Chiron-Eris

Oct. 9th, 2025 01:57 pm
Chiron retrogrades over Eris in Aries. An important suggestion for this transit: Cull your social media. Ensure contacts are valid and followers real. Establish actual connection with people instead of the cold aloofness of social media. Delete scammers and riffraff. Not exactly supporting this transit, Trump recently maneuvered an arrangement that per his declaration “saved” Tiktok. That’s not helpful for this transit. Nor is the recent and in-orb introduction of the AI-created actress, Tilly Norwood. Both these events do align with the retrospective implied by both planets above being retrograde. However, the noted events do not support organic, wholesome, human-warmth-based relationships. Rethink how algorithms and AI manipulate your world and become savvy and accountable for your metadata.

October 9–21, 2025 (next 10–12 days from current date)

Venus in Virgo aligns with the Super Galactic Center (ZS) and traipses over the Virgo Supercluster, supporting soulful relationships and reducing soul-mate pressurization; effects last for a fortnight (about 2 weeks).

Mars aligns with the Galactic/Super Galactic Center (Z/ZS) midpoint and the black hole APR 220 (brightest object in our local group from a galactic collision); within orb of Venus transit, emphasizing action preceding communication.
October 16, 2025
Mercury transits APR 220 and Z/ZS, following Mars; corresponds with Mars advancing to conjoin the Hercules Supercluster (opposing Perseus-Pisces Supercluster).
October 18, 2025
Mercury transits the degree related to the Hercules Supercluster opposition to Perseus-Pisces Supercluster; highlights engagement preceding articulation in supercluster transits.

October 19, 2025
Mars-Mercury conjunction (messenger and energy director align), conspiring to support Venus transits; encourages expressing passions, receiving fulfillment, and articulating life realizations.
October 31, 2025 (Trick or Treat/Halloween)

Endpoint reference for the transit period; opportunities for "getting while the getting’s good" before this date, providing bounty leading into Thanksgiving.
November 27, 2025 (fourth Thursday in November)
U.S. Thanksgiving; culmination of transit energies, offering ample bounty for gratitude after the Venus, Mars, and Mercury alignments.
March 18, 2026

Next Chiron-Eris conjunction (both direct); contrasts with supercluster vibes of expansive connection, highlighting ongoing themes of wounding and discord antithetical to galactic gatherings.

July 2025 — Uranus Enters Gemini: Truth Disrupted
On July 7, Uranus enters Gemini, joining Jupiter in the 9th house and striking at the nation’s legal nervous system. This is the signature of disruption—of sudden shifts in how justice, truth, and authority are communicated and contested.

A cyber or media scandal may erupt, possibly tied to Musk or another tech giant, igniting debates around surveillance, censorship, and the ethics of digital power. Infrastructure may falter. Courts may fracture. Narratives may splinter into competing realities.

The old rules no longer apply. Uranus rewrites the manual.

August 2025 — The Dream Dissolves
Neptune and Saturn retrograde near the U.S. IC, the chart’s deepest root. The illusion of institutional righteousness breaks down. Ethics scandals may rock the Supreme Court, or state courts may rise to national prominence as trust in federal authority wanes.

This is the moment the country realizes that no institution is sacred, no narrative untouchable. Disillusionment deepens—but from it, a grassroots truth may begin to form.

September 2025 — Eclipse Reckonings: Who Owns the Truth?
The eclipse season culminates in a lunar eclipse in Pisces (September 7) and a solar eclipse in Virgo (September 21), activating the 3rd and 9th houses—America’s axis of communication and ideology.

The Pisces lunar eclipse at 15° casts a haze over the nation’s media, education, and public speech. Emotional revelations surface. A media entity may fracture or fall. Confusion spreads—but clarity begins to gestate in the shadows.

Then, the Virgo solar eclipse at 28° lands like a scalpel in the 9th house, opposing the U.S. Venus and Jupiter in Cancer. This is a moment of reckoning for the legal system, for truth-tellers, and for those who build the moral structure of the nation. What began in March as a question of who judges now ends in how judgment is defined, enforced, and institutionalized.

Final Reflection: The Fire We Carry
From March through September, the U.S. chart is lit up by fire, truth, and transformation. The Libra eclipse tested the legitimacy of power. The Pisces eclipse dissolves old stories. The Virgo eclipse demands we write new ones—precise, ethical, and built to endure.

In the middle of it all, Mars in Gemini, America’s courtroom warrior, takes the field. Not with violence, but with language, with argument, with law.

And in the Promethean arc of 2025, we are reminded: fire is a gift—but it always comes with a cost. Whether that cost is paid by tech titans, Supreme Court justices, or the public trust itself… remains to be seen.

The sky is on fire. And so is the future.

SUNDAY: Moon regains focus at 2:50 AM ET, when it enters Pisces. After all this Mars, Mars action, the Pisces Moon seeks empathy, ideals, and other intangibles. Instead, it receives a shock of recognition, perhaps, as Moon squares Uranus at 4:52 AM ET. Whatever the upset, it's deep and executed with an easy flow of action in the extreme, reflecting the trine between Mars and Pluto at 8:29 AM ET. Patterns this evening support abundance and caring, as Moon trines Venus and Jupiter at 1:11 AM ET and 2:54 AM ET. And then...

MONDAY: CHILL for the next 28 hours! Moon will be void....AND...Mercury turns retrograde at 3:29 AM ET. That means using extra care and FOCUS in all matters of travel, information, and communication.

There are two other notable patterns happening late Monday-Tuesday -- stay tuned for why they are notable in the next forecast. But if you have planets around 14 degrees of just about any sign, consider buying a couple of lottery tickets. Ya never know.

Meanwhile, it's Mars, Mars, Mars -- in our face at the very end of Virgo/early Libra. Mars is at the root of a pattern that looks like a kite -- and that is what it is called -- see below.

Mars, Pluto, and Uranus are in an Air Grand Trine, suggesting innovative and empowered actions that are sweeping in scope -- and not the least bit interested in considering intellectual input from others. This is a "law unto itself" pattern.

Saturn-Neptune in Aries are at the top of the kite, and they are in a Minor Grand Trine pattern with Uranus and Pluto. As noted in prior forecasts, we see potential for a collapse of systems that are corrupt (and thus deserve to collapse), for no reason other than "because I said so." We add this energy flow to the potential of the opposition between Mars and Saturn-Neptune.

Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are not in this chart, FYI.

And now, the news.

Energy Secretary "Chris Wright touts Energy Department's Misleading Claims" on climate change and its connection to turbulence -- paywalled, but the visible paragraphs tell you enough. Meanwhile, "Scientists decry [Wright's] efforts to update climate reports. 'That's what Stalin did'" -- and this is where we are, as anticipated.

"Netanyahu says Israel's goal is not to take over Gaza, but to free it from Hamas” Oh? Mars in Libra is a "warrior for peace" -- but with Neptune involved, things may not be as they seem. I can't believe I've been writing about Netanyahu for over 10 years, but here he is now -- with disruptive, reckless potential in his horoscope -- at least through April 2026. Similar patterns are in Israel's horoscope. After April, transiting Pluto will oppose Israel's regal Leo Moon, ruler of its Midheaven (public status). We may expect extremes of regal drama with respect to its reputation through January 2027 -- and that's as far ahead as I want to look.

August 8 was convicted felon Trump's deadline for a ceasefire thingy in Ukraine. That didn't happen, so instead he’s planning to meet wanted-for-war-crimes Putin in...Alaska...on August 15th. Heather Cox Richardson explains it all here -- truly, this is essential reading, filled with facts you may have forgotten or never known. Meanwhile, the CF will have transiting Mars on Neptune on that day, suggesting actions based on faith or deception — or a possibly a bad cold.

"RFK Jr. cancels $500 million in funding for mRNA vaccine development" -- this extreme initiative coincides with transiting Jupiter on his 13 Cancer Moon and transiting Pluto exactly opposed his 2 Leo Ascendant for the second of three passes (the third happens in December). His is another horoscope to watch around September 6th, as Mars opposes his 19 Libra MC.

"Sorry, billionaires. There's no escape." This "weird" WSJ op-Ed by David Mamet "defies summary," according to Jeff Jarvis -- who shared it on Bluesky. Obviously Jarvis isn't hip to astrology. Summary: the op-Ed is a delightful reflection of Mars (action, anger, attack) trine Uranus (aviation, rebels), opposing Saturn (blocks) and Neptune (weird, escapes) in me-first Aries, trine Powers That Be Pluto, published on a status-seeking, much ado about nothing Moon void in Capricorn. It also inspires hope.

Spain is scrapping a plan to buy US-made F-35 fighter jets and will invest its billions in European companies instead. Mars (military) opposed by Saturn (loss).

erry Gilliam, RIP?
At 3:13 p.m. PDT on September 8, 2015 in Los Angeles, Variety magazine published the obituary of filmmaker and Monty Python alum Terry Gilliam.1 Awful news. Except — guess what? — Gilliam was, and still is, absolutely, positively not dead.

How could this howling error happen? Why would it happen to Terry Gilliam? Was it a totally random, freak occurrence? What if an investigative reporter looked a little deeper? If one did, she’d find that how this freaky thing could happen is screamingly obvious in Gilliam’s horoscope.

Terry GilliamGilliam’s Sun is at 29°49’ Scorpio. On the day his obituary was published, transiting Saturn was at 29°24’ Scorpio, almost exactly conjunct his Sun. Transiting Saturn conjunct the Sun is a heavy, few-times-in-a-lifetime transit, suggesting potentials including (but not limited to) a streamlined focus on ambition (on the upside) or a squeeze on one’s vitality (on the potential downside).

Gilliam’s Midheaven (MC) is at 8°19’ Gemini. The MC refers to career and public status. Transiting Neptune was at 8°11’ Pisces, in an almost exact square to that MC. Transiting Neptune tends to dissolve whatever it touches, often shrouding it in a rose-colored fog. Things may not be as they seem. The resulting bedazzlement and/or bewilderment may be experienced as what astrologer Noel Tyl describes as an “ego wipe-out.”

So, we see in Gilliam’s horoscope two huge patterns that do not happen every day, suggesting potential limitation and illusion. Gilliam is declared dead, but — wait, things are not as they seem — since he is most assuredly alive!

What else would Gilliam’s transits suggest? Neptune may also be experienced as a need for a creative or spiritual vision. Transiting Neptune has been within a 5° orb of squaring Gilliam’s MC since February 2013, and will be within 5° of opposing his Ascendant until May 2019. In May 2016, it was announced that one of his cherished creative ambitions had finally received another round of funding, reflecting the potential for abundance that solar arc Jupiter square natal Venus (exact on April 15) suggests. The film is scheduled to begin shooting in the fall. What’s the project? The Man Who Killed Don Quixote!2 Cue “The Impossible Dream,” please — the ultimate Neptune endeavor.

Now, let’s look at the timing of headline-grabbing events in the horoscopes of people who are clearly, dearly departed.

"Woodrow Wilson, Stud Muffin"
Yes, really, that was Maureen Dowd’s catchy headline, topping her Sunday column in The New York Times on December 7, 2013.3

Dowd had spent an evening with Pulitzer Prize–winning author A. Scott Berg, discussing Wilson, his biography about the 28th president of the United States. The book was generating quite a buzz, but of greatest interest to Dowd that night were juicy tidbits about Woodrow Wilson’s love life. Why in the world would his love life be attracting attention now?

Wilson-DiCaprioWoodrow Wilson was born on December 29, 1856. His Sun is at 7°47’ Capricorn, opposed by Saturn at 11° Cancer. If this were a living person’s horoscope, we’d expect major events in life development to occur between 2012 and 2014, as transiting Uranus and Pluto made hard aspects to the Sun and Saturn. We see the potential for an upset to the status quo and a dramatic change of perspective, ideally evolving into emancipation (Uranus) and empowerment (Pluto). At the very least, we might expect a prominent buzz.

Woodrow Wilson (being dead) can’t take action to manifest this potential, but the horoscope has a life of its own. The potential was realized in perfect synchronicity with Wilson’s horoscope when A. Scott Berg’s sizzling biography was published. It was such a hot property that Leonardo DiCaprio optioned it, intending to portray President Wilson in a future film. Wilson’s horoscope is still working, even if Wilson isn’t!

As for being called “stud muffin” in a serious news publication, note that Wilson has Venus and Mars exactly conjunct in Aquarius, both of which square Uranus. We could expect an electric, focused sex appeal and unconventional relationships. His Moon–Pluto square suggests intense emotional engagement. On December 7, 2013, transiting Saturn was at 17°52’ Scorpio, less than one degree past an exact square to Wilson’s Venus–Mars conjunction. His “stud muffin” qualities were being taken with much gravitas, as Dowd notes (quoting Berg):

Wilson wrote thousands of letters to his first wife, several hundred to his second. These are the most passionate love letters I’ve ever read. They’re not pornographic, so you don’t have to run out to look for that, but they are incredibly romantic, often sexual, very emotional, deeply, deeply emotional letters. At a certain point, they get sickening. They’re just too much.

But why Leonardo DiCaprio? What was his attraction to Woodrow Wilson? Would the synastry we’d expect to see in two living people be found between the horoscope of a living person and a dead person? Yes!

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Moon is at 15° Libra, right on Wilson’s Ascendant. This is a compelling emotional and personal connection. DiCaprio’s Scorpio Sun and Venus trine Wilson’s 17° Cancer MC and sextile Wilson’s Mercury at 18° Capricorn. We can see how Leonardo DiCaprio might feel that he could successfully express himself (Sun–Venus) through Wilson’s identity (Ascendant), status (MC), and mindset (Mercury).

DiCaprioNumerous other synastric connections suggest the force of their “mutual attraction,” including, but not limited to:

DiCaprio’s Libra Ascendant opposing Wilson’s Jupiter
DiCaprio’s Cancer MC square Wilson’s Jupiter
DiCaprio’s Libra Moon trine Wilson’s Venus–Mars conjunction
DiCaprio’s Scorpio Sun–Venus in Scorpio trine Wilson’s Neptune and MC
DiCaprio’s Sun–Venus square Wilson’s Venus–Mars conjunction
DiCaprio’s Libra Pluto square Wilson’s Capricorn Sun
DiCaprio’s Scorpio Mars sextile Wilson’s Capricorn Sun
Fascinating, isn’t it?

We’d also quickly see that transiting Pluto and Uranus would be supercharging angles and planets in both horoscopes in 2015–18, as they hit 15°–18° Capricorn and Aries, respectively.

In 2013, I wrote that if the Woodrow Wilson biopic starring Leonardo DiCaprio was released in 2015, it would likely generate fame and potential good fortune for them both.4 As it turned out, the Wilson biopic was not released in 2015, but The Revenant was. DiCaprio won a truckload of awards for his starring role in late 2015, as well as his first Oscar® in 2016. Score!

What about Woodrow Wilson? True to the potential of his horoscope, his status was also dramatically upset. Transiting Uranus squaring Mercury and the MC was the provocateur, suggesting potential for a shocking revelation about Wilson’s mindset. The first square to the MC from Uranus was in April 2015; the first to Mercury was in May. A few weeks later, The Washington Post ran a piece reminding its readers that, soon after Wilson became president in March 1913, he:

… promptly authorized members of his cabinet to reverse [a] long-standing policy of racial integration in the federal civil service … [re-segregating] facilities such as restrooms and cafeterias in their buildings. In some federal offices, screens were set up to separate white and black workers.5

Shocking, indeed. A man revered in the late 20th century as a Nobel Peace Prize–winning progressive was also a fierce segregationist.

The second hits to Wilson’s MC and Mercury from Uranus were in early October and November. On November 23, 2015, The New York Times reported that, at Princeton University (Wilson’s alma mater), “the heralded alum was now being recast as an intolerant one.”6 A campaign that had started in September demanded that the university publicly acknowledge Wilson’s “racist legacy” and rename the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and campus buildings bearing his name. By November, there were walk-outs, sit-ins, and other disruptive actions on campus.

In April 2016, weeks after the final hit by Uranus to Wilson’s Mercury and MC, Princeton officials voted to preserve the status quo. But the sullying of Wilson’s reputation by the awful truth had already been done. Astrology is amazing!

Postscript: In the course of writing this article, I looked at Wilson’s solar arcs. If I had looked at them back in 2013, when considering Wilson’s prospects for 2015, I would have zeroed in on a solar arc from Pluto to his natal Saturn, exact in August 2015. This suggests that a particularly grueling effort would be required against a threat of loss. Wilson received the prominence his transits indicated, and the solar arc suggests how much would likely be at stake!

Frida Kahlo’s Big Close-Up
In early May 2015, New York Times reporter Guy Trebay was surprised that Ms. Kahlo was “having a moment”:

In a welcome though unexpected convergence, an array of new books and exhibitions about Kahlo have suddenly appeared this spring, adding insight and depth to our understanding of a woman who would seem among the most overexposed artistic figures of all time.7

Frida Kahlo died in 1954 when she was 47 years old. Patterns in her horoscope in 2015 clearly reflected the increasing buzz her work had been generating around the world. The words in italics (mine) in the above quote from Trebay’s article give us a clue to the transits triggering the attention.

Frida Kahlo chart

If an event is unexpected and sudden, offering insight and depth, we can reasonably expect transits, solar arcs, and/or progressions involving Uranus and Pluto. In a two-second glance at Kahlo’s horoscope, we’re immediately drawn to her natal Neptune and Sun in Cancer opposing Uranus and Mars in Capricorn. We see the potential for an electrifying visionary — a creature like no other — alluring and fiercely revolutionary. The planets in that intense configuration were receiving exact, hard transits from Uranus and Pluto for three years, beginning in February 2013, with transiting Pluto at 10° Capricorn conjunct her natal Uranus.

In Kahlo’s horoscope, Uranus is in the 5th house, ruling the 7th. A Pluto transit to her Uranus suggests prominence or empowered perspective in matters related to unconventional relationships (7th house), as well as creativity and self-expression, including sexual expression (5th house). In October 2012, as transiting Pluto came to within 3° of its first exact conjunction with natal Uranus, Kahlo was one of the first honorees inducted into Chicago’s Legacy Walk, an outdoor public display celebrating the lives of influential LGBT people. On the plaque commemorating the bisexual Mexican artist, we see these words, “Defying convention, she flaunted numerous extramarital affairs.“8 Yes … and with a Pluto transit through her 5th, it would be more power to her.

The creativity Kahlo expressed in her partnership with her husband, fellow artist Diego Rivera, also gained prominence at that time in a dual retrospective entitled “Frida & Diego: Passion, Politics, and Painting.” It opened at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto, Canada in October 2012 and traveled to the High Museum of Art in Atlanta in February 2013.9

Throughout 2013, transiting Pluto and Uranus would continue to make contact with Kahlo’s natal Uranus and Neptune, sowing seeds of genius and inspiration the world would see manifested in 2014 and 2015, when Pluto and Uranus supercharged her Sun and Mars. In April 2014, Tree of Hope, a musical about her life, premiered in West Hollywood. In October, the four-act opera Frida y Diego premiered in Helsinki, Finland.

Frida KahloAlso in 2014, transiting Saturn at 23° Scorpio made contact with all four angles of her horoscope, actually stationing retrograde on her IC at that degree in March. When a living person experiences transiting Saturn at the IC, we can expect a need to focus on core foundation, family, and other domestic concerns. In Kahlo’s horoscope, with all of her angles at 23° fixed, we expect to see her life getting Saturn’s streamlining focus and potential for advance from all angles — literally: in her relationship to the public (Descendant), in her personal presentation (Ascendant), and in her career/public status (MC), as well as in family/domestic concerns (IC).

In fact, intimate details of Kahlo’s domestic life were the focus of one biographer and several museum curators, whose efforts went public in 2015. In March, Frida Kahlo: The Gisele Freund Photographs was published, and the book was lauded in Trebay’s NYT article for its “most intimate insights into her life and working process …

The opening of “Art-Garden-Life” in May 2015 coincided with the following energizing patterns in Kahlo’s horoscope:

During the first half of May, transiting Sun and Mars in Taurus successively hit all angles in her horoscope.
Transiting Jupiter in Leo made the third hit to all angles in July, after stationing retrograde at 22° Leo in December 2014, just minutes away from her 23° Leo Ascendant.
Transiting Uranus at 18° Aries would station retrograde in July and square her natal Jupiter at 20° Capricorn.
It all added up to a summer of prominence, expansion, and empowerment for Frida Kahlo. This was surprising to the reporter who marveled at her commercial success,10 but not to the astrologer who looked at her horoscope. What further surprises and fresh starts will Kahlo “experience” when she “gets it from all angles” from transiting Uranus at 23° Taurus on her MC in 2024 and 2025?

Hans Christian Andersen: Frozen Hot!
Andersen died in 1875. He is the author of “The Snow Queen,” the classic fairy tale that inspired Frozen, the highest-grossing animated film of all time, as Variety reported on March 30, 2014.11 Frozen was released by Walt Disney Studios in November 2013. What was going on in Andersen’s horoscope to suggest so much fame and fortune?

Andersen-Frozen

The short answer is a transiting Uranus–Pluto square. Yea, verily, in headline after headline after headline, a deceased person making news is experiencing a heavy outer planet making a hard aspect to a faster-moving personal planet or angle, just as we’d expect in a living human being.
In Andersen’s case, we immediately see the Sun and Mercury in Aries opposing Saturn in Libra (inner wheel). Each of these planets was transited by Uranus and Pluto simultaneously: in May 2013, when Uranus and Pluto were exactly square at 11° Aries–Capricorn; in April 2014, when the two were at 13° Aries–Capricorn; and in December 2014, when they were at 12° Aries–Capricorn.

When Variety announced Frozen’s record-breaking revenue, transiting Jupiter was at 11° Cancer, adding its expansiveness to the Uranus–Pluto square (outer wheel). Sprinkling more pixie dust was transiting Neptune, just past an exact square to natal Jupiter, ruler of Andersen’s Sagittarius Ascendant. While Neptune–Jupiter transits on the downside suggest potential scandal and challenging legal concerns, on the upside we could imagine other Neptune arenas — such as music, fairy tales, and movie magic — expanded beyond one’s wildest dreams.

In March 2015, plans for a sequel to Frozen were announced; plans for a stage version of the original animated film were announced in early 2014.12 The stage play is expected to open in 2017. Might this coincide with the Jupiter transit to Andersen’s natal Uranus (ruling the 2nd house) and his MC? Frozen 2 is expected to arrive in movie theaters in 2018, perhaps just in time for Hans Christian Andersen’s exuberant Jupiter return and solar arc Moon conjunct Jupiter.

Harper Lee’s Fresh Start
Harper Lee chart

The reclusive author of the classic novel To Kill a Mockingbird passed away in February 2016. Her Ascendant at 25° Libra was opposed (within 1°) by transiting Uranus in August 2016, and the opposition will be exact in May 2017. Uranus will station retrograde and hover at 25° Aries for months between November 2017 and February 2018. Transits to the Ascendant from Uranus often suggest a fresh start. Guess what’s planned for Lee around that time? A new stage production of To Kill a Mockingbird to be written by Aaron Sorkin. The play has never had a Broadway run. It’s scheduled to open during the 2017–18 season.13 A fresh start, indeed — and potentially quite a splash when it premieres, as a look at other transits in Lee’s horoscope suggests.

Transiting Jupiter will cross her Ascendant in October 2017. How nice for a potential public debut! Starting in January 2018, transiting Jupiter in Scorpio will then energize and expand her natal t-square involving Mars–Jupiter conjunct in Aquarius, opposed by Neptune in Leo, all square to the Moon and Saturn in Scorpio. Mars conjunct Jupiter in Aquarius and opposing Neptune suggests no small amount of energy and charisma for championing a faith-based and/or humanistic cause. The Moon–Saturn conjunction in Scorpio suggests a need to be appreciated for depth and substance, mastery and control.

Transiting Jupiter will station at 23° Scorpio in March 2018, exactly conjunct Harper Lee’s natal Saturn and square her natal Jupiter. It will conjoin her Moon at 19° Scorpio, ruler of her 10th house, in May — just as transiting Uranus squares her MC at 28° Cancer. Tony nominations, anyone?

Lucy, Loved at Last
On April 7, 2015, it was reported that possibly the most unflattering statue ever erected of anyone was to be taken down — with apologies from the artist who created it.14 Back in August 2009, the freakishly ugly life-sized bronze purporting to depict Lucille Ball was installed in a park in her hometown of Celoron, New York. Dramatic patterns in Ball’s horoscope were at play.

Lucille Ball
In 2009, transiting Pluto conjoined her 1° Capricorn Ascendant three times (inner wheel), suggesting a ruthless tear-down and/or transformation in how she is perceived. Transiting Uranus in Pisces was opposing her natal Venus, ruler of her MC and the 5th house of creative self-expression. Uranus–Venus transits can suggest unconventional attraction and aesthetics. There’s the potential for “freaky.” Expanding on that potential was transiting Jupiter in Aquarius opposing Ball’s 13° Leo Sun.

So, why did it take six years to uninstall “Scary Lucy”? What was the world waiting for? Only this: In the last week of March 2015, as transiting Jupiter retrograde conjoined Ball’s 13° Leo Sun, “outrage over the statue exploded seemingly out of nowhere.” (outer wheel.) Jupiter stationed direct at 12° Leo on April 8. Plans to remove the statue were announced that week, with Jupiter applying to its third conjunction with Ball’s Sun (exact on April 29). On May 11, at transiting Jupiter’s third square to her Mars at 14° Taurus, ruler of her 4th house (home), local officials formally voted to have the ugly statue sent away.15 Lucy was loved at last! Coincidence?

Not a coincidence at all. Horoscopes live forever, as these convincing cases suggest. The patterns in the horoscope, when triggered by planetary transits, solar arcs, and progressions, are reflected in life events even after that life has ended.

Chiron

Mar. 28th, 2025 12:46 pm
Chiron moved into Aries in 2019 and for the world, it's a war wound. Note how the Libra fall 2024 eclipse on the ascendant of Israel marked the start of a horrendous war. The April Chiron infused solar eclipse hints that the USA may be a critical player in peace deals for the middle east (and Russia Ukraine) over the weeks and months that follow Chiron direct.

Chiron is not just the wound, Chiron was the mentor of the warriors of the ancient world -- Hercules, Achilles, both learned from Chiron to only kill as a last resort. The concept of the noble hero in war, rather than the plundering attacker, is embedded in Chiron - War archetypes.

For the incoming administration, Chiron travels direct through Donald Trump's 9th house of foreign countries (and yes, courts). It seems plausible that his administration will move quickly into foreign policy actions to quell the "forever: wars in the world.

In your own life think back to 2019 and the whole sign Aries part of your natal sky. This area has been wounded. For me, it's my writing and travel third house. Covid locked me down as a Canadian who choose to not take the vax -- I was not allowed to leave my country, or travel within it!

familiar with the terms “purging” or “healing crisis”. This happens ONLY if we become aware of the wound. If the wound remains unconscious, healing doesn’t happen. Chiron transforms the wound into a GIFT Once the wound has been HEALED!
earch of previous Rahu solar eclipses occurring in Pisces (at the Vedic Lunar New Year), I noticed a trend of unprecedented events. These kinds of events may include terrorist attacks, mass casualties and disasters (especially involving floods, drowning, ships, waterways, planes, and oceans), political upheaval and assassinations (or assassination attempts), rebellions and riots, militarization and wars, and financial crises. These events may occur within a time range of six months before or after the solar eclipse.

I looked back to the last time we had a similar eclipse including Neptune, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Venus, and Rahu in Pisces, and it was in 53 AD (note that Mercury was not involved in that eclipse as it is now).

In 53 AD, the apostle Paul set out on his third mission to spread the Christian message. He traveled for about six years from Antioch (near present day Syria) through the areas that are now Türkiye, Greece, Lebanon, and Israel. Around the same time, the apostle Thomas traveled to the Malabar Coast of India to what is now modern-day Kerala, to spread the gospel of Christianity. So it seems there may be a spiritual resurgence in the world related to this current eclipse, as well.

Entering the Vishwavasu Year - A Year of Faith and Confidence

In addition to the influence of the partial eclipse, the current lunar cycle will impact us during the new year. The classic text known as Brihat Samhita by Sage Varahamihira states that there are 60 samvatsaras or lunar years that continue to cycle throughout time. These 60 years are organized into 12 groups of five. The current group of five years spans from 2022-2027, and the upcoming fourth year within this group of five is known as Vishwavasu Nama Samvatsara. This is the 39th of 60 samvatsaras. It will be in place from March 29, 2025 until March 19, 2026.

Each samvatsara has a particular essence that correlates with its Sanskrit name. Last year was a Krodhi year. The name translates as “angry and wrathful.” The Krodhi year is thus associated with aggression and violence, as well as lust, deceit, self-righteousness, arrogance, and greed.

As stated above, the new year will be a Vishwavasu Year. This year is said to bring some improvements after the difficult Krodhi year. It will not be perfect by any means, because we live within the realm of duality where we always have to face many conflicts and challenges.

Yet, the Vishwavasu Year refers to a year when we have the ability to be inspired with tremendous faith and confidence, and when there will be less anger and hatred than in the previous year. Jataka Parijata describes one born in this year as having a good sense of humor and being of high honor and rich in moral worth, and this can be translated to what we may all aspire to in the year itself.

Vedic Lunar New Year Chart - A Snapshot of the Next Twelve Months

Now that we have discussed the eclipse and lunar cycle, let’s take a look at the chart for the new year ahead. Different parts of the world will have their own Vedic Lunar New Year horoscopes based on their unique coordinates and time zones which change from place to place. Though the planets will be in the same signs, they will move into other houses as we transfer from one location to another. For my clients who live in different parts of the world, I often discuss the specific New Year chart for their particular regions. However, for my purposes here, I only have time to review the chart for the United States.

The Vedic Lunar New Year chart for each country is calculated when the New Moon occurs in Pisces, as seen from the location of the country’s capital. For instance, we use Washington, D.C. for the United States, where the New Moon will occur on March 29, 2025 at 6:57:46 AM. This occurs right before sunrise, so the Vedic New Year will begin on this day.

The New Moon/eclipse will occur in the First House in an intense and complicated Pisces stellium which gives mixed results. As mentioned before in this article and others, this stellium suggests that we are living in unprecedented times, both good and bad.

The Pisces New Moon/eclipse in the First House points to many important changes in the nation, much activity, and some great benefits to the nation’s citizens at large. The New Moon is conjoined two benefic planets Mercury and Venus. They are both retrograde, indicating that a little extra effort and time will be needed for their good fortune to manifest.

The mutual reception between Venus in Pisces and Jupiter in Taurus also suggests mixed results, including some prosperity and improvement in the affairs of the government and people, but also various threats and challenges that can make it difficult to deliver certain promised and desired results. These threats and challenges are further signified by the conjunction of Rahu, Saturn, and Neptune which I have discussed at length in several of my recent articles.

Additionally, the New Moon/eclipse in Pisces will occupy the fourth house of the United States Kelleher birth chart, as it also did last year. This emphasizes the potential new developments in transportation matters, infrastructure, land, real estate, agriculture, mines, minerals, immigration, possible natural and human-caused disasters, unusual weather patterns, and “socialistic agitation and trouble to the government,” according to Raphael’s Mundane Astrology.

Dominant Saturn and Sun Energy Throughout the Year

Saturn will have an especially strong impact in the United States this year. Saturn will be the King of the Year since it is the lord of the day (Saturday) when the New Moon in Pisces occurs in the United States. Saturn as the Lord of the Year has previously been associated with poor rainfall, corruption and crime, fires, and discontentment among some groups of the people. In my opinion, the fact that Saturn is entering the New Moon/eclipse axis five hours after the eclipse is a good sign of many positive changes ahead, which I have discussed in my previous article about Saturn’s Transit in Pisces.

The Sun will be the Prime Minister of the Year, also known as Mantri. The Prime Minister of the Year is the planet that rules the day when the Sun enters Aries (Mesha Sankranti). This event will occur on April 13 this year, which is a Sunday (the Sun’s day of the week). This is the chart for the Sun’s Aries ingress in the United States (Washington, DC).

The Mantri helps to oversee government and societal matters and works under the pleasure of the King. When the Sun is the Mantri of the year, this also suggests similar issues that we see with Saturn as the King. The Sun and Saturn are enemies, and in their lower expression, their partnership may suggest some conflict and rebellion (power struggles). Yet, they can work together harmoniously when manifesting through their higher expression, in which case they represent a reality check and the need for a highly disciplined and focused approach to problem solving and long-term goals.

Navaratri: A Reason for Hope at the Beginning of the Vedic New Year

Vasant (or Chaitra) Navaratri always begins with the Vedic Lunar New Year. This is the nine-night spring festival of Devi Durga, who is worshiped as the deity of power, energy, and wisdom. She comes to bless and cleanse the world and all her devotees at this important turning point, to help us set off on the right foot as we begin the year anew.

Navaratri is a very auspicious period and time of growth and transformation for those who observe it. Navaratri celebrations will begin on March 29 in North and South America, and on March 30 elsewhere in the world. Prayers and pujas are performed to help remove misery and sorrow, and to bestow peace and well-being. On the ninth day (April 5 or 6 depending on your location), the celebration of Ram Navami will cap it all off. This is the precious day of Lord Ram’s birthday, which is celebrated as the victory of light over darkness, intelligence over ignorance, and good over evil.

As my analysis shows, the new year will bring great change, both beneficial and difficult. Although some of the harshness and challenging energy of the past should improve, we will need to focus on harnessing the potential that this new year brings us. Fortunately, Navaratri reminds us to celebrate the good in life and take a positive approach.

Happy New Year to all and may this new period bring you strength and happiness!

APRIL 2024

April 2024: Trends and Key Dates

Astrologer Maureen Richmond, Ph.D.

April 2024 promises a month of dramatic happenings, potent insights, and significant personal and cultural transformations. Retrograde Mercury, a total solar eclipse, a Mars-Saturn conjunction, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction, and a Mars-Neptune conjunction in late Pisces all combine to pinpoint this month as a journey into deep thought, psychic power, potent telepathic and psychic impressions, primal urges, strong motivations, and creative intensity. That so many potent astrological influences would occur in such a short period of time is unusual. The effects in the human world are certain to be accordingly out of the ordinary.

The month begins with the alterations of perspective and changes of plan which always come when Mercury turns retrograde. The communications planet turns retrograde on April 1 at 27 degrees Aries. Thus, on April 1, the changes of plan and circumstance developing since March 18 (when Mercury entered the retrograde shadow period) will begin to manifest in earnest. Action on changes of circumstance will go into gear on April 1.

[A diagram showing how retrogradation arises.]

Persons with planetary and other placements in their charts located at 16 – 27 degrees of cardinal signs will be most directly impacted by the April 2024 retrograde Mercury period. The cardinal signs are naturally inclined to bold, forceful action which serves to initiate trends and lead the way. This current retrograde Mercury period will emphasize and activate that very tendency, doing so in a way different than the ordinary, however, as a departure from the norm is the nature of the retrograde Mercury influence. As a result, all persons with prominent cardinality in their charts are prone to see interesting developments, as their talents for pioneering leadership are stimulated in a perhaps unexpected manner.

Then, the extraordinarily powerful New Moon of April 8, also a total solar eclipse, takes over. The days immediately preceding the eclipse are likely to be points of deep disconnection, detachment, fatigue, and uncertainty, as is always the case with the closing of the lunar cycle. This time, the effects of the lunar cycle are apt to be greater than ever as the alignment between Earth, Moon, and Sun begins to fall into place for the terrific impact of a New Moon which is also a total solar eclipse.

No sooner does the New Moon take place on April 8 than yet another powerful influence shapes up. Mars arrives at 15 degrees Pisces, to conjunct Saturn on April 10, blending the drive of Mars with the serious pursuits of Saturn, and thus focusing mind and will in the spiritual and psychic field of Pisces.

More is to come. In the human realm, communications get interesting on April 11 with the conjunction between the Sun and retrograde Mercury, always a point of intensity during any period of retrograde Mercury.

[Diagram showing the Sun-Mercury conjunction, as seen from Earth. In this case, Mercury is the “inferior planet,” meaning, the planet closer to the center of the solar system. In April 2024, the Sun-Mercury conjunction is like the diagram on the right in which Mercury passes in between Earth and Sun.]

Then on April 19, retrograde Mercury conjoins with Venus at 17 Aries to spice up the scene of art, human relations, and competitive aspirations.

Near the end of the month, the much awaited conjunction between expansive Jupiter and eccentric Uranus will become exact, sparking creativity, insights, and high motivation.

Moreover, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is so strong that it is sure to affect the several weeks both before and after exactitude, which takes place on April 20. Occurring only once every 14 years, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is a potent rhythmic impulse governing creativity, entrepreneurial drive, inventions, transcendence, and technological innovation. In the individual person, the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction evokes courage, the willingness to take risks, an overpowering curiosity about the higher levels of existence, and an eagerness to take on new challenges. As a result, many will experience a jolt of new life energies with the Jupiter-Uranus conjunction of late April 2024. Taking place in the money, asset, and resource oriented sign of Taurus, this Jupiter-Uranus conjunction contains plenty of power for the creation of new methods for the creation of income, financial gain, and material increase.

But that’s not all. On April 28, Mars conjoins Neptune at 29 degrees Pisces, bringing immediacy to the Pisces themes strong throughout March and April of this year. Pisces attunes consciousness to the vast, to the cosmic, to unlimited and unbounded space, even to infinity. It erases the arbitrary boundaries erected by the limited human mind and reveals the astounding world of quantum functioning, synchronicity, and the ocean of existence. This impact from Pisces is sure to dissolve many rigid structures of thought and practice which have held humanity back, setting the stage for the new inspirations of the innovative Jupiter-Uranus conjunction and allowing them to work with far less impediment.

Given that Mercury remains retrograde, however, the full details on the new programs of commerce, investment, and creativity may not be known until Mercury turns direct on April 25. Thereafter, a distinctly helpful Mars-Pluto sextile on May 3 will likely bring the emerging path into focus and operation.

Finally, Jupiter enters Gemini in late May and the game is on, as the field of gain moves from tangible and solid, fixed earth-sign Taurus to social networking and intellectual ferment under airy and mutable Gemini.

Disagreements over what constitutes beauty, grace, and manners may arise. Offensive language or conditions may appear. Taking it one step at a time will help. Patience wins. Hurt feelings get in the way. We should take it easy.

May 13……………..Clear Mercury, 27 Aries. The uncertainties in the picture since March 18 now fade out. The way ahead appears clearly outlined and evident.
