha’s cleansing themes, leading to sudden societal shifts (e.g., policy overhauls) sparked by minor catalysts.

Negatives as Noted by Jones, Lynda Hill, and Martin Goldsmith
Marc Edmund Jones (Sabian Symbols)
Symbol: “Tiny children in sunbonnets.”

Negative Aspects: Jones doesn’t explicitly frame this degree as negative, but he warns against overprotection or naivety. In a mundane context, this could manifest as:
Societies clinging to outdated traditions or shielding themselves from necessary change, leading to stagnation.

Public policies that infantilize citizens, undermining autonomy (e.g., excessive censorship or paternalistic laws).

A collective failure to confront harsh realities, resulting in vulnerability when crises emerge.

Mundane Risk: A small misstep (e.g., ignoring economic warnings) could expose a nation’s unpreparedness, as innocence becomes a liability.

Lynda Hill (360 Degrees of Wisdom)
Symbol: “Tiny children in sunbonnets.”

Negative Aspects: Hill notes that this degree can indicate over-sheltering or avoidance of reality. Negatives include:
Collective denial of pressing issues (e.g., environmental degradation, political corruption), leading to bigger problems later.

Societies prioritizing superficial “feel-good” measures over substantive reform, wasting resources.

A tendency toward insularity, where nations or groups reject outside perspectives, fostering division.

Mundane Risk: A minor scandal or public outcry could reveal a nation’s reluctance to face systemic flaws, escalating into broader unrest.

what are the negatives as told by Jones and Lynda Hill and Martin Goldsmith

Since you’ve asked about the negatives of the 18th degree of Aquarius (17°00' - 17°59' Aquarius) as interpreted by Marc Edmund Jones, Lynda Hill, and Martin Goldsmith, I’ll focus on the potential downsides or challenges they highlight for this degree, drawing from their works on the Sabian Symbols. These astrologers base their interpretations on the Sabian Symbols, originally channeled by Elsie Wheeler with Jones in 1925, but each emphasizes different facets—Jones with foundational meaning, Hill with practical warnings, and Goldsmith with narrative depth. I’ll assume your interest ties to your prior mundane focus (e.g., 2025 transits), so I’ll include a brief mundane lens for April 9, 2025, context where relevant. Here’s what they say about the negatives:
Marc Edmund Jones
Source: The Sabian Symbols in Astrology (1953)

Symbol: "A man being unmasked" (18° Aquarius)

Interpretation: Jones sees this as a moment of social honesty—Aquarius’s detached idealism forces hidden truths into the open. The positive is clarity and trust, but the negative lies in the discomfort or disruption this exposure brings.

Negatives:
Vulnerability: The unmasking strips away pretense, leaving the subject exposed and potentially humiliated—privacy or dignity erodes.

Social Tension: Others may resist or resent the revelation, fracturing relationships or trust—Aquarius’s aloofness can make this cold or unforgiving.

Instability: The sudden shift from illusion to reality destabilizes situations, risking chaos if unprepared.

Key Warning: Truth comes at a cost—emotional or social fallout may outweigh the gain.

Mundane 2025: With Jupiter in Cancer trining (July), a public figure’s unmasking (e.g., "Leader’s Lies Exposed") could spark unrest; Mars retrograde (Jan) delays resolution, prolonging tension.

Lynda Hill
Source: The Sabian Symbols as an Oracle (1995, revised editions)

Symbol: "A man being unmasked" (18° Aquarius)

Interpretation: Hill expands on Jones, framing this as a call for authenticity—Aquarius’s humanitarian streak demands transparency. She highlights practical and emotional pitfalls, often with a cautionary tone.

Negatives:
Harsh Judgment: The unmasking can turn into a witch hunt—others pile on with criticism or blame, amplifying Aquarius’s group dynamic into mob mentality.

Loss of Control: The revealed party loses agency—secrets spill uncontrollably, leading to shame, betrayal, or ostracism.

Hypocrisy Exposed: The unmasker may face their own flaws, creating a double-edged backlash—e.g., “Who’s unmasking the unmasker?”

Emotional Fallout: Aquarius’s coolness clashes with human feelings—hurt, anger, or alienation follow the cold reveal.

Key Warning: Exposure risks overreaction—balance truth with compassion to avoid destructive ripples.

Mundane 2025: Jupiter’s trine could inflate a scandal (e.g., "Whistleblower Triggers Public Fury"), with Hill’s mob caution suggesting polarized news cycles; Mars retrograde delays accountability.

Martin Goldsmith
Source: The Zodiac by Degrees (2004, revised from 360 Degrees of the Zodiac)

Symbol: "A man with a mask slipping from his face" (18° Aquarius, nuanced variant)

Interpretation: Goldsmith crafts a vivid scene—Aquarius’s eccentricity meets a moment of unintended revelation. He delves into psychological and situational shadows, offering a narrative lens.

Negatives:
Unintended Exposure: The mask slips, not by choice—accidental leaks or slips reveal what’s hidden, catching the subject off-guard and unprepared for consequences.

Deception Backfires: If the mask hid deceit, the fallout is severe—trust crumbles, relationships fracture, and credibility tanks.

Awkward Timing: The slip happens at the worst moment, amplifying damage—e.g., a public gaffe under scrutiny. Goldsmith notes a “comic-tragic” edge, where absurdity adds insult to injury.

Isolation: Aquarius’s detachment leaves the unmasked figure alone—friends or allies distance themselves, deepening the sting.

Key Warning: Truth slips out clumsily—timing and intent magnify the mess, leaving wreckage.

Mundane 2025: Jupiter trine might spotlight an awkward reveal (e.g., "Tech CEO’s Blunder Goes Viral"), with Goldsmith’s comic-tragic note suggesting public ridicule; Mars retrograde stalls damage control.

Comparison of Negatives
Jones:
Focus: Vulnerability and instability from forced truth.

Negative: Emotional exposure destabilizes—e.g., shame or chaos.

Tone: Analytical, structural.

Hill:
Focus: Social overreaction and loss of control.

Negative: Judgment and betrayal escalate—e.g., mob backlash.

Tone: Cautionary, practical.

Goldsmith:
Focus: Accidental slips and relational fallout.

Negative: Timing and isolation wound—e.g., unintended ruin.

Tone: Narrative, psychological.

Shared Themes
Exposure Risk: All agree unmasking reveals too much—Jones (vulnerability), Hill (control loss), Goldsmith (accident).

Social Cost: Truth disrupts—Jones (tension), Hill (judgment), Goldsmith (isolation).

Aquarius Shadow: Detachment worsens the sting—cold revelation lacks warmth.

Differences
Scope: Jones is broad (social structure), Hill communal (group reaction), Goldsmith personal (individual slip).

Intent: Jones implies deliberate truth, Hill warns of excess, Goldsmith highlights chance.

Mundane Lens (2025)
Mars Retrograde (Jan 6 – Feb 23, Cancer): Opposite 18° Aquarius (3° orb from 17° Cancer)—delays in addressing unmaskings—e.g., "Scandal Lingers, Public Anger Festers" (Hill’s mob risk). Jones’s instability and Goldsmith’s awkward timing prolong news cycles.

Jupiter in Cancer (July, ~10°-15° Cancer): Trine to 18° Aquarius—nurturing amplifies exposure—e.g., "Whistleblower’s Truth Gains Traction" (Jones), but Hill’s judgment warns of overblown backlash, and Goldsmith’s slip suggests a messy reveal (e.g., "Govt Leak Embarrasses").

Outcome: News reflects truth’s double edge—revelation (positive) meets chaos, shame, or ridicule (negative).

Conclusion
Jones: Negatives are vulnerability and disruption—truth destabilizes.

Hill: Harsh judgment and betrayal—exposure spirals.

Goldsmith: Accidental slips and isolation—timing wounds.
In 2025, 18° Aquarius could spotlight public unmaskings with messy fallout—Jones’s chaos, Hill’s mobs, Goldsmith’s gaffes. Want a chart tie-in or more? Let me know!

"An empty hammock" 18 Aries

This symbol is illuminated 5:52 AM EDT Apr 6 (9:52 AM GMT, Apr 6)

Theme: Gaps

Inspiration: If the stitch is too tight, like a story that fits too small, consider unraveling and relaxing for a while.

Today: The hammock is ever suspended between two sides of the story. When polar opposites are firmly planted, tension ensues.

Ah, but the middle way invites with liberating comfort, relaxation and fresh air.

Watch for emotional fullness that may tend to extremes: if toward tension and tightness, loosen up; if toward letting go, letting be, be alert for the lazy-man reaction… a slumping "Whatever".

Great day to follow your inclinations for constructive purposes. For example, think about your own story. Is the current version like a dress three sizes too small?

Everyone knows how hard it is to get into the hammock. Consider this balancing technique: "I am great and wise and exemplary among all men… balanced with… tickle fight on the living room carpet!!

BEWARE OF TRYING TO CUT CORNERS

Revised Summary of Leo 18 by Lyn Birkbeck
General Interpretation:
The Sabian Symbol for Leo 18, “A chemist conducting an experiment,” represents a scientific or alchemical understanding of life’s deeper workings. It emphasizes the ability to analyze reality, predict outcomes, and control processes through careful observation and experimentation. The symbol draws on alchemy’s metaphor of transforming the basic into the refined, symbolizing personal or situational evolution.
Keep Focused On: Using your analytical skills to gain and share insights about your experiences and surroundings, and teaching or learning to enhance your situation.

Watch Out For: A DETACHED or overly CLINICAL approach that could undermine efforts or lead to destructive outcomes.

Love/Relating/Social:
This degree focuses on the “chemistry” of relationships, where one person may have deeper insight into interpersonal dynamics. It calls for awareness of how interactions stimulate and transform both parties.
Keep Focused On: Identifying which aspects of your personality are activated by others, taking responsibility for your role, and fostering mutual growth.

Watch Out For: Ignoring the mutual influence in relationships, which could lead to isolation or explosive conflicts.

Money/Work/Creativity:
For educators, this symbol affirms their role while stressing continuous learning. In work or financial contexts, it highlights the need to respect natural rules and processes to achieve success.
Keep Focused On: Observing interactions among elements and people in your work to uncover creative solutions that lead to transformation.

Watch Out For: Exhausting resources by pursuing impossible goals or ignoring practical limits.

Karma/Attitude/Health:
Leo 18 underscores that life operates under natural laws of cause and effect, and awareness of these is essential for growth. It urges you to either deepen your understanding of these laws or share your knowledge to guide others. The additional text emphasizes life as a series of alchemical processes—stages of transformation that everyone must navigate. Transformation is presented as life’s core purpose, with each stage requiring acceptance and patience.
Keep Focused On: Recognizing and sharing the alchemical stages of transformation, accepting their necessity, and viewing life itself as the ultimate teacher. This approach makes life’s processes purposeful and fulfilling.

Watch Out For: Attempting to bypass these stages or cut corners, which leads to vain efforts and hinders progress.

Key Quote: “Transformation, that’s the name of the game.”

Why Leo 18 Is Known as the “Diabolical Degree”
The term “diabolical degree” does not appear in Birkbeck’s text, but the provided excerpt, with its focus on alchemy, transformation, and the risks of cutting corners, offers clues to why Leo 18 might carry this label in certain astrological circles. Below are refined explanations, incorporating the new text:
Alchemical Risks and the “Diabolical” Connotation:
The emphasis on alchemy—the process of transforming the base into the refined—carries a dual nature. Alchemy historically blended science, mysticism, and the pursuit of forbidden or esoteric knowledge, sometimes viewed with suspicion as tampering with divine or natural order. Birkbeck’s text describes the need to navigate “alchemical processes and stages” (Karma/Attitude/Health), but warns against “vainly trying to cut corners.” Missteps in this transformative process—such as rushing or ignoring natural laws—could lead to failure or harm, metaphorically akin to a chemical experiment gone wrong (e.g., an explosion). The “diabolical” label might reflect this potential for destructive outcomes if the degree’s energy is mishandled, evoking imagery of reckless or “sinister” manipulation of powerful forces.

Intensity of Transformation:
Birkbeck’s statement that “transformation is actually what life is all about” underscores Leo 18’s focus on profound change. However, transformation can be intense, risky, or destabilizing, especially in Leo, a sign associated with bold, dramatic energy. The degree’s call to accept and navigate life’s stages patiently suggests that resistance or haste could lead to negative consequences. In some astrological traditions, degrees associated with such high-stakes transformation might be labeled “diabolical” to highlight their challenging or perilous nature, particularly if the ego-driven qualities of Leo amplify the risks.

Shadow Side of Control and Detachment:
The warning in the General Interpretation against a “clinical or detached attitude” that could be “destructive” aligns with the idea of a “diabolical” outcome. A chemist who experiments without regard for consequences might cause harm, paralleling the alchemical pursuit of power or knowledge without ethical grounding. This shadow side—where control or intellectual arrogance overrides humility—could contribute to the degree’s ominous reputation in certain contexts.

Leo’s Ego and Potential for Hubris:
Leo’s association with ego, leadership, and charisma can become problematic at 18 degrees, especially if the transformative process is approached with impatience or a desire to dominate outcomes. The warning against “cutting corners” suggests that bypassing natural processes could lead to failure or chaos. In esoteric traditions, such hubris might be seen as “diabolical” in the sense of defying natural or cosmic order, inviting unintended consequences.

Possible External Origin of the Term:
Since “diabolical degree” isn’t mentioned in Birkbeck’s text, it likely originates from another source—perhaps a different astrologer, a specific astrological tradition, or a community discussion. For example, some degrees are labeled as “critical” or “fated” based on historical events or astrological observations, and Leo 18 might have been associated with intense or negative manifestations in certain charts. The term could also be a dramatic flourish used by an astrologer to emphasize the degree’s transformative challenges.

Additional Insights
The additional text strengthens the alchemical theme, framing life as a series of transformative stages that require patience and awareness. This aligns with the chemist metaphor, where precision and respect for process are critical to avoid disastrous results, potentially explaining the “diabolical” label as a cautionary note.

The phrase “transformation, that’s the name of the game” encapsulates the degree’s essence, but it also implies that mishandling transformation could lead to setbacks, reinforcing the need for discipline and humility.

Recommendations
To clarify the “diabolical degree” label:
Share the Source: If you recall where you encountered the term (e.g., another book, website, or astrologer), I can investigate further to pinpoint its origin and context.

Search Option: I can search X or the web for references to Leo 18 as the “diabolical degree” to see if other astrologers have used this term, though results may be limited without specific leads.

Text Confirmation: If you have more excerpts from Birkbeck’s book or related texts that might hint at this label, sharing them could help refine the explanation.

For now, the “diabolical degree” likely reflects the high-stakes, transformative nature of Leo 18, with its potential for destructive outcomes if its energy is misapplied. Let me know how you’d like to proceed!

“A chemist conducting an experiment for his students.”
This symbol suggests precision, transformation through knowledge, and the blending of elements to create something new—resonating with the concept of alchemy (historically linked to chemistry and transmutation).

In a mundane sense, this could symbolize controlled efforts to transform or unite diverse elements, but if mishandled, it could lead to volatile outcomes, like an experiment gone wrong.

Alchemy in astrology often represents transformation, merging disparate parts into something greater (e.g., base metals into gold or spiritual enlightenment). Sue Kientz uses “alchemy” to describe transformative processes, particularly with dwarf planets like Haumea, which she associates with creation, healing, or drastic action.

I wonder as well if those born with Virgo degrees are destined to use the details of authentic service for a reason. I imagine we all have a role here right? What if those with this degree are the ones who may have more weight than others to resolve diabolical situations, complexities with their health? I wonder which of these waves reaches the shore of absolute truth.

A woman carefully counting the beans in a jar.

Taking outward phenomena literally. The utmost in naivete. You wander into every trap and pitfall with eyes wide open, wanting so badly for everything to add up and to make sense. Lacking a strong center of selfhood. Impressionable to received ideas and at the mercy of conditionings, wanting only to please and to make everybody happy, you are held within the circle of consensus agreement. Behaving in such exemplary fashion that it is too good to be true. All is from the outside in. Lessons in outlasting what you take on, and in showing up after being so far gone that nobody knew where to find you.

Scorpio 18° A woods rich in autumn coloring

This is a symbol of nature’s high ministry of service to every function and purpose of individual living, and of the varying manifestations of a reality supported and brought to its genuine fruitage by the eternal and illimitable resources on every hand. Life achieves its ultimate promise in a personal excellence, which may be found compounded a thousandfold.

Pisces 18: A gigantic tent
On the far side of town...

When compelling ideas and inspirations well up within, it is strongly desired to share with others. Here, in Pisces 18, the need is to search out someone, or some group, of like-minded folk.

If you are an Astrologer... not exactly a mainstream vocation in our times... you might seek out other Astrologers, perhaps go to a conference or attend a class. The experience is uplifting because everyone 'speaks the language'. By extension, if you are the only russian speaking person in your area, you may welcome a chance to join others who speak your language.

The dynamic within Pisces 18 tends to take you to the far side of town, to the out-skirts of town where, in times past, the traveling circuses, roadshows, medicine shows, evangelical gatherings tended to situate.

It does really matter if one literally must go to edge of town to find like-minded souls. But metaphorically, there is a need to get away from the mainstream in order to be with an other or others who share the inspiration.
Sagittarius 18° Tiny children in sunbonnets

This is a symbol of man’s very common self-cloistering on the practical side of experience, or of the individual’s capacity to give primary and needed attention to his own personal affairs. Normality is idealized as a corrective for the self-diffusion or frustration which follows from any inadequacy of contact with others. Here is a happy and full participation in everyday living, aided by some suitable and chosen role in life.

The Keyword is INNOCENCE.

When positive, the degree is a continual and complete protection of self through its exploration of its own potentials and its exploitation of its opportunities, and when negative, witless retreat to a wholly infantile self-assertiveness.

Sagittarius 18. A satyr chasing young maidens who are laughing and screaming. (Omega Symbol) Manifesting/Receptive

(Degree Angel: Mikael (MI-ka-EL) Revealing the Concealed, Political Authority and Order)

This degree evokes the energy of a realm before civilization, a time when all were free to play and be themselves. This refreshing vibration touches the child in all of us, and helps others find healing through play. It can untwist the restrictive convolutions of the intellect and undercut fear – loosening up the soul so it is free to breathe again. The joy of sexual, sensual, and erotic energies, expressed playfully, bring constant release and refreshment.

The Chandra Symbol for this degree is “Rose petals scattered on a path.” To make the way easier, more beautiful, so that it is not just a means to a destination but a joy to travel – this is the ideal of this degree. The rose petals lead us onward – they are love, and when we follow what we love as our own true path then we are at harmony with the world. This degree is a fine antidote to the grim and compelling agendas with which the world so often oppresses us.

Pleiadian Symbol: A man puts his ear to a daisy. Yes, it is laughing.

A woman writing with the tip of her fingernail. (Chandra Symbol). When love softens the path, we are more able to clearly see the messages that chance and coincidences are pointing out to us.

17-18 deg Sagittarius
Basically, this degree contributes an unpretentious faith in the goodness of God without a narrow or judgmental attitude. It may be a rather naive sense of optimism but it attaches itself to a belief in the stability of God’s purpose and design for the universe. All of the artistic instincts are supported here, granting at the very least an appreciation or intuitive attunement. His development is delicate and he must cope with a childlike innocence which may not be sufficiently strong to maintain respect. He is also very sensitive to rebuff as well as to cold weather. Because of his obvious weaknesses and, unless there is strength in other places, he may be rejected overcome by the consequences of his immature actions and hardships in life he is not equipped to handle. At worst,he still turns to his religious faith; Should other factors in the chart indicate the needed strength, this degree would provide the childlike qualities spoken of by Jesus as necessary for the entrance into heaven. Such qualities coupled with strength would raise him to great heights.

THE UNION JACK FLIES FROM A
NEW BRITISH WARSHIP
Commentary: ‘The Union Jack Flies From a New British Warship’ is
an image of the need for protection and control. It pictures having to
oversee and protect a large “empire” where reliability and leadership
are vital to the welfare of the people. Having to make one’s presence
felt and to guard one’s territory can be a tiring responsibility, but
there is an awareness of the guidance and protection of “all who
went before”. Effective supervision needs to be employed to protect
what’s been won, sometimes at great cost, from others who might
want to take it away. Countries, and things such as social and political
constructs, all the way down to the individual, need this surveillance
and protection from those who might invade, attack or threaten.
We invest the “armed forces’ with this responsibility, so that we, as
individuals in society, may enjoy our secure lives.
Oracle: This Symbol is about the need to defend our ideals, lifestyle
or culture from outside influences. It is important to show one’s
power, but also to continually renew strength. This can be a show
put on for others, but also an affirmation of safety for yourself and
those who are in your circle of influence or protection. If there is a
threat from outside your boundaries, or from within, there needs
to be a swift response to snuff it out. However, if anarchy erupts
within the ranks, political ploys may be used such as the concept of
“divide and rule”—the political rule that government is more easily
maintained if factions are set against each other and not allowed
to unite against the ruler. Distrust or disrespect for “authority” can
lead to problems with people branded traitors. Having confidence
in your ability to hold, maintain and protect your own “turf” will
ensure others do as well.

Keywords: Colonialism. Protectionism. The government, big business
and the media. Class-consciousness. Power and political displays.
Displays of “law and order”. Border patrols and protection. Strength
and might. Nationalism. Royalty. The ruling elite. Supervision. The
armed forces. Patrols. Pitting people against each other. Empires.
Victory bringing riches. The mother country. The struggle against
decline. Flags. Imperialism. The Commonwealth. The rule of law.

The Caution: Artificial shows of strength. Bullying from the “big
guys”. Being armed “to the teeth”. Strong-arm tactics. Disrespect
for authority. People or institutions that throw their weight around.
Anarchy. Traitors. Being anti-establishment. Social disintegration. War
games. Civil wars. Feeling squeezed by authority. Rebellion. Civilian
lives lost for political causes. Governing forces that deny individual
rights. Invasions. Being defensive.

Shared understanding...

A common experience. You happen to overhear two people speaking in their own language...it does not have to be Chinese or Polish or Urdu... it can be philosophical, Valley Girl, scientific, Astrological... and the striking thing is the intense shared understanding you are observing...even if you do not understand a word.

'Understanding' is a key motif throughout all the Gemini degrees. Together with communication, curiosity, quick thinking, understanding is sought for with the same intensity as a sense of belonging. Therefore, one is most happy to find someone else who shares a language and understanding.

Diana Crash- VENUS-LILITH
HARRY v WILLIAM

HARRY PROGRESSED

harry was frustrated with his role (Jup 6 cap) but then met Meghan as venus conj nodes in this case S.Node. He was married when this conjunct reached exaction.

At the same time Jupiter had moved from 6 cap (a frustrating degree) to 7 cap (a degree offering a choice of freedom).

There are problems here. Firstly the ve/s.n is usually the more problematic node. Also it is on an anaretic degree so something isn't quite right.
At this positive time though the Sun/Mercury/Pluto in 8th (of others) is trine Harry's ascendent which is good both for his image & popularity. However, the strength of these trines wanes
a few months afterwards and by 2019 two Quincunx's emerge - Nep Q n.node and Mars/Jup Q Chiron (mars/ju denotes royalty, here with chiron? the wounded).

Jupiter's exile in Capricorn suggests that H is not quite the carefree jester he portrayed in public, perhaps as with many clowns displaying an impish grin on the outside, under the mask the true face beheld a sadder, more bitter countenance. Virgo is a double sign of course similar in some ways to Gemini with its mercurial moods.

Also Moon is square the Nodes and Venus/S.Node forming a t-square which is not necessarily a negative as it demands working at towards a solution, however again
its only stressing an already stressed anaretic nodal axis.

Harry's problem here is that he has over estimated his abilities & talents which are quite limited, as are that of his wife and that both flaws exist in both charts if you look particularly at Jupiter. Harry's Jupiter/Neptune
conjunction is a good example of probable delusion in some manner or other. 11th house of aims & aspirations is ruled by
both aforementioned planets - his goals and ambitions are unrealistic. Saturn conjunct his MC often indicates a greivious fall from power unless he is very industrious and works hard - this is not an impression that springs to mind but maybe i am wrong and behind the walls of Monte Cito
he is beavering away building new additions to his already gargantuan Hollywood manor.

– This symbol denotes one whose aggressive and quarrelsome nature will lead him into all sorts of difficulties and

Uranus on 25 degrees in Aquarius is a strong indication for becoming a good astrologer, Aswell as having Sun on 25 degrees in Aquarius.
But on the otherhand, 25 degrees is also linked to alcoholism. Having a planet on 25 degrees in Leo is violent. Prominent alcoholics have planets on 25 degrees in the fixed signs.

29 degrees: it indicates karmic completion towards that planet. It indicates an ending of events in life (in solar or lunar chart). It also symbolizes urgency towards the energy of the planet on the 29th degree. So watch out for poorly made decisions.

Amplified Degrees in the Sings

==============================================

You will find that in the different articles I post, a couple of the fixed stars vary by one degree.
*Also, I've read to only allow a one degree orb when using fixed stars .)
DEGREES AND FIXED STARS OF THE ZODIAC
0-1 DEGREES OF ALL SIGNS MEANS BEGINNING SOMETHING IN PREDICTION.

29 DEGREES OF ALL SIGNS MEANS ENDING SOMETHING IN PREDICTION.

0-1 Degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn are extremely critical degrees, in predictive astrology; always a jump start, so to speak. These are the four cardinal signs; the solstice points of the Zodiac. What has begun, may or may not last. Cardinal signs indicate strong beginnings, but lack the stability of the fixed signs or the adaptablity of the mutable signs. 0-1 of Libra oftentimes signifies the beginning of a relationship in predictive astrology.

0-1 Degrees of Taurus is always permanent, in prediction, for good or bad.

0-1 Degrees of Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius is long lasting. Fixed signs signify permanence, stability and things that last. What has begun will more than likely last, in prediction.

0-1 Degrees
of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are beginnngs subject to change. Mutable signs always signify adaptability, restlessness and change. What has begun is subject to chages in prediction

29 Degrees
of Pisces is a permanent ending in predictive astrology, as is 29 degrees of Taurus.

13 and 26
Degrees of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn give special importance to the planet(s) or house cusps occupying the degree. The affairs ruled by the planets, the affairs ruled by the houses ruled by the planets or by the houses these degrees are on point to something of the above mentioned occuring in the life of the chart owner.

9 and 21
Degrees of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius -Same as the above, with a tendency to misfortune. 21 Degrees of Scorpio is a definite loss Natally or in prediction, the loss is not always negative.

4 and 17
of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are similar to the 13 and 26 Degrees of the Cardinal signs, mentioned above.

15 Degrees of Leo
is one of the worst degrees in the zodiac. Either natally or in prediction. Prominent in the charts of serial killers, felons serving life sentences, hard luck, etc. Helen Keller- blind/deaf had her chart co-ruler, Mars at 15 degrees of Leo, along with no air signs. (Air signs are communication).

25 degrees of Leo
is violent, many people in prison for violent crimes have their chart rulers on this degree. Also, this is not a good degree for a planet to be on in a predictive chart. Problems will result from this placement according to the affairs it rules and/or house it is in. This is a very strong degree of alchoholism. Many who are chronic alcoholics have prominent planets on the 25th degree of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius. Especially strong if Neptune is involved

15 Degrees of Taurus, Scorpio and Aquarius
are also unfortunate, but not to the extent as 15 degrees of Leo,one of the worst degrees in the Zodiac.

16, 17, 18, 19, 22 and 25 Degrees of Taurus are all degrees of violence.

9 Degrees of Gemini- degree of homocide.

17 Degrees of Gemini- degree of homocide.

6 Degrees of Cancer

12 Degrees of Leo,

9 Degrees of Virgo and Pisces
are known as fatal degrees, body in the ditch degrees or degrees of suffering.

9 degrees of Pisces

22 degrees of all signs

(sorry, I dont have the links. These were all in my files. You'll probably want to print them out.)
Generally, the only ones I look at are the ones listed in Anthony Louis' book Horary Astrology Plain and Simple. He provides a longer list of stars in an appendix.

Caput Algol: Signifies "losing one's head" over a matter...either figuratively, or literally. Very malefic. Jacobson qualifies the influence of Algol by implying that a significator must suffer additional affliction for Algol's to be fully felt.

Alcyone: Also very malefic.

Regulus: Traditionally called "Cor Leonis," or the Heart of the Lion, this is, according to Louis, "the most benefic star in the universe." The star gives wealth, glory, victory.

Vindemiatrix: Traditionally, the star of widowhood. Malefic. According to Jacobson, especially significant in questions about domestic issues.

Spica: Benefic. Lies in the Via Combusta (15° Libra to 15° Scorpio). A planet within a 1° conjunction of Spica is protected against the heat of "the fiery way."

Arcturus: Lies at 24Lib14. Benefic. Same helpful influence as Spica.
For a more comprehensive list of fixed stars, consult The Fixed Stars website.
Other Malefic Degrees

Serpentis: This is always at 19° Scorpio; it does not change. Traditionally, it is regarded as, "The cursed degree of the accursed sign." According to Jacobson, this degree is particularly relevent in questions concerning partnerships, and the acquisition of animals.

Pleiades. 29 Taurus. "The Weeping Sisters." Malefic. A planet or angle here suggests that there will be something to cry about.
22° Leo. A degree listed by Anthony Louis, and signifying a tendency to be the agent of one's own undoing, or to work against oneself.

Just taking a look at what they have to say about the fixed star, caput algol conjunct my Sun.
Ummmm..........
ALGOL-- 26TA07 -- #3733 -- mag variable
Algol represents the severed head of Medusa, held in the hand of Perseus. The name is from Ra's al Ghul, the Demon's Head, aka Caput Algol and Caput Medusae; known as Lilith by the Hebrews and Tseih She (piled-up corpses) by the Chinese.
Influence: Algol is all the passion and intensity of the feminine which can be used effectively or destructively. Ptolemy gave it the nature of Saturn & Mars, causing misfortune, decapitation, hanging, a violent nature, and was thought to be the most evil star in the heavens. Medically, this is a double star - one has Saturn qualities and the other Mars/Uranus/Pluto ones. Most deadly of all fixed stars, it exerts a tragic influence, and may bring on chronic illnesses, dental problems, arthritis.

CAPUT ALGOL - [26 Degrees of Taurus]
Here is one of the most violent stars in the zodiac. In natal charts, this gives a most violent disposition, with murderous tendencies. This is intensified when intoxicated. The mean viscious drunk. On the upside, it bestows athletic ability. The intense nature, when sublimated, can give the drive to reach the top. Olympic gymnasts, Shannon Miller and Olga Korbut are examples here. When conjunct the descendent, violence will come from others, especially the lover or marriage partner.

Caput Algol: Signifies "losing one's head" over a matter...either figuratively, or literally. Very malefic. Jacobson qualifies the influence of Algol by implying that a significator must suffer additional affliction for Algol's to be fully felt.

I have many more fixed star 'afflictions' in my chart. I dont know what to make of these interps. I could relate some of it to me, but not all. It's interesting to say the least.

26Taurus -
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU - I could kiss you for all this EXTREMELY HELPFUL information. You are a godsend. Most of the day yesterday looking for information and I didn't get 1/4 of what you posted. I really appreciate you taking the time out to do this.
I'm actually starting to work on figuring out where these fixed stars fall on my chart - OH MY GOSH - you gave me their numbers too?! xoxoxo, really. you have no idea how helpful all of this is to me.

actually, it's funny because it all started with the US forecast from Maya Del Mar via TOHTWAVES for yesterday - it said "TUESDAY JUNE 7. This is an odd day. Moon is still in nervous Gemini, and we may awaken feeling irritable and feisty. This mood is apt to continue until Moon goes VOC at 2:50 p.m. EDT. Perhaps we can harness this underlying irritability through applying ourselves to work which requires much energy, either physical or mental.

At 8:46 p.m., Moon enters emotional Cancer. Shortly afterwards, half of the planets are especially active, indicating that tomorrow will be a big day. This day is also strongly affected. Sleep may be difficult tonight.

One of the influences heightens imagination and sparks the creative impulse. The other influence can be disruptive to communication, e.g., power struggles, equipment problems, and accidents. It may encourage changing our minds about something important. Or hidden information may come to light. With Moon in Cancer, we may feel threats to security. Washington DC shows the possibility of a destructive influence via fixed star Algol."

when i read it - "what is algol?" was the only thing ringing in my head.

then, when i started reading about it - i said - okay, this is a good start. fayte brought up in another forum past lives and i have this reoccuring thought that my head was cut off in my past life and the reasoning behind my "beheading" which reverberated to my current life's purpose so...........i think this would be really good for me to go through.

I know that their were several negative connotations to what fixed stars represent in a person's chart but i say - hey, I figured that as "stuck" as i feel in my life at this moment - moving forward with my life's path........looking to where the fixed stars fall in my chart could really help me get unstuck by acknowledging, encouraging and then applying it. I'm ready to move forward and put myself out there so - hopefully i could get a lot of confusion out of the way.

THANKS AGAIN 26TAURUS - and thanks for the very warm welcome.

You are so welcome amisha!! Glad I could help you out! I knew that info would come in handy one day! Yes, I agree. This info could help you get unstuck. I like it when people use things to their advantage, and dont get caught up with the negative aspects of certain interpretations.
It's here to help us become better people.
Take care.
