20 Cancer (Western Interpretations)
Relevant Themes for In-Group/Out-Group
Blain Bovee, Jones, Rudhyar – “Venetian gondoliers in a serenade”: Emphasis on collective harmony and emotional unity—gondoliers serenading suggest an inclusive, shared experience. This leans toward strengthening an in-group through bonding, but doesn’t inherently exclude others unless the serenade is private.

Sandbach, Lonsdale – “A young girl feeding swans”: Nurturing a select group (swans) implies care for an in-group, potentially excluding those outside her focus. The swans’ grace could symbolize an elite or favored circle.

Kozminsky – “A man gazing sadly on a city with dark clouds”: Isolation from the collective—sadness suggests exclusion or an outsider’s perspective, watching a threatened in-group (city).

Sepharial, Charubel – “A man on a mountain with staff and crown”: Elevated status implies leadership over an in-group, potentially distancing outsiders. The noble ascent could exclude those not in the inner circle.

Leinbach, Janduz – “A woman milking a cow”: Domestic nurturing sustains a close-knit group (family or community), but doesn’t overtly exclude—focus is inward, not divisive.

Muir – “A woman at a gate watching sheep”: Protective duty over a flock suggests a defined in-group, with the gate as a boundary against outsiders.

Carelli – “A hand grasping a staff”: Power and leadership could enforce in-group loyalty, risking exclusion of those who don’t submit.

Weber (inferred) – “A ship in a storm”: Crew unity against external chaos—strong in-group cohesion under pressure.

Cochrane – “A person on a cliff watching the ocean”: Solitude suggests an outsider stance, detached from group dynamics.

Matthews – “A man on a peak above storm clouds”: Elevation above others hints at exclusivity—leading an in-group, apart from the masses.

Synthesis for 20 Cancer
In-Group: Strong—serenades (Bovee, Rudhyar), nurturing (Sandbach, Leinbach), and leadership (Sepharial, Charubel) foster emotional bonds and unity within a group. The flock (Muir) and ship (Weber) reinforce this.

Out-Group: Present but subtle—Kozminsky’s sadness, Cochrane’s solitude, and Matthews’ elevation suggest an outsider’s perspective or exclusion of those not in the circle. Carelli’s dominance could widen the divide.

Cancerian Lens: Cancer’s emotional, protective nature leans toward in-group cohesion—nurturing “us” (family, community) over “them,” with some hints of isolation or elitism.

20 Taurus (Western Interpretations)
Relevant Themes for In-Group/Out-Group
Bovee, Jones, Rudhyar – “Wisps of clouds, like wings”: Fluid adaptability within stability—no strong group boundary, but a serene inclusivity. Less about division, more about shared ease.

Sandbach, Lonsdale – “A fork in the road with a blank signpost”: Choice implies potential division—choosing one path may exclude others. Mundanely, it could split a group into “us” and “them.”

Kozminsky – “A flight of white eagles”: Noble unity among the “eagles”—an elite in-group soaring above others, suggesting exclusivity.

Sepharial, Matthews – “A man swimming in a river”: Solo struggle against opposition—no clear group, but resistance could symbolize battling an out-group.

Charubel – “A beautiful white swan”: Refined solitude or an elite symbol—graceful but potentially aloof, distancing from the common.

Leinbach, Janduz – “A woman airing a blanket”: Domestic focus sustains an in-group (household), but doesn’t exclude—practical, not divisive.

Muir – “A woman holding a dove by a window”: Peaceful care for a select entity (dove)—gentle in-group focus, with the window as a soft boundary.

Carelli – “A man with a whip and reins”: Domineering power enforces in-group loyalty, explicitly excluding or subjugating outsiders.

Weber (inferred) – “A ship in a storm”: Crew unity against external forces—strong in-group cohesion, defining “us” versus “them.”

Cochrane – “A person on a cliff watching the ocean”: Detached observation—outside group dynamics, neither in nor out.

Bardon (inferred): Earthy intuition—stable but not inherently group-focused.

Synthesis for 20 Taurus
In-Group: Moderate—Kozminsky’s eagles, Carelli’s dominance, and Weber’s ship suggest a defined “us,” rooted in stability or power. Leinbach and Janduz’s domesticity imply a smaller, practical in-group.

Out-Group: Stronger—Sandbach/Lonsdale’s fork hints at division, Carelli’s whip enforces exclusion, and Kozminsky’s eagles elevate above others. Charubel’s swan adds an aloof elitism.

Taurean Lens: Taurus’ earthy, possessive nature leans toward securing “ours” (resources, comfort) and distinguishing from “theirs,” with less emotional bonding than Cancer.

Vedic Astrology Comparison
20 Cancer Sidereal (19°00’ to 19°59’ Cancer)
Nakshatra: Ashlesha (16°40’ to 29°59’ Cancer), second pada (Virgo navamsa).

Interpretation: Coiled snake—cunning and protective. Ashlesha’s tribal, clannish energy strongly favors the in-group (family, allies) with suspicion toward outsiders, often manipulative to maintain control.

In-Group/Out-Group: Heavy emphasis on “us” versus “them”—loyalty within, wariness without.

20 Taurus Sidereal (19°00’ to 19°59’ Taurus)
Nakshatra: Rohini (10°00’ to 23°20’ Taurus), fourth pada (Leo navamsa).

Interpretation: Fertile chariot—creative and sensual. Rohini focuses on growth and beauty within a stable circle, less about exclusion, more about cultivating “ours” with pride.

In-Group/Out-Group: In-group focus on prosperity, but less overtly divisive—open to allies who share the bounty.

Analysis: Which Degree Ties More to In-Group/Out-Group Issues?
Western Perspective
20 Cancer:
Strengths: Emotional unity (serenade, swans, cow) and leadership (staff, crown) create a strong in-group identity. Protective imagery (Muir’s gate, Weber’s ship) reinforces “us.”

Weaknesses: Out-group themes are subtler—Kozminsky’s sadness and Cochrane’s solitude suggest exclusion, but it’s less explicit than dominance or division.

Fit: Cancer’s lunar, tribal nature naturally fosters in-group bonding, with some outsider tension (Carelli’s power, Matthews’ peak).

20 Taurus:
Strengths: Division emerges in Sandbach/Lonsdale’s fork (choice splits), Carelli’s whip (enforces “us” over “them”), and Kozminsky’s eagles (elite above others). Weber’s ship adds in-group resilience against external “others.”

Weaknesses: Softer symbols (clouds, swan, blanket) focus on stability, not exclusion—less emotional tribalism.

Fit: Taurus’ Venusian possessiveness defines “ours” (resources, status) more starkly against “theirs,” amplifying out-group distinction.
-------------------------------------------

Vedic Perspective
20 Cancer (Ashlesha): Intense in-group loyalty—serpentine protection of the clan, with cunning exclusion of outsiders. Stronger tribal divide.

20 Taurus (Rohini): In-group prosperity—creative stability within a circle, less focused on excluding others unless they threaten the bounty.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Conclusion
Western: 20 Taurus edges out as more tied to in-group/out-group issues. Carelli’s domineering whip, Sandbach/Lonsdale’s divisive fork, and Kozminsky’s elite eagles explicitly suggest exclusion or splitting, while 20 Cancer leans toward inclusive nurturing (serenade, swans) with subtler outsider hints (solitude, sadness). Taurus’ material focus sharpens the “us vs. them” line.

Vedic: 20 Cancer (Ashlesha) dominates—its clannish, protective snake outstrips Rohini’s gentler in-group growth in tribal intensity.

Overall: If prioritizing Western degree theory, 20 Taurus aligns more with in-group/out-group dynamics due to its explicit division and dominance themes. If factoring Vedic, 20 Cancer takes the lead with Ashlesha’s fierce tribalism. Given your focus on Western astrologers, 20 Taurus is the stronger match.
earch of previous Rahu solar eclipses occurring in Pisces (at the Vedic Lunar New Year), I noticed a trend of unprecedented events. These kinds of events may include terrorist attacks, mass casualties and disasters (especially involving floods, drowning, ships, waterways, planes, and oceans), political upheaval and assassinations (or assassination attempts), rebellions and riots, militarization and wars, and financial crises. These events may occur within a time range of six months before or after the solar eclipse.

I looked back to the last time we had a similar eclipse including Neptune, Saturn, Sun, Moon, Venus, and Rahu in Pisces, and it was in 53 AD (note that Mercury was not involved in that eclipse as it is now).

In 53 AD, the apostle Paul set out on his third mission to spread the Christian message. He traveled for about six years from Antioch (near present day Syria) through the areas that are now Türkiye, Greece, Lebanon, and Israel. Around the same time, the apostle Thomas traveled to the Malabar Coast of India to what is now modern-day Kerala, to spread the gospel of Christianity. So it seems there may be a spiritual resurgence in the world related to this current eclipse, as well.

Entering the Vishwavasu Year - A Year of Faith and Confidence

In addition to the influence of the partial eclipse, the current lunar cycle will impact us during the new year. The classic text known as Brihat Samhita by Sage Varahamihira states that there are 60 samvatsaras or lunar years that continue to cycle throughout time. These 60 years are organized into 12 groups of five. The current group of five years spans from 2022-2027, and the upcoming fourth year within this group of five is known as Vishwavasu Nama Samvatsara. This is the 39th of 60 samvatsaras. It will be in place from March 29, 2025 until March 19, 2026.

Each samvatsara has a particular essence that correlates with its Sanskrit name. Last year was a Krodhi year. The name translates as “angry and wrathful.” The Krodhi year is thus associated with aggression and violence, as well as lust, deceit, self-righteousness, arrogance, and greed.

As stated above, the new year will be a Vishwavasu Year. This year is said to bring some improvements after the difficult Krodhi year. It will not be perfect by any means, because we live within the realm of duality where we always have to face many conflicts and challenges.

Yet, the Vishwavasu Year refers to a year when we have the ability to be inspired with tremendous faith and confidence, and when there will be less anger and hatred than in the previous year. Jataka Parijata describes one born in this year as having a good sense of humor and being of high honor and rich in moral worth, and this can be translated to what we may all aspire to in the year itself.

Vedic Lunar New Year Chart - A Snapshot of the Next Twelve Months

Now that we have discussed the eclipse and lunar cycle, let’s take a look at the chart for the new year ahead. Different parts of the world will have their own Vedic Lunar New Year horoscopes based on their unique coordinates and time zones which change from place to place. Though the planets will be in the same signs, they will move into other houses as we transfer from one location to another. For my clients who live in different parts of the world, I often discuss the specific New Year chart for their particular regions. However, for my purposes here, I only have time to review the chart for the United States.

Schedule a Consultation with Juliana

The Vedic Lunar New Year chart for each country is calculated when the New Moon occurs in Pisces, as seen from the location of the country’s capital. For instance, we use Washington, D.C. for the United States, where the New Moon will occur on March 29, 2025 at 6:57:46 AM. This occurs right before sunrise, so the Vedic New Year will begin on this day.

The New Moon/eclipse will occur in the First House in an intense and complicated Pisces stellium which gives mixed results. As mentioned before in this article and others, this stellium suggests that we are living in unprecedented times, both good and bad.

The Pisces New Moon/eclipse in the First House points to many important changes in the nation, much activity, and some great benefits to the nation’s citizens at large. The New Moon is conjoined two benefic planets Mercury and Venus. They are both retrograde, indicating that a little extra effort and time will be needed for their good fortune to manifest.

The mutual reception between Venus in Pisces and Jupiter in Taurus also suggests mixed results, including some prosperity and improvement in the affairs of the government and people, but also various threats and challenges that can make it difficult to deliver certain promised and desired results. These threats and challenges are further signified by the conjunction of Rahu, Saturn, and Neptune which I have discussed at length in several of my recent articles.

Additionally, the New Moon/eclipse in Pisces will occupy the fourth house of the United States Kelleher birth chart, as it also did last year. This emphasizes the potential new developments in transportation matters, infrastructure, land, real estate, agriculture, mines, minerals, immigration, possible natural and human-caused disasters, unusual weather patterns, and “socialistic agitation and trouble to the government,” according to Raphael’s Mundane Astrology.

Dominant Saturn and Sun Energy Throughout the Year

Saturn will have an especially strong impact in the United States this year. Saturn will be the King of the Year since it is the lord of the day (Saturday) when the New Moon in Pisces occurs in the United States. Saturn as the Lord of the Year has previously been associated with poor rainfall, corruption and crime, fires, and discontentment among some groups of the people. In my opinion, the fact that Saturn is entering the New Moon/eclipse axis five hours after the eclipse is a good sign of many positive changes ahead, which I have discussed in my previous article about Saturn’s Transit in Pisces.

The Sun will be the Prime Minister of the Year, also known as Mantri. The Prime Minister of the Year is the planet that rules the day when the Sun enters Aries (Mesha Sankranti). This event will occur on April 13 this year, which is a Sunday (the Sun’s day of the week). This is the chart for the Sun’s Aries ingress in the United States (Washington, DC).

The Mantri helps to oversee government and societal matters and works under the pleasure of the King. When the Sun is the Mantri of the year, this also suggests similar issues that we see with Saturn as the King. The Sun and Saturn are enemies, and in their lower expression, their partnership may suggest some conflict and rebellion (power struggles). Yet, they can work together harmoniously when manifesting through their higher expression, in which case they represent a reality check and the need for a highly disciplined and focused approach to problem solving and long-term goals.

Navaratri: A Reason for Hope at the Beginning of the Vedic New Year

Vasant (or Chaitra) Navaratri always begins with the Vedic Lunar New Year. This is the nine-night spring festival of Devi Durga, who is worshiped as the deity of power, energy, and wisdom. She comes to bless and cleanse the world and all her devotees at this important turning point, to help us set off on the right foot as we begin the year anew.

Navaratri is a very auspicious period and time of growth and transformation for those who observe it. Navaratri celebrations will begin on March 29 in North and South America, and on March 30 elsewhere in the world. Prayers and pujas are performed to help remove misery and sorrow, and to bestow peace and well-being. On the ninth day (April 5 or 6 depending on your location), the celebration of Ram Navami will cap it all off. This is the precious day of Lord Ram’s birthday, which is celebrated as the victory of light over darkness, intelligence over ignorance, and good over evil.

As my analysis shows, the new year will bring great change, both beneficial and difficult. Although some of the harshness and challenging energy of the past should improve, we will need to focus on harnessing the potential that this new year brings us. Fortunately, Navaratri reminds us to celebrate the good in life and take a positive approach.

Happy New Year to all and may this new period bring you strength and happiness!

23 Taurus

Mar. 2nd, 2025 12:26 pm
Charubel, the pseudonym of Welsh mystic and astrologer John Thomas (1826–1908), provided a set of symbolic interpretations for each of the 360 degrees of the zodiac in his work The Degrees of the Zodiac Symbolized, first published in 1893. Charubel’s symbol and interpretation are as follows:

Symbol: "A smelting furnace."
Interpretation: "A large-hearted person, but at the same time particularly sensitive to an imposition or a fraud. Such transactions rarely escape being detected. Soul force is great; whilst the intellectual powers may be but of moderate capacity."

Di's Wedding Sunrise chart - Chiron on 11th cusp

Explanation
"A smelting furnace": This image evokes a process of intense transformation—raw material being melted down and purified under heat. In Taurus, an earth sign ruled by Venus, it suggests a grounded, practical energy being refined or tested, possibly tied to material or emotional resilience.

"A large-hearted person": Taurus is known for its generosity and loyalty, and this reflects a warm, magnanimous nature—someone who gives freely from a place of strength.

"Particularly sensitive to an imposition or a fraud": Despite the big heart, there’s a keen awareness here. Taurus values security and stability, so this degree highlights a protective instinct against being deceived or exploited.

"Such transactions rarely escape being detected": This suggests an almost intuitive knack for spotting dishonesty—a quiet but powerful discernment, perhaps rooted in Taurus’s sensory attunement.

"Soul force is great; whilst the intellectual powers may be but of moderate capacity": The emphasis is on inner strength and emotional depth over sharp intellect. This aligns with Taurus’s focus on feeling and being rather than overanalyzing.

Context in Taurus
At 23 Taurus, we’re deep into the sign’s fixed, earthy nature—past the initial spark (0°) and the midpoint (15°), approaching a culmination of Taurean themes like endurance, value, and sensual wisdom. Charubel’s take frames this degree as a blend of generosity and vigilance, with a soul-driven rather than mind-driven approach.

This interpretation is drawn from Charubel’s original work, often cited in astrological texts like those preserved by groups such as the RASA School of Astrology. It’s less poetic than some modern systems (e.g., Sabian Symbols, where Taurus 23 is “A jewelry shop filled with magnificent jewels”), but it’s practical and character-focused, typical of Charubel’s style. Does this spark any specific thoughts or questions for you?

----------------------------------------------

For example, for 23 Taurus, he “saw” a smelting furnace, which he then interpreted as reflecting specific human qualities. This suggests a meditative or trance-like state guided his work.

One Symbol per Degree:
Unlike some systems that assign multiple layers of meaning, Charubel gave each degree (0° to 29° of every sign) a single, concise image—usually an object, scene, or action (e.g., “A smelting furnace,” “A dark pool of water”). This simplicity reflects his aim to distill a degree’s essence into one vivid snapshot.

Interpretation from the Symbol:
After receiving the image, Charubel provided a brief explanation tying it to character traits, life tendencies, or spiritual lessons. These interpretations often feel like moral or psychological sketches—practical yet tinged with a mystic’s perspective. He didn’t elaborate extensively; the symbol carried the weight, and the meaning was meant to resonate intuitively.

For 23 Taurus, the furnace led to “a large-hearted person” sensitive to fraud, suggesting he saw the smelting process as a metaphor for refining generosity with discernment.

================================================================

Charubel: 23 Taurus
Symbol: "A smelting furnace."

Interpretation: "A large-hearted person, but at the same time particularly sensitive to an imposition or a fraud. Such transactions rarely escape being detected. Soul force is great; whilst the intellectual powers may be but of moderate capacity."

Vibe: Charubel’s take is earthy and practical (a furnace refining metal), with a focus on character—generosity tempered by vigilance. Taurus’s stability shines through, but the emphasis is on inner strength over intellect, with a mystical “soul force” nod.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sabian Symbols: 23 Taurus
Symbol: "A jewelry shop filled with the most magnificent jewels." (Developed by Marc Edmund Jones and Elsie Wheeler in 1925.)

Interpretation: Often seen as abundance, beauty, and the appreciation of value—both material and inner worth. It’s about displaying treasures, attracting admiration, and recognizing what’s precious in life.

Vibe: This is peak Taurus—luxury, sensuality, and tangible wealth. The Sabian focus is more external and celebratory than Charubel’s introspective furnace. It leans into Venusian themes of aesthetics and prosperity, suggesting a moment of showcasing rather than refining.

Comparison: Where Charubel sees a process (smelting), the Sabian sees a result (jewels). Both tie to Taurus’s material focus, but Charubel’s is gritty and soul-driven, while the Sabian is polished and social.

ATTRACTING ADMIRATION - ATTRACT CAMERA LENSES & EYES OF PUBLIC, and recognizing what’s precious in life.

==============================================================================

Sepharial: 23 Taurus
Symbol: "A king granting an audience." (From Sepharial’s The Degrees of the Zodiac, published alongside Charubel’s in 1893.)

Interpretation: "Denotes one who will occupy some position of note and be sought after on account of his superior knowledge or attainments. Fortune will raise him to a position above his present sphere."

Vibe: Sepharial, a more predictive and status-oriented interpreter, frames this degree as a rise to prominence—authority and recognition. It’s less about Taurus’s earthy roots and more about social elevation, with a Jupiterian (expansive) undertone despite Taurus’s Venus rulership.

Comparison: Charubel’s humble, discerning furnace-dweller contrasts sharply with Sepharial’s regal figure. Charubel stays personal and moral; Sepharial aims for destiny and rank. Both suggest strength, but Charubel’s is internal, Sepharial’s external.

Carelli (Degrees of the Zodiac): 23 Taurus
Symbol: "A snail." (From Adriano Carelli’s The 360 Degrees of the Zodiac, 1950s, blending tradition and intuition.)

Interpretation: "A quiet industrious worker, patient and tenacious, who will build up his own fortune with his own hands. Slow but sure progress through life… He is cautious in the extreme and endowed with a remarkable power of concentration."

Vibe: Carelli’s snail is pure Taurus—slow, steady, self-reliant, and grounded. It’s less about soul or sensitivity (like Charubel) and more about persistence and practical effort, echoing Taurus’s fixed-earth endurance.

Comparison: Both Charubel and Carelli emphasize Taurus’s solidity, but the snail’s quiet diligence lacks the “large-hearted” warmth or fraud-detection of the furnace. Charubel adds a relational edge; Carelli focuses on solitary labor.

Kozminsky: 23 Taurus
Symbol: "A gaudily dressed herald blowing a trumpet, to which a little boy is dancing joyously in the roadway." (From Isidore Kozminsky’s Zodiacal Symbology and Its Planetary Power, 1917.)

Interpretation: "Denotes one of a gay and festive nature who enjoys pageantry and show… Popularity follows effort, and the native has a happy way of gaining the goodwill of the public."

Vibe: Kozminsky brings a playful, performative energy—Venusian Taurus with a splash of exuberance. The herald and dancing boy suggest public appeal and lightheartedness, a stark shift from Charubel’s serious tone.

Comparison: Charubel’s furnace is solitary and intense; Kozminsky’s scene is social and buoyant. Both hint at Taurus’s value system (refined metal vs. festive display), but Kozminsky leans into joy, while Charubel stresses discernment.

Synthesis and Themes
Taurus Core: All systems reflect Taurus’s essence—materiality, endurance, value—but in different shades:
Charubel: Inner refinement and moral sensitivity.

Sabian: Outer beauty and abundance.

Sepharial: Social authority and ascent.

Carelli: Steady, practical progress.

Kozminsky: Public charm and celebration.

Methodology Impact:
Charubel’s Vision: His clairvoyant lens gives a personal, soulful take—less flashy, more introspective.

Sabian’s Narrative: A poetic, collective snapshot, tied to a sequential story across degrees.

Sepharial’s Prediction: Fate-driven, with a focus on life’s arc rather than character.

Carelli’s Tradition: Rooted in astrology’s signs and rulerships, pragmatic and detailed.

Kozminsky’s Blend: Esoteric yet lively, mixing planetary influence with vivid imagery.

Tone: Charubel’s “smelting furnace” is the most industrial and transformative, contrasting with the Sabian’s luxury, Sepharial’s pomp, Carelli’s quiet toil, and Kozminsky’s festivity.

Which Resonates?
Charubel’s 23 Taurus feels like the blacksmith of the group—forging something enduring with heart and caution. The Sabian offers a jeweler’s display case, Sepharial a throne room, Carelli a snail’s trail, and Kozminsky a street party. If you’re drawn to Taurus’s deeper, less glamorous side, Charubel might hit home; if you prefer its Venusian glow, the Sabian or Kozminsky could appeal more.
Does one of these jump out at you for a specific reason—like a chart placement or personal vibe? I can dig deeper into any of them if you’d like!

John Sandbach: Chandra and Omega Symbols for 23 Taurus
Sandbach channeled two key sets of degree symbols: the Chandra Symbols (1983) and the Omega Symbols (2005). Each offers a different lens on 23 Taurus.
Chandra Symbol: "A dried up stream bed with one small spring at its head."
Interpretation (from Sandbach): This symbol speaks to resilience amid scarcity. The dried-up stream bed suggests a loss of flow—perhaps creativity, resources, or emotional vitality—yet the small spring signifies a persistent, life-giving spark. Sandbach might describe this as a degree of quiet endurance, where one taps into a subtle but vital source of renewal despite barren conditions. It’s about finding the “one thing” that still works and nurturing it.

Vibe: Practical yet mystical, it reflects Taurus’s earthy tenacity with a hint of hidden potential. The focus is on survival and the power of minimalism.

Omega Symbol: "Inside a tornado, a spiral staircase."
Interpretation (from Sandbach’s blog): "Receiving/Receptive (Degree Angel: Mebahiah (me-BA-hee-YAH) Thought Into Action, Intellectual Lucidity). You have the ability to maintain poise and clear thinking even in the most confusing, chaotic and upsetting situations. This stems from a central clarity and solidness that you carry with you and that can keep you stabilized—if you tune in to it—no matter what is going on around you."

Expanded Meaning: The spiral staircase within a tornado is a striking image of inner calm amid external upheaval. Sandbach ties this to Taurus’s stability, suggesting a core strength that lets you ascend (or descend) through chaos with purpose. It’s less about resisting the storm and more about navigating it with grace.

Vibe: Dynamic and stabilizing, it’s Taurus as a grounded anchor in a swirling world, with a receptive quality that listens and adapts.

Sandbach’s Approach:
Sandbach’s symbols are concrete and imaginative, channeled from spirit guides (Chandra) or intuitive downloads (Omega). He avoids overintellectualizing, encouraging users to meditate on the image and feel its energy. For 23 Taurus, both symbols highlight endurance—whether through a faint spring or a steady staircase—rooted in Taurus’s fixed-earth nature.
Ellias Lonsdale: Chandra Symbol Interpretation for 23 Taurus
Lonsdale, in Inside Degrees (1997), builds on Sandbach’s Chandra Symbols, adding a poetic, evolutionary spin. He worked with Sandbach’s originals, refining them through his own visionary lens.
Chandra Symbol: "A salamander glowing red-orange." (Note: Lonsdale adapts Sandbach’s original symbols, and this is his version for 23 Taurus.)
Interpretation (from Inside Degrees): "Burning up with the inner flame of creative activity in the soul realms. The inner life raging with power—an insistent force. A level of attunement to the central flame of your being that will not quit. The impassioned desire to manifest perfectly what lives inside. The alchemical intention to burn away the dross and return to pristine selfhood at long last. An extremely sharply motivated path of development. Difficult to harness, yet the mastery called for is just what you seek to embody, and anything more reasonable seems easy and lazy. One-pointed drive to strip away all but self and be true to self in a fashion which will burn a hole in the world."

Vibe: Lonsdale transforms the salamander into a fiery, transformative creature—a symbol of Taurus’s slow burn turned into a blazing, alchemical force. It’s less about physical endurance (like Sandbach’s stream or staircase) and more about an intense inner purification, a soul-driven quest to refine and express the authentic self.

Taurus Twist: While Taurus is typically steady and sensual, Lonsdale sees 23 Taurus as a point of passionate intensity—still rooted in the sign’s persistence but channeled into a near-obsessive creative or spiritual fire.

Lonsdale’s Approach:
Lonsdale’s method is intuitive and soul-focused, aiming to pierce the veil of mundane reality. He takes Sandbach’s Chandra base and amplifies it with a cosmic, almost shamanic narrative. For 23 Taurus, he emphasizes transformation over stability, seeing the degree as a crucible where the self is forged anew.
Comparison
Imagery:
Sandbach (Chandra): "A dried up stream bed with one small spring" is quiet, minimal, and survival-oriented—classic Taurus resilience.

Sandbach (Omega): "Inside a tornado, a spiral staircase" adds motion and structure, blending chaos with calm—a more dynamic Taurus.

Lonsdale (Chandra): "A salamander glowing red-orange" ignites the degree with heat and vitality, pushing Taurus into a fiery, alchemical realm.

Tone:
Sandbach’s Chandra is understated, practical, and reflective; his Omega is poised and stabilizing.

Lonsdale’s take is intense, poetic, and evolutionary—less about Taurus’s comfort zone and more about its potential for radical self-realization.

Focus:
Sandbach emphasizes endurance and inner resourcefulness (spring, staircase).

Lonsdale focuses on creative fire and soul purification (salamander).

Taurus 23 in Context
At 23 Taurus, we’re in the late decan of the sign (ruled by Capricorn in the Chaldean system), where Taurus’s earthy pleasures meet a more disciplined, goal-oriented edge. Charubel’s “smelting furnace” (from your earlier question) aligns with Sandbach’s Chandra (refinement) and Lonsdale’s salamander (alchemy), suggesting a theme of transformation through effort. Sandbach’s Omega staircase adds a unique spin—stability amid chaos—while Lonsdale’s fiery vision pushes the degree into a transcendent space.
What They Say, Summarized
Sandbach: 23 Taurus is about holding steady—whether through a trickle of life in a dry place (Chandra) or a calm center in a storm (Omega). It’s Taurus as a quiet, enduring force.

Lonsdale: 23 Taurus is a burning, soul-driven push to refine and express the true self—an intense, creative flame within Taurus’s earthy shell.

VEDIC ASTROLOGY

Vedic Adjustment: 23 Taurus Tropical = ~29 Aries Sidereal
Ayanamsa: The exact offset depends on the ayanamsa used (e.g., Lahiri, the most common, is ~24°06’ as of 2025). For simplicity, 22° Taurus tropical shifts back to approximately 28°–29° Aries sidereal.

Sign Shift: In Vedic, we’re no longer in Taurus (sidereal 0°–30° Taurus is ~24° Taurus–24° Gemini tropical). Instead, 29 Aries sidereal falls in the fiery, Mars-ruled sign of Aries, a stark contrast to Taurus’s earthy, Venusian nature in Western astrology.

Vedic Framework for 29 Aries Sidereal
Nakshatra: Krittika (26°40’ Aries – 10°00’ Taurus Sidereal)
Ruling Planet: Sun (exalted in Aries, adding potency).

Symbol: Razor, knife, or flame—sharpness and cutting through.

Deity: Agni (fire god), tied to purification, transformation, and willpower.

Qualities: Krittika is a “mixed” nakshatra (sharp yet soft), blending aggression with refinement. At 29 Aries, it’s in the 3rd pada (quarter), ruled by Gemini (Mercury), emphasizing intellect, communication, and duality within Aries’s boldness.

Meaning: Determination, critical perception, and the ability to burn away impurities. It’s fiery, assertive, and goal-driven, with a knack for discernment (Gemini influence).

Drekkana: 3rd Decan of Aries (20°–30° Aries Sidereal)
Ruler: Jupiter (in the Vedic drekkana system).

Tone: Expansive, philosophical, and optimistic, tempering Aries’s raw energy with wisdom and vision.

Vibe: A mature Aries—less impulsive, more strategic, aiming for growth.

Degree Context:
29 Aries is the final degree of the sign (an anaretic or “critical” degree in some traditions), suggesting urgency, completion, or a transition into Taurus’s stability. It’s a threshold point, charged with Aries’s pioneering spirit.

Sandbach: 23 Taurus Tropical
Chandra Symbol: "A dried up stream bed with one small spring at its head."
Resilience, quiet persistence, a minimal but vital spark—classic Taurus endurance.

Omega Symbol: "Inside a tornado, a spiral staircase."
Inner calm amid chaos, stability in upheaval—a Taurus anchor with dynamic poise.

Comparison with Vedic 29 Aries:
Similarities:
Resilience: The Chandra’s small spring echoes Krittika’s ability to sustain effort (fire keeps burning). Both suggest a core strength in tough conditions.

Transformation: The Omega’s tornado aligns with Krittika’s fiery, cutting nature—both handle chaos, though Vedic Aries confronts it head-on, while Taurus stabilizes it.

Differences:
Energy: Sandbach’s Taurus is slow, earthy, and receptive; Vedic 29 Aries is fast, fiery, and assertive. The spring and staircase are passive-active, while Krittika’s flame is pure action.

Focus: Sandbach emphasizes inner resourcefulness; Vedic Aries focuses on outward drive and purification (Agni’s influence).

Lonsdale: 23 Taurus Tropical
Chandra Symbol: "A salamander glowing red-orange."

Interpretation: "Burning up with the inner flame of creative activity… The alchemical intention to burn away the dross and return to pristine selfhood… One-pointed drive."

Vibe: Intense, transformative fire within Taurus’s earthy shell—a soul-driven purification.

Comparison with Vedic 29 Aries:
Similarities:
Fire and Transformation: Lonsdale’s salamander (a fire-dwelling creature) mirrors Krittika’s flame and Agni’s purifying role. Both see this degree as a crucible—burning away impurities for clarity or selfhood.

Intensity: The “one-pointed drive” resonates with Aries’s Mars-ruled focus and Krittika’s sharp determination. Both are relentless in their pursuit.

Creativity: Lonsdale’s “creative activity” aligns with Krittika’s 3rd pada (Gemini), where intellect and expression refine Aries’s raw energy.

Differences:
Tone: Lonsdale’s fire is soulful and internal, rooted in Taurus’s depth; Vedic 29 Aries is external, bold, and action-oriented—more warrior than alchemist.

Pace: Taurus slows the burn for reflection; Aries accelerates it for conquest.

Context: Lonsdale’s “pristine selfhood” is personal and mystical; Krittika’s purification serves a broader, cosmic will (Sun and Agni).
Since Jupiter Dasha began for him around March 2025 (based on standard Vimshottari calculations from his Moon in Taurus, Krittika Nakshatra), I’ll project its influence starting from now, February 27, 2025, as we approach that shift.
Prince Harry’s Vedic Chart Basics
Birth Details: September 15, 1984, 4:20 PM, London, UK.
Ascendant (Lagna): Sagittarius (commonly cited, with Jupiter in Sagittarius in the 1st house forming Hamsa Yoga—a Mahapurusha Yoga indicating nobility and luck).
Moon Sign: Taurus, Krittika Nakshatra (ruled by Sun), placing him in a Vimshottari Dasha sequence starting with Sun, transitioning through other planets, and reaching Jupiter around age 40 (2025).
Sun Sign: Virgo (Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra).
Key Placements (Approximate):
Jupiter in Sagittarius (1st house, strong).
Sun and Mercury in Virgo (9th house, forming Budha-Aditya Yoga).
Mars in Scorpio or Sagittarius (11th or 12th house, possibly with Ketu).
Venus debilitated in Virgo (9th house).
Saturn in Scorpio (11th house).
Rahu in Taurus (6th house), Ketu in Scorpio (12th house).
These placements are inferred from public analyses (e.g., Vedic Mystics, AstroSage) and may vary slightly with precise birth time adjustments, but they align with his life events and personality.
Jupiter Dasha Overview

Duration: 16 years (March 2025 to March 2041 for Prince Harry, assuming Rahu Dasha ends around age 40).
Nature: Jupiter is a natural benefic, ruling wisdom, expansion, spirituality, and prosperity. In Harry’s chart it’s exceptionally strong as the Lagna lord in its own sign (Sagittarius), forming Hamsa Yoga.
General Effects: Growth, optimism, and opportunities, tempered by Jupiter’s house rulership (1st and 4th for RY 2025Sagittarius Lagna) and its aspects (5th, 7th, 9th houses).
Effects on Prince Harry’s Chart
Given Jupiter’s placement and rulership in his chart, here’s how its Dasha might unfold:
1. Personal Identity and Confidence (1st House)
Jupiter in 1st (Sagittarius): As Lagna lord in its own sign, Jupiter Dasha activates Harry’s core self—his identity, vitality, and public persona. This period could mark a rebirth of confidence and purpose after the turbulence of Rahu Dasha (2007–2025), which brought marriage, relocation, and royal exit (Rahu in 6th: upheaval, foreign ties).
Effect: He may reclaim a sense of authenticity, aligning with Sagittarius’ truth-seeking nature. Expect a more philosophical Harry—less reactive, more grounded—potentially softening his rebellious streak into a mature, statesman-like role.
Life Event: Public appearances or projects reflecting wisdom or humanitarianism (e.g., expanding Invictus Games).
2. Home and Emotional Stability (4th House)
Jupiter Rules 4th: For Sagittarius Lagna, Jupiter governs the 4th house (home, mother, inner peace). Its strength suggests a period of settling down emotionally and physically after years of flux.
Effect: Harry might deepen roots in California or reconcile aspects of his past (e.g., with the royal family). The 4th house link to his late mother, Diana, could inspire legacy projects—perhaps a memoir reflection or charity in her name.
Life Event: Property investments, family expansion (e.g., a third child), or mending familial ties (e.g., with King Charles).
3. Relationships and Partnerships (7th House Aspect)
Jupiter Aspects 7th: From the 1st, Jupiter aspects the 7th house (marriage, partnerships), where Venus (debilitated in Virgo) and Saturn’s influence (from Scorpio) suggest past marital strain or unconventional bonds (Meghan).
Effect: Jupiter’s benefic gaze could stabilize his marriage, countering Rahu Dasha’s chaos (2016–2025, when he met and married Meghan). However, if Venus is afflicted, minor tensions might persist, though Jupiter’s grace often resolves such issues.
Life Event: Renewed harmony with Meghan or joint ventures gaining prominence (e.g., media or philanthropy).
4. Creativity and Children (5th House Aspect)
Jupiter Aspects 5th: The 5th house (children, creativity) is likely Aries or Taurus in his chart, influenced by Mars or Venus. Jupiter’s aspect here boosts these areas.
Effect: A creative peak—think books, documentaries (post-Spare), or advocacy. His children (Archie, Lilibet) may come into focus, with Harry emphasizing their upbringing or public roles.
Life Event: Archie’s milestones (schooling, public debut) or a new creative project succeeding globally.
5. Luck and Higher Purpose (9th House Aspect)
Jupiter Aspects 9th: The 9th house (Leo, with Sun and Mercury) is already strong (Budha-Aditya Yoga: intellect, fame). Jupiter’s aspect doubles this fortune.
Effect: A golden period for recognition, travel, or spiritual exploration. Harry might embrace a global role—philosopher, advocate, or bridge between cultures (UK-US ties).
Life Event: International acclaim for humanitarian work or a return to royal-adjacent duties under Jupiter’s ethical push.
6. Career and Public Life (10th House Connection)
10th House (Virgo): Ruled by Mercury, with Sun and debilitated Venus, Harry’s career has been intellectual yet unconventional. Jupiter’s 9th-house aspect indirectly supports the 10th via Dharma-Karmadhipati Yoga (Sun-Mercury).
Effect: Jupiter Dasha elevates his status—less controversy, more respect. Media ventures (Netflix, books) may mature into lasting legacies.
Life Event: A shift from tabloid fodder to respected figure, possibly aiding Prince William later.
7. Challenges to Watch
Saturn in 11th (Scorpio): Aspects Jupiter, tempering its optimism with realism or delays. Friendships or finances might face scrutiny.
Ketu in 12th (Scorpio): With Mars, this suggests past-life baggage or losses. Jupiter Dasha might mitigate but not erase these undercurrents.
Venus Debilitation: In the 9th, it could limit some material gains unless offset by Jupiter’s strength.
Timeline Within Jupiter Dasha (2025–2041)
Jupiter-Jupiter (2025–2027): A strong start—peak optimism, personal growth, and public goodwill.
Jupiter-Saturn (2027–2030): Realism sets in; career or family duties test his patience, but rewards follow.
Jupiter-Mercury (2030–2033): Intellectual pursuits shine—writing, speaking, or media flourish.
Jupiter-Ketu (2033–2034): Spiritual introspection; possible retreat or detachment phase.
Jupiter-Venus (2034–2037): Harmony in relationships and creativity; material gains possible.
Later Sub-Periods (Sun, Moon, Mars): Vary based on their placements but generally support Jupiter’s benefic tone.
Specific Impact on Harry’s Life
Post-Rahu Dasha (2007–2025): Rahu in 6th brought struggles (royal exit, lawsuits) and foreign ties (US move). Jupiter shifts this to growth and resolution.
Public Role: From rebel to sage—Jupiter’s dignity could see him supporting William or King Charles III, especially post-2030.
Marriage: Stability with Meghan likely strengthens, countering earlier predictions of strain (e.g., Vedic Mystics’ divorce speculation).
Legacy: Jupiter Dasha positions Harry as a global figure—less drama, more purpose—by 2041.
Final Thoughts
Prince Harry’s Jupiter Dasha, starting March 2025, promises a transformative 16 years. With Jupiter in Sagittarius (1st house), it’s a homecoming to his chart’s core strength—nobility, wisdom, and luck. Unlike the chaotic Rahu-Mars Dasha (intense, conflict-driven), Jupiter-Jupiter offers a smoother, expansive ride, aligning his life with higher ideals. Exact effects depend on his full chart, but this period could redefine him from royal outcast to respected elder—assuming he navigates Saturn’s sobriety and Ketu’s detachment wisely. how many types of chart are used in vedic or jyotish astrology
In Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish, several types of charts are used to analyze different aspects of a person’s life based on planetary positions at the time of birth. These charts, called kundalis or horoscopes, vary depending on their purpose and the way planetary data is represented. Here are the main types of charts commonly used:
Rasi Chart (D-1)
This is the primary birth chart in Vedic astrology, showing the positions of the 12 zodiac signs and planets at the time of birth. It’s the foundation for understanding personality, life events, and overall destiny.
Navamsa Chart (D-9)
Considered the most important divisional chart, it divides each zodiac sign into nine parts. It’s used to analyze marriage, partnerships, and the deeper strengths of planets, often seen as the "chart of the soul."
Hora Chart (D-2)
This chart divides each sign into two parts and focuses on wealth, finances, and material prosperity.
Drekkana Chart (D-3)
Each sign is divided into three parts. It’s used to study siblings, courage, and vitality.
Chaturthamsa Chart (D-4)
Divides each sign into four parts and is used to assess property, home, and fortune.
Saptamsa Chart (D-7)
Each sign is divided into seven parts. This chart is primarily used to analyze children, creativity, and progeny.
Dasamsa Chart (D-10)
Divides each sign into ten parts and focuses on career, profession, and achievements in the public sphere.
Dwadasamsa Chart (D-12)
Each sign is divided into twelve parts. It’s used to study parents, lineage, and ancestral influences.
Shodamsa Chart (D-16)
Divides each sign into sixteen parts and is associated with vehicles, pleasures, and comforts.
Vimsamsa Chart (D-20)
Each sign is divided into twenty parts. This chart is used to evaluate spirituality, religious inclinations, and devotion.
Chaturvimsamsa Chart (D-24)
Divides each sign into twenty-four parts. It’s used to assess education, learning, and intellectual pursuits.
Trimsamsa Chart (D-30)
Each sign is divided into thirty parts. It highlights challenges, misfortunes, and hidden weaknesses in life.
Shastiamsa Chart (D-60)
The most detailed chart, dividing each sign into sixty parts. It’s used to refine predictions and understand past-life karma and subtle influences.
Additional Notes:
These charts are part of the broader system of Vargas (divisional charts), and while the Rasi (D-1) and Navamsa (D-9) are the most widely used, others are consulted for specific predictions.
Some astrologers also use additional charts like the Bhava Chalit Chart (house-based chart) or regional variations such as the North Indian and South Indian chart styles, which differ in how they visually represent the data.
In total, there are 16 standard Vargas in Vedic astrology, though the 13 listed above are the most commonly referenced. The exact number of charts “used” can depend on the astrologer’s approach and the complexity of the reading—beginners might stick to 2-3, while advanced practitioners could analyze up to all 16 or more for a detailed interpretation.

Explain divisional charts
Divisional charts, or Vargas, in Vedic astrology (Jyotish) are a sophisticated system used to break down the 12 zodiac signs into smaller segments. These charts provide deeper insights into specific areas of life by examining the planetary positions from various angles. Think of them as magnifying glasses that zoom into different facets—like career, marriage, or spirituality—beyond what the main birth chart (Rasi, D-1) reveals. Each divisional chart is derived by dividing a zodiac sign into a specific number of parts, and planets are then placed in these divisions based on their precise degrees at the time of birth.
How Divisional Charts Work
The Rasi chart (D-1) is the foundation, showing the 12 signs and planets as they are in the sky at birth.
Each zodiac sign spans 30 degrees. In a divisional chart, this 30-degree span is split into equal parts (e.g., 2, 3, 9, 10, etc.), and each part is assigned to a specific sign based on predefined rules.
The planet’s exact degree determines which division (and thus which sign) it falls into in that chart.
This creates a new chart for each division, highlighting different life themes.
Purpose of Divisional Charts
The idea is that while the Rasi chart gives a broad overview, divisional charts refine predictions by focusing on specialized domains. They’re like sub-layers of the horoscope, revealing strengths, weaknesses, and patterns that might not be obvious in the D-1 alone. Astrologers use them to cross-check planetary potency and get a more nuanced understanding of destiny.
Key Divisional Charts and Their Divisions
Here’s a breakdown of the most commonly used divisional charts, how they’re calculated, and what they represent:
D-1 (Rasi)
Division: 1 part (30 degrees per sign).
Purpose: The main chart for overall life, personality, health, and major events.
D-2 (Hora)
Division: 2 parts (15 degrees each).
Purpose: Wealth and financial status. Odd signs assign the first half to Cancer and the second to Leo; even signs reverse it.
D-3 (Drekkana)
Division: 3 parts (10 degrees each).
Purpose: Siblings, courage, and initiative. The first 10 degrees go to the same sign, the next to the 5th sign, and the last to the 9th sign.
D-4 (Chaturthamsa)
Division: 4 parts (7.5 degrees each).
Purpose: Property, residence, and fortune. Each segment shifts to signs in a specific sequence (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th from the sign).
D-7 (Saptamsa)
Division: 7 parts (about 4.28 degrees each).
Purpose: Children and creativity. The division follows a pattern starting from the sign for odd signs, or the 7th sign for even signs.
D-9 (Navamsa)
Division: 9 parts (3.33 degrees each).
Purpose: Marriage, partnerships, and soul-level strengths. This is the most critical divisional chart after D-1, showing how planets mature over time.
D-10 (Dasamsa)
Division: 10 parts (3 degrees each).
Purpose: Career, status, and professional success. The sequence adjusts based on whether the sign is odd or even.
D-12 (Dwadasamsa)
Division: 12 parts (2.5 degrees each).
Purpose: Parents and ancestral lineage. Each part follows a regular zodiac sequence from the sign.
D-16 (Shodamsa)
Division: 16 parts (1.875 degrees each).
Purpose: Vehicles, luxuries, and happiness. The assignment of signs follows a complex pattern.
D-20 (Vimsamsa)
Division: 20 parts (1.5 degrees each).
Purpose: Spirituality and religious tendencies.
D-24 (Chaturvimsamsa)
Division: 24 parts (1.25 degrees each).
Purpose: Education, knowledge, and intellectual growth.
D-30 (Trimsamsa)
Division: 30 parts (1 degree each).
Purpose: Misfortunes, challenges, and subconscious issues. Uses a unique system based on planetary degrees and sign rulership.
D-60 (Shastiamsa)
Division: 60 parts (0.5 degrees each).
Purpose: Past-life karma and fine-tuning predictions. It’s highly detailed and sensitive to birth time accuracy.
How They’re Used in Practice
Cross-Verification: A planet strong in D-1 but weak in its relevant divisional chart (e.g., D-9 for marriage) might indicate unfulfilled potential in that area.
Timing Events: Divisional charts are paired with dashas (planetary periods) to predict when specific events might occur.
Specialization: An astrologer might focus on D-10 for career questions or D-7 for queries about children.
Why They Matter
The logic behind Vargas comes from the belief that life is multi-dimensional. A single chart can’t capture everything, so these divisions act like a prism, splitting the light of the planets into distinct colors. For example, a strong Jupiter in D-1 might suggest wisdom, but its placement in D-24 reveals how that wisdom manifests through education.
Practical Example
Suppose someone’s Sun is at 15 degrees in Virgo in their D-1:
In D-2 (Hora), 15 degrees falls in the second half (Leo), suggesting wealth through leadership.
In D-9 (Navamsa), 15 degrees is the 5th division (Capricorn), indicating a practical approach to partnerships.
In D-10 (Dasamsa), it might fall in a division showing career success tied to discipline.
Final Thoughts
There are 16 standard Vargas in total, though some astrologers use up to 20 or more for rare analyses. The beauty of divisional charts lies in their precision—requiring an accurate birth time—and their ability to uncover hidden layers of a person’s life. They’re a testament to Vedic astrology’s depth, blending mathematics, intuition, and cosmic philosophy.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

can you explain what dasha periods are and how they work
In Vedic astrology (Jyotish), Dasha periods are a system of planetary timing that dictate when certain planets will exert their strongest influence over a person’s life. The term "Dasha" means "condition" or "state" in Sanskrit, reflecting how each period shapes your experiences based on the planets involved. This system is unique because it’s predictive—it tells you not just what might happen (based on your birth chart) but when. It’s like a cosmic clock, guiding astrologers to pinpoint the timing of events, from career breakthroughs to personal challenges.
What Are Dasha Periods?
Definition: A Dasha is a time period ruled by a specific planet, during which that planet’s energy—its strengths, weaknesses, and placement in your chart—dominates your life.
Basis: The system is rooted in the Nakshatras (lunar mansions), 27 star segments along the zodiac, each ruled by a planet. Your birth Moon’s Nakshatra determines which planet’s Dasha you start with.
Duration: Each planet has a fixed number of years assigned to its Dasha, totaling 120 years (considered the full human lifespan in Vedic tradition). The sequence and starting point depend on your birth chart.
The Main Dasha System: Vimshottari Dasha
The most widely used Dasha system is Vimshottari Dasha, which spans 120 years and assigns specific durations to the nine planets (including the lunar nodes, Rahu and Ketu). Here’s the breakdown:
Sun: 6 years
Moon: 10 years
Mars: 7 years
Rahu (North Node): 18 years
Jupiter: 16 years
Saturn: 19 years
Mercury: 17 years
Ketu (South Node): 7 years
Venus: 20 years
These periods always follow this exact order, cycling through the 120-year span. However, you don’t start at the beginning of this cycle—your first Dasha depends on the Nakshatra the Moon occupies at your birth.

How Dashas Are Calculated

Starting Point: The Nakshatra of your birth Moon determines the first planet. Each Nakshatra is ruled by one of the nine planets (e.g., Ashwini is ruled by Ketu, Bharani by Venus, etc.).
Time Remaining: The Moon’s exact degree within that Nakshatra decides how much of the ruling planet’s Dasha has already passed. For example, if you’re born halfway through a Nakshatra ruled by Venus, you’d start with 10 years of Venus Dasha remaining (out of its 20-year total).
Sequence: After the first Dasha ends, it moves to the next planet in the fixed Vimshottari order, continuing through your life.

Sub-Periods: Bhukti or Antardasha
Each Dasha is subdivided into smaller periods called Bhukti or Antardasha, where another planet co-rules alongside the main Dasha planet. These sub-periods follow the same planetary sequence and vary in length proportionally. For instance:
In a 20-year Venus Dasha, the Venus-Venus Bhukti might last around 3.33 years, followed by Venus-Sun (1 year), Venus-Moon (1.67 years), and so on.
The interplay between the Dasha lord (main planet) and Bhukti lord (sub-planet) refines the timing and flavor of events.
How Dashas Work in Practice
Planetary Influence: The ruling planet’s nature (benefic like Jupiter or malefic like Saturn), its strength in your chart (exalted, debilitated, etc.), and its house/sign placement dictate the themes of that period. For example:
Jupiter Dasha might bring wisdom, growth, or education if well-placed.
Saturn Dasha could mean discipline and hard work—or delays and struggles if afflicted.
House Activation: The houses the Dasha planet rules or occupies in your Rasi (D-1) and divisional charts get activated, triggering events tied to those areas (e.g., 7th house for relationships, 10th for career).
Combinations: The Dasha lord interacts with the Bhukti lord, transits (current planet positions), and your natal chart to shape outcomes. A strong Jupiter Dasha with a weak Mercury Bhukti might mix expansion with communication challenges.
Example
Imagine someone born with the Moon in Rohini Nakshatra (ruled by Moon) at 50% completion:
They start with 5 years of Moon Dasha (half of its 10-year total).
Next comes Mars Dasha (7 years), then Rahu (18 years), and so on.
During Moon Dasha, if the Moon rules their 4th house (home), they might focus on family or property—amplified if a Moon-Jupiter Bhukti brings supportive energy.
Why Dashas Matter
Dashas are the backbone of Vedic predictive astrology because they provide a timeline. A planet might promise wealth in your chart, but if its Dasha doesn’t come until age 60, that’s when it manifests. They also explain why life feels different at different stages—each period shifts the spotlight to a new planetary player.

Other Dasha Systems
While Vimshottari is the gold standard, there are over 40 Dasha systems in Vedic astrology, used for specific purposes:
Yogini Dasha: Focuses on 36-year cycles and lunar energies.
Ashtottari Dasha: A 108-year system, used when Rahu isn’t in a key position.
Kaalachakra Dasha: Based on Nakshatra patterns, it’s more complex and karmic.
Final Thoughts
Dashas are like a script for your life’s unfolding drama, with planets taking turns as the lead actor. They blend fate (planetary placements) with timing (Dasha sequence), offering a dynamic way to interpret past, present, and future. To use them effectively, an astrologer needs an accurate birth time and a deep understanding of planetary interplay—making it both a science and an art.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explain Vimshottari Dasha
The Vimshottari Dasha system is the most widely used planetary timing method in Vedic astrology (Jyotish). It’s a predictive tool that maps out when specific planets will influence your life, based on their positions at the time of your birth. The term "Vimshottari" comes from Sanskrit, meaning "120," referring to the total duration of the cycle, which spans 120 years—the theoretical maximum human lifespan in Vedic tradition. It’s elegant, precise, and deeply tied to the lunar position, making it a cornerstone for forecasting life events like marriage, career shifts, or challenges.
Core Concept
Planetary Periods: Each of the nine planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Ketu) rules a fixed period of years. During its "Dasha," that planet takes center stage, shaping your experiences based on its nature and placement in your chart.
Lunar Basis: The system hinges on the Nakshatra (lunar mansion) occupied by the Moon at your birth. There are 27 Nakshatras, and each is ruled by one of these nine planets, determining where you start in the 120-year cycle.
Predictive Power: Vimshottari tells you not just what’s promised in your chart but when it’ll happen, by activating planets in a specific sequence.
The Planetary Durations
The total cycle of 120 years is divided among the planets as follows:
Sun: 6 years
Moon: 10 years
Mars: 7 years
Rahu (North Node): 18 years
Jupiter: 16 years
Saturn: 19 years
Mercury: 17 years
Ketu (South Node): 7 years
Venus: 20 years
These durations are fixed and always follow this exact order: Ketu → Venus → Sun → Moon → Mars → Rahu → Jupiter → Saturn → Mercury, looping back if needed. The lengths aren’t random—they’re derived from ancient Vedic calculations tied to cosmic cycles, though the precise reasoning is more traditional than astronomical.
How It’s Calculated
Starting Point: The Nakshatra of your birth Moon determines the first Dasha lord. Each Nakshatra is assigned a planet:
E.g., Ashwini, Magha, and Mula are ruled by Ketu.
Bharani, Purva Phalguni, and Purva Ashadha are ruled by Venus.
The full list spans all 27 Nakshatras across the nine planets.
Time Remaining: The Moon’s exact degree within its Nakshatra decides how much of that planet’s Dasha has already elapsed. Each Nakshatra spans 13 degrees and 20 minutes (13°20’). The proportion of the Nakshatra “completed” reduces the first Dasha’s duration proportionally.
Example: If the Moon is at 6°40’ in Rohini (ruled by Moon), it’s halfway through the Nakshatra, so you’d start with 5 years of Moon Dasha (half of its 10-year total).
Sequence: After the first Dasha ends, it moves to the next planet in the Vimshottari order, continuing through your life.
Sub-Periods: Bhukti or Antardasha
Each major Dasha (Mahadasha) is subdivided into smaller periods called Bhukti or Antardasha, where another planet co-rules. These follow the same planetary sequence and are proportional to the Mahadasha’s length:
In a 20-year Venus Mahadasha:
Venus-Venus Bhukti: ~3.33 years (20/120 × 20).
Venus-Sun Bhukti: ~1 year (20/120 × 6).
And so on, through Venus-Ketu.
The Mahadasha lord sets the overarching theme, while the Bhukti lord adds nuance or specific events.
There are even finer levels, like Pratyantardasha (sub-sub-periods), but Mahadasha and Bhukti are the most commonly analyzed.
How It Works in Practice
Planetary Influence: The Dasha lord’s nature (e.g., benefic Jupiter vs. malefic Saturn) and its condition in your chart (exalted, debilitated, house placement) dictate the period’s flavor.
Jupiter Dasha might bring growth, learning, or prosperity if strong.
Saturn Dasha could mean hard work and discipline—or delays and hardship if weak.
House Activation: The houses ruled or occupied by the Dasha planet in your Rasi (D-1) and divisional charts (like D-9 or D-10) get activated, triggering events tied to those areas.
Interactions: The Mahadasha lord interacts with the Bhukti lord, current transits, and natal placements. A strong Venus Dasha with a Mars Bhukti might blend love (Venus) with conflict (Mars), depending on their relationship in your chart.
Practical Example
Suppose your Moon is at 10° in Krittika Nakshatra (ruled by Sun):
Krittika spans 26°40’ Taurus to 10° Gemini. At 10° Taurus, you’re about 1/3 through (10° / 26°40’).
Sun’s full Dasha is 6 years, so you start with ~4 years remaining (2/3 × 6).
Next comes Moon Dasha (10 years), then Mars (7 years), and so on.
During Sun Dasha, if the Sun rules your 10th house (career), you might see early career focus—amplified if a Sun-Jupiter Bhukti adds luck.
Why It’s Significant...
what is the significance of nakshatra
In Vedic astrology (Jyotish), Nakshatras—the 27 lunar mansions—are fundamental building blocks that add depth and nuance to astrological interpretation. They’re segments of the zodiac, each spanning 13 degrees and 20 minutes (13°20’), through which the Moon travels in its monthly cycle. The word "Nakshatra" means "star" or "constellation" in Sanskrit, reflecting their celestial nature, but they’re more than just astronomical markers—they’re symbolic, psychological, and karmic keys that unlock a person’s destiny, personality, and life events.
Core Significance
Lunar Connection:
The Moon, as the mind and emotional core in Vedic astrology, moves through one Nakshatra per day (roughly 24 hours). Your birth Moon’s Nakshatra—called the Janma Nakshatra—is a snapshot of your inner self, shaping how you think, feel, and react.
It’s so pivotal that it often determines your name’s first letter in traditional Indian culture (e.g., Ashwini natives might start with "Chu" or "Che").
Foundation of Dashas:
Nakshatras are the starting point for the Vimshottari Dasha system, the primary timing method in Vedic astrology. Each Nakshatra is ruled by a planet (e.g., Ketu rules Ashwini, Venus rules Bharani), and the Moon’s position at birth decides which planet’s Dasha period you begin with. This sets the rhythm of your life’s unfolding events.
Personality and Traits:
Each Nakshatra has a unique deity, symbol, and energy that influence your character. For example:
Ashwini (ruled by Ketu): Symbolized by a horse’s head, it’s linked to speed, healing, and initiative.
Rohini (ruled by Moon): Symbolized by a cart, it’s tied to creativity, beauty, and nurturing.
These traits refine the broader zodiac sign (e.g., Aries or Taurus) the Nakshatra falls within, adding specificity.
Karmic Blueprint:
Nakshatras are believed to carry karmic imprints from past lives. Your Janma Nakshatra reflects the lessons you’re here to learn and the tendencies you bring forward, blending fate with free will.
Structure and Layers
27 Nakshatras: The zodiac (360°) is divided into 27 equal parts, starting with Ashwini at 0° Aries and ending with Revati at 29°59’ Pisces.
Padas (Quarters): Each Nakshatra is further split into four Padas (3°20’ each), aligning with the nine planets via the Navamsa (D-9) chart. This adds granularity—two people with the Moon in the same Nakshatra but different Padas might express its energy differently.
Rulership: The nine planets (Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) rule the Nakshatras in a repeating cycle, influencing their flavor.
Practical Roles in Astrology
Timing Events (Vimshottari Dasha):
The Moon’s Nakshatra at birth kicks off the Dasha sequence. For instance, if born in Pushya (ruled by Saturn), your life begins with Saturn’s 19-year Dasha, adjusted by how far the Moon has progressed through Pushya.
Compatibility (Muhurta and Marriage):
Nakshatras determine auspicious timings (Muhurta) for events like weddings or starting a business. In marriage compatibility (Kundali Milan), the couple’s Nakshatras are compared for harmony—e.g., certain pairings (like Rohini with Revati) are considered favorable, while others might indicate friction.
Planetary Strength:
A planet’s Nakshatra placement refines its behavior. Jupiter in Purva Phalguni (Venus-ruled) might emphasize luxury and relationships, while in Uttara Bhadrapada (Saturn-ruled), it leans toward discipline and spirituality.
Mythological and Symbolic Depth:
Each Nakshatra is tied to a deity and story. For example, Krittika, ruled by the Sun and linked to Agni (fire god), signifies purification and sharpness. These myths offer interpretive clues about life themes.
Examples of Nakshatra Influence
Person A: Moon in Ashlesha (Mercury-ruled, serpent symbol). They might be intuitive, secretive, and skilled in communication, with a life shaped by Mercury’s 17-year Dasha starting later.
Person B: Moon in Swati (Rahu-ruled, wind symbol). They could be restless, independent, and unconventional, starting with Rahu’s 18-year Dasha, bringing early unpredictability.
Broader Implications
Spiritual Layer: Nakshatras connect you to the cosmos, reflecting the Vedic belief that stars guide human affairs. They’re seen as divine energies influencing your soul’s journey.
Daily Life: Beyond birth charts, Nakshatras guide daily forecasts (Panchang)—e.g., avoiding major decisions on a day ruled by a malefic Nakshatra like Mula.
Cultural Impact: In India, Nakshatras influence rituals, naming conventions, and even agriculture (e.g., planting crops under favorable Nakshatras).
Why They Matter
Nakshatras are the bridge between the macro (zodiac signs) and micro (precise degrees) in Vedic astrology. They personalize the chart, making predictions more specific than Western astrology’s sun-sign focus. Without them, the Dasha system wouldn’t function, and the chart would lack its emotional and karmic depth. They’re like the heartbeat of Jyotish—subtle, rhythmic, and essential to understanding life’s ebb and flow.
==================================================================

Mythological Background
Rahu and Ketu originate from a vivid Vedic myth. During the churning of the cosmic ocean (Samudra Manthan), a demon named Svarbhanu tricked the gods to drink the nectar of immortality (Amrita). When the Sun and Moon alerted Vishnu, he severed Svarbhanu’s head with his discus. The head became Rahu, forever chasing the Sun and Moon to swallow them (causing eclipses), while the body became Ketu, a headless seeker of liberation. This story frames their roles: Rahu as the head driven by insatiable ambition, Ketu as the body seeking release from worldly ties.
Astronomical Basis
Definition: The North Node (Rahu) is where the Moon’s orbit crosses the ecliptic moving northward; the South Node (Ketu) is where it crosses southward.
Motion: They move retrograde (backward) through the zodiac, taking about 18 months to transit each sign, completing a full cycle in roughly 18 years.
Opposition: If Rahu is in Aries in your chart, Ketu will always be in Libra, balancing their energies.
Roles and Significance
Rahu: The North Node
Nature: Materialistic, obsessive, ambitious, and illusory. Rahu is the "giver of desires," amplifying cravings for wealth, power, fame, or unconventional pursuits.
Karmic Role: Represents unfinished business from past lives—what you’re drawn to achieve or experience in this one. It’s the future-oriented node, pushing you toward new territory.
House Placement: In the 10th house, Rahu might drive career obsession or public recognition; in the 7th, it could spark intense partnerships or unconventional relationships.
Sign Influence: In Gemini, Rahu might fuel intellectual curiosity or deceit; in Scorpio, it deepens transformation and secrecy.
Shadow Side: Overindulgence, confusion, or illusions (Maya), leading to chaos if unchecked.
Ketu: The South Node
Nature: Spiritual, detached, intuitive, and introspective. Ketu is the "giver of moksha" (liberation), urging you to let go of attachments and seek inner truth.
Karmic Role: Reflects what you’ve mastered or overdone in past lives—skills or burdens you carry forward. It’s the past-oriented node, pulling you toward completion.
House Placement: In the 4th house, Ketu might indicate detachment from home or deep emotional insight; in the 12th, it enhances spirituality or isolation.
Sign Influence: In Sagittarius, Ketu could bring philosophical detachment; in Taurus, a release of material clinging.
Shadow Side: Disconnection, aimlessness, or loss if its spiritual call isn’t heeded.
Rahu and Ketu in the Chart
Axis of Destiny: Together, they form the karmic axis, showing the tension between what you chase (Rahu) and what you must release (Ketu). For example, Rahu in the 1st (self) and Ketu in the 7th (others) might mean a life focused on identity over relationships.
Strength and Weakness: They don’t rule signs like other planets but gain power from their house, sign, and planetary associations (conjunctions or aspects). A Rahu with Venus might exaggerate sensuality; Ketu with Jupiter could deepen wisdom.
Dasha Periods: In the Vimshottari Dasha system, Rahu rules 18 years and Ketu 7 years. Their periods are intense—Rahu’s often bring upheaval or breakthroughs, Ketu’s introspection or loss.
Special Features in Vedic Astrology
Eclipses: Rahu and Ketu are tied to solar and lunar eclipses, seen as karmic reset points. Their transit near the Sun or Moon can trigger significant life shifts.
Exaltation and Debilitation: Traditional texts suggest Rahu is exalted in Taurus or Gemini and debilitated in Scorpio or Sagittarius (vice versa for Ketu), though opinions vary. This affects their potency in a chart.
Yogas: They form powerful combinations (e.g., Kaal Sarp Yoga—when all planets lie between Rahu and Ketu—indicating karmic struggles or intensity).
Remedies: Malefic effects of Rahu (addictions, confusion) or Ketu (detachment, losses) are mitigated through mantras, gemstones (hessonite for Rahu, cat’s eye for Ketu), or rituals.
Practical Example
Rahu in 5th (Leo), Ketu in 11th (Aquarius):
Rahu drives creativity, romance, or speculative risks, possibly obsessively (e.g., gambling or fame-seeking).
Ketu detaches from social circles or long-term goals, fostering inner freedom over group validation.
During Rahu Dasha, expect dramatic creative pursuits; during Ketu Dasha, a shift toward solitude or spiritual insight.
Why They Matter
Rahu and Ketu are the soul’s navigators in Vedic astrology. They don’t just influence—they direct life’s narrative, balancing material hunger with spiritual evolution. Unlike Western astrology, where nodes are secondary, in Jyotish they’re equal players, often outshining traditional planets in karmic weight. They reveal your deepest drives and lessons, making them essential for understanding life’s purpose and timing.
Final Thoughts
The Lunar Nodes are the wild cards of the Vedic chart—unpredictable, potent, and transformative. Rahu pulls you into the world’s chaos and glitter, while Ketu whispers of liberation beyond it. Together, they weave a story of growth through contrast, embodying the Vedic view that life is a dance between illusion and enlightenment.

=====================================================================

(from the Sanskrit "vakri," meaning "crooked" or "reversed")—refer to the apparent backward motion of planets as observed from Earth. This optical illusion occurs due to the relative speeds of Earth and the orbiting planets. While retrogression is an astronomical phenomenon, its astrological interpretation in Vedic tradition carries unique significance, affecting a planet’s behavior, strength, and influence in a birth chart or during transits. Unlike Western astrology, where retrogrades often signal delays or introspection, Vedic astrology views them as a mixed bag—sometimes intensifying a planet’s power, sometimes complicating its expression.
Astronomical Basics
What Happens: A planet appears to move backward through the zodiac when Earth overtakes it in orbit (for outer planets like Mars, Jupiter, Saturn) or when inner planets (Mercury, Venus) pass between Earth and the Sun.
Retrograde Planets: In Vedic astrology, only five planets retrograde: Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. The Sun and Moon never retrograde, and the lunar nodes (Rahu and Ketu) are always retrograde by nature due to their orbital mechanics.
Frequency:
Mercury: ~3 times a year, 3 weeks each.
Venus: Every 18 months, ~6 weeks.
Mars: Every 2 years, ~2-3 months.
Jupiter: Once a year, ~4 months.
Saturn: Once a year, ~4.5 months.
Astrological Interpretation
In Vedic astrology, retrograde motion doesn’t inherently weaken a planet but alters how it delivers its results. The effect depends on the planet’s nature, its sign, house placement, and aspects in the chart. Here’s the general framework:
Enhanced Strength:
A retrograde planet is considered stronger in some contexts because it’s closer to Earth, intensifying its energy. It’s like a planet doubling back to emphasize its lessons or gifts.
Example: Retrograde Jupiter might amplify wisdom or spirituality, but with a twist—perhaps unconventional or introspective.
Delayed or Internalized Results:
Retrograde planets often slow down external outcomes, redirecting their influence inward. This can mean delays, repetition, or a need to revisit themes tied to the planet’s domain.
Example: Retrograde Mercury might delay communication or contracts but sharpen analytical skills through reflection.
Unpredictability:
The "crooked" motion can make a planet’s effects less straightforward, adding quirks or unexpected turns. Benefics (Jupiter, Venus) might become less predictable in their blessings; malefics (Mars, Saturn) could intensify challenges.
Effects by Planet
Each retrograde planet has a distinct flavor in Vedic astrology:
Mercury (Budha):
Domain: Intellect, communication, commerce.
Retrograde Effect: Overthinking, miscommunication, or internalized brilliance. It might delay decisions or travel but heighten focus on details.
Example: In the 3rd house, retrograde Mercury could mean a writer who struggles to publish but excels in private study.
Venus (Shukra):
Domain: Love, luxury, creativity.
Retrograde Effect: Unconventional desires, past-life romantic ties, or delayed relationships. It can deepen artistic expression but complicate partnerships.
Example: In the 7th house, retrograde Venus might attract unique partners or cause hesitation in commitment.
Mars (Mangal):
Domain: Action, courage, aggression.
Retrograde Effect: Suppressed anger, indirect energy, or intense determination. It might delay action but fuel inner resolve.
Example: In the 10th house, retrograde Mars could slow career progress but build resilience through setbacks.
Jupiter (Guru):
Domain: Wisdom, expansion, spirituality.
Retrograde Effect: Introspective growth, alternative beliefs, or delayed prosperity. It turns Jupiter’s outward generosity inward.
Example: In the 9th house, retrograde Jupiter might mean a non-traditional spiritual path or late-blooming luck.
Saturn (Shani):
Domain: Discipline, karma, delays.
Retrograde Effect: Heavier responsibility, karmic introspection, or prolonged lessons. It intensifies Saturn’s weight but can reward persistence.
Example: In the 1st house, retrograde Saturn might burden the self with duty but forge a steely character over time.
Rahu and Ketu: Perpetual Retrogrades
The lunar nodes are always retrograde in Vedic astrology, reflecting their backward orbital path. This reinforces their karmic nature—Rahu’s relentless pursuit of desires and Ketu’s detachment from the past—making them inherently unpredictable and intense.
Retrogrades in the Birth Chart
Placement Matters: A retrograde planet’s house and sign shape its impact. In a kendra (angular house: 1, 4, 7, 10), it might strengthen character; in a dusthana (challenging house: 6, 8, 12), it could amplify struggles.
Aspects: Retrograde planets cast their usual aspects (e.g., Saturn aspects 3rd, 7th, 10th houses from itself), but the influence feels more concentrated or reflective.
Dasha Periods: During a retrograde planet’s Mahadasha or Antardasha (Vimshottari timing), expect its themes to dominate with a twist—progress may stall, then surge unexpectedly.
Retrogrades in Transits
When a planet turns retrograde in the sky, it revisits signs it recently crossed, stirring up unfinished business in the houses it transits. For example:
Retrograde Saturn transiting the 4th house might delay home matters but force a rethink of foundations.
Vedic astrologers often advise caution during these periods, especially for malefics, though remedies (mantras, charity) can ease effects.
Key Differences from Western Astrology
Strength vs. Weakness: Western astrology often sees retrogrades as disruptive or weakening; Vedic views them as potentially empowering, albeit complex.
Focus: Vedic emphasizes karma and life lessons over psychological introspection, so retrogrades signal karmic rework rather than just delays.
Sun/Moon Exclusion: Vedic never considers Sun or Moon retrograde, focusing only on the five planets and nodes.
Practical Example
Imagine retrograde Jupiter in Virgo (6th house):
Interpretation: Wisdom (Jupiter) turns inward, applied to service or health (6th). The native might face delayed recognition but excel in problem-solving or healing over time.
Dasha: During Jupiter’s 16-year Dasha, expect slow but profound growth through adversity.
Remedies and Cultural View
Mitigation: Retrograde malefics (Mars, Saturn) might require mantras (e.g., Hanuman Chalisa for Mars) or gemstones (e.g., blue sapphire for Saturn, if advised).
Philosophy: Retrogrades reflect the Vedic belief in cycles—planets doubling back mirror life’s need to revisit and refine.
Final Thoughts
Planetary retrogrades in Vedic astrology are less about disruption and more about depth. They amplify a planet’s voice, bending its energy inward or outward in unexpected ways. Whether benefic or malefic, a retrograde planet demands attention, weaving complexity into the karmic tapestry of a chart. They’re a reminder that progress isn’t always linear—sometimes the crooked path leads to the richest rewards.

=====================================================================

(Sanskrit for "union" or "combination")—occur when two or more planets occupy the same zodiac sign or house in a birth chart or during a transit. These alignments blend the planets’ energies, creating a potent mix that can amplify, modify, or conflict with their individual influences. Conjunctions are a cornerstone of Vedic interpretation, revealing how planets interact to shape personality, events, and karmic patterns. Unlike Western astrology, which often uses tight orbs (degrees of separation), Vedic astrology considers planets conjunct if they share a sign (30-degree span) or house, with closer proximity intensifying the effect.
Core Concept
Definition: A conjunction happens when planets align closely, merging their qualities—benefic (Jupiter, Venus, Moon, Mercury when unafflicted) or malefic (Mars, Saturn, Sun, Rahu, Ketu)—into a single force.
Significance: The house and sign of the conjunction, the planets involved, and their strengths (exaltation, debilitation, etc.) determine whether the outcome is harmonious or challenging.
Karmic Lens: Conjunctions often signal past-life dynamics or key life themes, especially when involving the lunar nodes (Rahu/Ketu).
How Conjunctions Work
Proximity: Planets within 10-15 degrees of each other in the same sign are strongly conjunct, with effects peaking when they’re within 1-5 degrees. Beyond that, the influence weakens but still exists if they share a house.
House Context: The house hosting the conjunction shows the life area impacted—e.g., 1st (self), 7th (relationships), 10th (career).
Sign Influence: The zodiac sign modifies the conjunction’s flavor—e.g., Mars and Venus in fiery Aries differ from the same pair in watery Pisces.
Aspects: Conjunct planets collectively aspect other houses, amplifying their reach (e.g., Mars aspects 4th, 7th, 8th; Jupiter aspects 5th, 7th, 9th).
Effects of Planetary Conjunctions
The outcome depends on the planets’ natural roles (benefic or malefic), their friendship or enmity, and their condition (exalted, debilitated, retrograde). Here’s a breakdown:
Benefic + Benefic (e.g., Jupiter + Venus):
Effect: Harmony, growth, or abundance. Combines wisdom (Jupiter) with love/luxury (Venus).
Example: In the 2nd house (wealth), this might bring financial prosperity through teaching or art.
Caveat: Overindulgence if afflicted.
Malefic + Malefic (e.g., Mars + Saturn):
Effect: Tension, struggle, or power. Mars’ aggression clashes with Saturn’s restriction, often creating friction.
Example: In the 6th house (enemies), it could mean fierce battles or disciplined victories over obstacles.
Caveat: Can turn productive with effort.
Benefic + Malefic (e.g., Jupiter + Mars):
Effect: Mixed results—constructive or destructive based on balance. Jupiter tempers Mars’ rashness with wisdom.
Example: In the 10th house, it might signal a dynamic career with bold yet guided actions.
Caveat: Conflict if Jupiter is weak.
Planet + Rahu/Ketu:
Rahu Conjunctions: Amplifies materialism or obsession in the partnered planet’s domain. Rahu with Mercury might spark genius or deceit.
Ketu Conjunctions: Spiritualizes or detaches the planet’s energy. Ketu with Moon could deepen intuition but unsettle emotions.
Example: Rahu + Venus in the 7th might bring unconventional relationships; Ketu + Sun in the 1st could dim ego but heighten insight.
Key Factors Influencing Conjunctions
Friendship/Enmity: Planets have natural relationships (e.g., Jupiter and Mars are friends; Venus and Sun are enemies). Friendly pairs blend smoothly; inimical ones clash unless mitigated by sign or house.
Strength: An exalted planet (e.g., Jupiter in Cancer) dominates a conjunction, while a debilitated one (e.g., Jupiter in Capricorn) may struggle to assert itself.
Combustion: If a planet is too close to the Sun (within ~10 degrees), it’s "combust," weakening its expression in the conjunction.
Retrograde: A retrograde planet adds intensity or internalization to the mix, altering the dynamic.
Important Conjunctions (Yogas)
Certain conjunctions form Yogas—special combinations with specific outcomes:
Gajakesari Yoga: Jupiter + Moon. Brings wisdom, fame, and emotional strength. Best in angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10).
Raja Yoga: Jupiter + Venus or Mars + Saturn in key houses. Signals power, wealth, or authority.
Chandra-Mangal Yoga: Moon + Mars. Enhances financial acumen or energy, often through bold moves.
Kaal Sarp Yoga: Not a direct conjunction but involves Rahu/Ketu hemming all planets, indicating karmic intensity.
Conjunctions in Houses
1st House: Shapes personality (e.g., Sun + Mercury = sharp intellect).
4th House: Impacts home/emotions (e.g., Moon + Venus = nurturing comfort).
7th House: Defines relationships (e.g., Mars + Rahu = passionate but unstable ties).
10th House: Drives career (e.g., Saturn + Jupiter = disciplined success).
Conjunctions in Transits
When planets conjunct in the sky, they activate natal houses and planets they transit over:
Example: A transiting Mars-Saturn conjunction in your 10th house might bring intense work pressure but eventual mastery.
Timing: Effects peak during exact conjunctions and align with Dasha periods for maximum impact.
Practical Example
Natal Chart: Mars + Jupiter in Scorpio, 5th house.
Mars (action) and Jupiter (wisdom) in a transformative sign suggest a bold, insightful approach to creativity or children. If Mars is at 10° and Jupiter at 12°, the conjunction is tight, amplifying energy. In Jupiter Dasha, expect dynamic growth; in Mars Dasha, assertive leadership.
Transit: Mercury + Venus conjunct in Libra over your 2nd house. This could spark a period of eloquent negotiations or artistic income.
Remedies
If a conjunction causes strife (e.g., Mars + Saturn), Vedic remedies include:
Mantras (e.g., “Om Shram Shreem Shraum Sah Shanaishcharaya Namah” for Saturn).
Gemstones (e.g., coral for Mars, yellow sapphire for Jupiter, if suitable).
Charity aligned with the planets’ energies.
Final Thoughts
Planetary conjunctions in Vedic astrology are cosmic conversations—sometimes a symphony, sometimes a debate. They fuse planetary forces into a single narrative, revealing how your soul navigates its karmic path. Whether they bless, challenge, or transform depends on the players involved and their stage (house/sign), making them a dynamic, essential piece of the Jyotish puzzle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

effects of specific conjunctions
In Vedic astrology (Jyotish), the effects of planetary conjunctions (Yuti) depend on the planets involved, their natural qualities (benefic or malefic), their friendship or enmity, their strength (exalted, debilitated, retrograde, combust), and their placement in a specific house and sign. Below, I’ll explore the effects of some specific and commonly analyzed conjunctions, focusing on their general implications and how they might manifest in a natal chart. Note that exact outcomes vary based on the individual chart’s context—house, sign, aspects, and Dasha periods—but these breakdowns provide a foundational understanding.
1. Jupiter + Moon (Gajakesari Yoga)
Nature: Both benefic planets—Jupiter (wisdom, expansion) and Moon (mind, emotions).
General Effect: This is a renowned Raja Yoga, symbolizing strength, fame, and emotional intelligence. It’s like an elephant (Gaja) and lion (Kesari)—powerful and regal. Enhances optimism, intuition, and success.
Positive Outcomes:
Strong mental clarity and emotional resilience.
Potential for wealth, recognition, or spiritual growth.
Best in kendra houses (1, 4, 7, 10) or trines (5, 9).
Challenges:
If afflicted (e.g., with Saturn’s aspect), over-idealism or emotional overwhelm might surface.
Weak Moon (debilitated in Scorpio) could dilute Jupiter’s positivity.
Example: In the 4th house (Cancer), it might bring a nurturing home life, property gains, and a wise, caring persona. During Jupiter Dasha, expect prominence or stability.
2. Mars + Saturn
Nature: Both malefic—Mars (aggression, energy) and Saturn (discipline, delays).
General Effect: A tense, volatile mix—Mars pushes for action, Saturn restricts it, creating friction or power struggles. Can be destructive or highly constructive with effort.
Positive Outcomes:
Disciplined ambition, technical skill, or resilience under pressure.
Success in fields like engineering, military, or law if well-placed (e.g., 10th house).
Challenges:
Frustration, delays, or conflict—Mars’ impulsiveness clashes with Saturn’s caution.
Risk of accidents, disputes, or burnout if afflicted (e.g., in dusthanas: 6, 8, 12).
Example: In the 6th house (Virgo), it could mean overcoming enemies through grit but with stress or health strain. Mars Dasha might spark aggression; Saturn Dasha brings slow rewards.
3. Mercury + Venus
Nature: Both benefic—Mercury (intellect, communication) and Venus (love, creativity).
General Effect: A harmonious blend of mind and heart, fostering eloquence, charm, and artistic talent. Ideal for writers, artists, or diplomats.
Positive Outcomes:
Sharp wit paired with grace—great for negotiation or romance.
Wealth through intellect or beauty (e.g., media, design).
Challenges:
Overindulgence in pleasure or scattered focus if weak (e.g., Mercury combust by Sun).
In a malefic sign (e.g., Scorpio), it might lean toward manipulation.
Example: In the 2nd house (Libra), it could bring income through speech or aesthetics—think poets or singers. Venus Dasha enhances luxury; Mercury Dasha sharpens skills.
4. Sun + Mercury (Budha-Aditya Yoga)
Nature: Sun (authority, ego) and Mercury (intellect, adaptability)—neutral-to-benefic combo.
General Effect: Known as Budha-Aditya Yoga, this boosts intelligence, leadership, and communication. Common due to Mercury’s proximity to the Sun.
Positive Outcomes:
Brilliant mind, confidence, and success in education or administration.
Strong in houses like 1st, 5th, or 10th.
Challenges:
If Mercury is combust (too close to Sun, within ~10°), it weakens, causing ego-driven communication or mental strain.
In a weak sign (e.g., Sun in Libra), results diminish.
Example: In the 10th house (Gemini), it might produce a sharp, authoritative professional—think CEOs or scholars. Sun Dasha brings fame; Mercury Dasha refines intellect.
5. Mars + Rahu
Nature: Both malefic—Mars (action, aggression) and Rahu (obsession, illusion).
General Effect: Explosive and unpredictable—Mars’ raw energy meets Rahu’s insatiable drive, often leading to bold risks or chaos.
Positive Outcomes:
Fearless innovation or breakthroughs in uncharted areas (e.g., tech, warfare).
Power through unconventional means if well-aspected.
Challenges:
Recklessness, aggression, or accidents—Mars amplifies Rahu’s delusions.
In dusthanas (6, 8, 12), it might signal danger or obsession.
Example: In the 3rd house (Aries), it could mean a daring communicator or fighter, but with potential scandals. Rahu Dasha drives ambition; Mars Dasha ignites action.
6. Moon + Ketu
Nature: Moon (emotions, mind) and Ketu (detachment, spirituality)—mixed energies.
General Effect: A mystical, unstable pairing—Moon seeks security, Ketu dissolves it, creating emotional depth or turmoil.
Positive Outcomes:
Intuitive, spiritual, or psychic gifts—great for meditation or occult pursuits.
Emotional liberation if harnessed.
Challenges:
Mood swings, isolation, or disconnection from reality.
Weak Moon (e.g., in Scorpio) exacerbates confusion.
Example: In the 12th house (Pisces), it might bring profound spiritual insight but emotional detachment from worldly ties. Ketu Dasha deepens solitude; Moon Dasha stirs feelings.
7. Venus + Saturn
Nature: Venus (pleasure, love) and Saturn (discipline, limitation)—opposites in temperament.
General Effect: A bittersweet combo—Venus craves joy, Saturn imposes structure, blending duty with desire.
Positive Outcomes:
Long-lasting relationships or wealth through hard work.
Artistic discipline (e.g., sculptors, architects).
Challenges:
Delayed love, loneliness, or material struggles.
In a malefic house (e.g., 8th), it might mean unfulfilled desires.
Example: In the 7th house (Capricorn), it could indicate a mature, committed partnership after delays. Saturn Dasha tests endurance; Venus Dasha softens it with rewards.
8. Sun + Rahu
Nature: Sun (ego, authority) and Rahu (ambition, illusion)—intense and shadowy.
General Effect: A power-hungry mix—Sun’s identity merges with Rahu’s craving, often leading to fame or infamy.
Positive Outcomes:
Charismatic leadership or unconventional success.
Strong in angular houses (1, 4, 7, 10).
Challenges:
Ego inflation, scandals, or over-ambition—Rahu eclipses the Sun’s clarity.
Risk of downfall if unaffiliated.
Example: In the 1st house (Leo), it might create a magnetic but controversial personality. Rahu Dasha fuels rise; Sun Dasha tests integrity.
Contextual Factors
House Placement: A benefic conjunction in a trine (5, 9) enhances luck; a malefic one in a dusthana (6, 8, 12) heightens struggles.
Sign Influence: Mars + Jupiter in fiery Sagittarius is bold and expansive; in watery Cancer, it’s protective but moody.
Strength: Exalted planets (e.g., Venus in Pisces) dominate; debilitated ones (e.g., Mars in Cancer) falter.
Dasha Timing: The conjunction’s effects peak during the planets’ Mahadasha or Antardasha periods.
Final Thoughts
Specific conjunctions in Vedic astrology are like chemical reactions—some fuse into gold, others spark fireworks. Their effects are dynamic, shaped by the chart’s broader story, and can shift from blessings to lessons based on placement and timing. Analyzing them requires blending planetary nature with house/sign context, making each conjunction a unique signature of karmic interplay. Remedies (mantras, gems) can balance malefic combos, while strong yogas amplify their promise. Which conjunction interests you most for a deeper dive?

Health and optimism improve—Jupiter’s grace heals past struggles.
Challenges:
Overconfidence or extravagance if Jupiter is weak (e.g., debilitated in Capricorn).
Stagnation if in a dusthana (6, 8, 12) or afflicted by malefics—growth slows.

Example: Jupiter in 9th (Sagittarius)—a golden period of luck, travel, or spiritual awakening.

Helio - the Sun - a Star

What is heliocentric Astrology, what is sidereal Astrology...

Heliocentric means to look at the solar-system from its center - the Sun... Like this we see the planets and all other bodies including Earth orbiting the Sun also in astrological charts... I call this the "Observer view"....

Yes, we get to observe and being more "objective" of what we see - we can transcend the angular distortions and see the "true connections" Earth makes within the whole family called solar-system and on a personal level our "individual connection".
Because we/Earth orbit the Sun, an axis (polarity) is created and when we look from the Sun, we see Earth - yes, that means we All do have an Earth sign ...

The Moon is Earth bound - orbiting Earth and therefore in heliocentric view always within minutes conjunct Earth...
I often call them together the "Earth/Moon system".

"Houses" and "Signs" - their relationships in Astrology
"Houses" and "Signs" - their relationships in Astrology

Heliocentric Astrology explained
Heliocentric Astrology explained

As the "observer" we gain access to broader views not only of the solar-system but further, we can examine the real interplanetary cycles, planetary nodes and orbital points which all give more insights of the function of a body - because they do "evolve" too, they're as much part of the All as we are...
Beside that, we ourselves, can "jump" out or over the emotional drama and fear based (egoic) view... we may gain access to reason or cause that is otherwise more difficult to detect...

Sidereal means "star-time"...

it means the actual placements of the bodies in the heavens put into an astrological chart with reference to the ecliptic, which then describes the direct "interaction with Earth", especially when we also consider the planetary nodes as the "path of action".
I'm using a 12-sign based zodiac, yet with outlined constellations and on the side "sky maps" of major stars and the constellations (88 of those) - they all add to the energies...

Yes I know, it sounds all a bit complicated and technical.... Short, I could go as far as to say, the heliocentric sidereal chart will show you the perspective of the "higher self", of the observer, the objective part of self.... Imagine to be one of the "Gods" sitting on Mount Olympus, looking down on Earth and decide to "descend"...
Who is Saturn and what does he teach us?
Saturn is not one who would start a post with pretty words and thoughts just to make us feel better. He doesn’t bring comfort or joy  –  he brings reality, sometimes in its harshest form.

Saturn rules separation, not just in relationships but in the ultimate sense: separation from everything we love and hold dear. Saturn teaches us about letting go, accepting impermanence and moving through hardship.

Wherever Saturn is located in your chart signifies a place where you may experience struggle, sorrow and suffering: how strong this suffering will be depends on the condition of Saturn and when it will take place depends on timing.

Saturn’s lessons include:
Karma: Saturn is the great karmic reckoner. The difficulties he brings are not random  –  they are deeply tied to the lessons we need to learn from past actions.

Isolation and loneliness: One of Saturn’s main lessons is solitude. While some may turn to meditation or spiritual discipline to embrace this isolation, others may experience it as loneliness. Saturn’s energy brings distance from people and pleasures, forcing us to confront ourselves in the quiet spaces of life.

Death and decay: Saturn rules dying  –  not just the physical end of life, but the slow process of aging, decay and degeneration. He reminds us that everything in life will fade, including our own bodies. Diseases of old age, like arthritis, tooth decay, deafness and general debility, all fall under Saturn’s rulership. Through these hard truths, he teaches us to detach and prepare for the ultimate separation.

Aging and ripening: While Saturn rules over aging and decay, this process is also about ripening. Just as a fruit becomes more nourishing when it’s fully matured, we, too, gain wisdom through the slow unfolding of life’s experiences. Saturn’s influence teaches that true understanding, spiritual depth and maturity can only come with time and patience.

Understanding the importance of tradition: Not everything in life needs to be that newfangled, latest trend. Saturn calls us to contemplate on the value of tradition and that which has stood the test of time.

When Saturn is Strong in Your Chart
The benefits of a strong, well-placed Saturn include:

Achievement through perseverance: People with a strong Saturn are often those who manage to achieve great success through sheer willpower and hard work – despite their many challenges. They are reliable and consistent.

Maturity and wisdom: A well-placed Saturn brings wisdom, often beyond one’s years. These are individuals who tend to handle responsibilities with grace.

Strong in the face of suffering and hardship: These are not people who are easily knocked down by the first strong wind. Someone with a strong Saturn may also be skilled at helping alleviate the (Saturnian) suffering of others, for example, through grief counselling, helping the poor or focusing on medical fields such as geriatrics.

Meditation and withdrawal: Saturn’s influence can push one toward a solitary, meditative life. Spiritual discipline, especially practices like fasting, silence and withdrawal from material pleasures, is deeply Saturnian. This planet forces us to turn inward, to confront our fears, and to find peace in detachment.

Signs Where Saturn is Strong
Saturn is particularly strong in Capricorn and Aquarius, the two signs it rules, as well as in Libra, its sign of exaltation.

Capricorn: Saturn in Capricorn emphasizes ambition, discipline, and the ability to navigate the material world. These individuals often work their way up to positions of power through determination and consistency.

Aquarius: Saturn in Aquarius brings focus on social order and long-term visionary goals. Here, Saturn’s influence leans toward humanitarian efforts and reshaping structures for the greater good.

Libra: In Libra, Saturn’s exaltation brings balance between structure and fairness. It is a harmonious placement where Saturn’s discipline is balanced by Venusian diplomacy, resulting in a strong sense of social justice and responsibility.

6th house

Sep. 28th, 2023 12:36 pm
The 6th house in mundane Vedic astrology does not have a direct connection with natural disasters like earthquakes, but it can indicate the impact of such events on the public health, sanitation, and civil services of a country. For example, if the 6th house or its lord is afflicted by malefic planets or aspects, it can show that the country is vulnerable to diseases, epidemics, or environmental issues caused by natural disasters. On the other hand, if the 6th house or its lord is well-placed and aspected by benefic planets, it can show that the country has a strong and efficient system of health care, hygiene, and emergency response to deal with the aftermath of natural disasters. The 6th house can also show the relations of a country with its enemies or rivals, and how they may exploit or help in times of crisis12.

The 6th house in Vedic astrology corresponds mostly to health, wellness and daily routine. All aspects of a healthy lifestyle such as diet, nutrition, exercise and the pursuit of self-improvement are related to the 6th house. Interestingly, this house is also the ruler of pets and small cattle, maybe because of the role they play in our health and daily responsibilities. The 6th house is related to enemies, debts, disease, job and occupation. Also known as the House of Sickness, this house reveals illnesses and the expected duration of existing diseases. Those with birth charts in this zone are often driven by organization and structure. They tend to focus on time and calendar management. It also indicates the relationships you share with co-workers, labour and maternal relatives. This house represents the disputes and litigation you are involved in and your ability to manage them. It is also a sign of self-discipline and selfless service. As the realm of unpleasantness and servitude, the 6th house tests the power of your love. Does it expand you beyond your own self-fulfilment, your likes and dislikes?1234

The Sun in Fourth House
Sutras 43-50-If the Sun is in the fourth house, the native will have defective limbs, he will be proud, will be opposed to the public and will be hot constitutionally. In the 32nd year of his life he will get congenial environments. He will then become respected and successful, will be learned, attain a high position and will become valorous.

He will not, however, be well off financially. If the lord of 4th house is strong (by being exalted) or is in his own sign and is posited in a quadrant (Kendra) or trine (trikona house namely 1,5 or 9), he will acquire high class conveyances. If the lord of the 4th is associated with or aspected by a malefic or is placed in a bad house (3, 6,8 or 12), the native will have to do with a low type of conveyance. He will have no land of his own and will live in other people’s houses.
Comments–It is said that the native will have defective limbs if the Sun is in the fourth. This is a very general statement Our view is that because of malefic influence of the Sun only that part of the body can become defective which is governed by the fourth house. The statement that the native will do well in the 32nd year of his life and will attain high position etc. can be verified by practical experience. We have found it correct in only one case so far. It is not clear how after getting a favourable turn in his life and attaining a high position, the native will not be well off financially. Perhaps the Sun will not allow him to accumulate wealth, Bhrigu Sutras-has given great importance to the position of the lord of the 4th house in delineating its effects. This is a very logical and weighty principle. No house can prosper unless its lord is well placed. The fourth house signifies native’s own land, own house and his native place. In spite of the Sun being in the fourth house, if the lord of the 4th house is strong and well placed, the native will enjoy the comforts of his own land, house and native place. If the lord of the 4th is ill placed or is otherwise under malefic influence, the native will be deprived of these comforts. It is evident that the Sun alone is not good for the signification of the 4th house. It is surprising that Bhrigu Sutras makes no mention of the mother of which the 4th house is a strong significator. Our view is that the mother will suffer by the presence of the Sun in the 4fh house unless the Sun is in his own sign or has benefic influence on him or the lord of the 4th and the Moon are well placed. The Sun will also adversely affect the domestic happiness of the native.

Note-It will be seen that all the works mentioned above speak of adverse results on account of the presence of the Sun in the •fourth house. Their conclusions are logical and relevant to the significations of the fourth house. They do not contradict the views given by Bhrigu Sutras but supplement them. Only Manasagari has given beneficial results with which we respectfully express our dissent. In our practical experience, we have seen Sun in 4th house (without any benefic influence) playing havoc with the lives of people. One Makar Lagna (Capricorn Ascendant) native had Sun in Aries (exalted) in the 4fh house. She had at one time been a leading actress in the Indian films. We have no words to describe the wretched life she was leading in her mid-forties when she met us. Not bad off financially (as her horoscope was otherwise good), she had a very disturbing domestic life and had absolutely no peace of mind. Her husband and children had all joined against her to make her life miserable.
The Sun in the Fifth House
Sutras 51-58-If the Sun is in the fifth house, the native will be poor, of bulky body and in his seventh year his father will face death, serious illness or misfortune. The native will be wise and brilliant but will have few children. If the lord of the 5th is well placed and strong there will be no death of sons. If the Sun is associated with Rahu or Ketu, there will be loss of children due to curse of the Serpent God. If the Sun is in conjunction with Mars, there will be loss of children due to enemy but there will be no such loss s if the combination of the Sun and Rahu or the Sun and Ketu or the Sun and Mars is aspected by a benefic (Jupiter or Venus). When the Sun is in the fifth house the native will become a devotee of the Sun God. If the Sun is strong the children will be prosperous.
Comments-The 5th is 9th to 9th house and is therefore treated as a house of fortune (Bhagya) also. The author’s view seems to be that the Sun as a malefic afflicts the 5th house and therefore the native remains devoid of wealth. While we agree with this view, we also hold the view that the native will have good fortune if the Sun becomes a functional benefic on account of lordship of an auspicious house. The Sun is a functional benefic, (a) For Taurus Ascendant when as lord of the 4th in 5th , (6) Leo Ascendant when as lord of the Ascendant, he will be in the 5th, (c) for Libra Ascendant when he will be lord of 11th in the 5th , (d) for Scorpio Ascendant when as lord of the 10th he will be in the 5th and (e) for Sagittarius Ascendant when as lord of the 9th he will be in the 5th in Aries, his sign of exaltation. In these cases the Sun in 5th will make the native wealthy, learned, respected and very intelligent. There is no doubt that affliction of the Sun by Rahu, Ketu or Mars in the 5th house will cause loss of children unless there is a powerful influence of a benefic on the 5th house. The adverse results may also not occur if the lord of the 5th and Jupiter (significator of children) are well placed and have benefic influence on them. It is said that if the Sun is strong in the fifth, the sons will be prosperous. This will happen only when the Sun is in his own sign Leo or when the Sun is in Aries his sign of exaltation. When the Sun is posited in these signs, the native will not only be well off himself, he will be blessed with healthy and prosperous children who will be a source of happiness to him.
Other Views
Brihat Jataka-The person concerned will be childless and with out wealth.
Phaldeepika-The native will be bereft of happiness, wealth and children. He will also be short lived. He will be intelligent and wise and will be fond of wandering in the jungles.
Saravali-The native will be unhappy, poor, without children, agriculturist, resident of mountainous regions, wise, without bodily strength and short lived.
Chamatkar Chintamani-The native will lose his eldest son. He will be very intelligent and will influence others by his superior knowledge. He will accumulate wealth. He will die on account of some stomach ailment.
Note-It will be seen that the views expressed in the above recognised works tally in essence with those expressed in Bhrigu Sutras. As we have already stated in our detailed comments above, the adverse results such as loss of children etc. with the Sun in the 5th will be experienced with ascendants other than Aries, Taurus, Leo, Libra, Scorpio and Sagittarius. Of course adverse results may be expected in the case of all the ascendants when the Sun, the fifth house, lord of the 5th and Jupiter are under malefic influence. The accumulation of wealth as mentioned in Chamatkar Chintamani will happen only when the Sun in the 5th is a functional benefic. This work also says that native will. die from a stomach ailment. The reasoning behind this statement is that the 5th house represents amongst other things the stomach also. The affliction of the 5th house by the Sun will cause stomach ailments.

In other words, he cannot undertake any permanent or continuing nature of work.

His spouse may not keep good health. Moreover, his married life is not cordial, mainly due to difference of opinion on silly matters, and the adamant nature of the native. 1. Physical Features: It is very difficult to define or describe the body structure or the look of Pushyami born native, as there is no specific structure exclusively enjoyed by Pushyami born. In other words, varying sizes are noticed. One rare sign, as a mark of identification noticed in these persons, is that there will be a distinguished mark, may be a scar or a black mole on their face.
2. Character and general events: He is very weak at heart. He finds it difficult to reach at conclusion on any matter. He will have good knack of behavior but that behavior is only for the sake of selfish interest. This clearly indicates that his outward expression is hypocritical and against his consciousness i.e. the inner expression is negative and the outward expression is positive. Respecting others is unknown to him whereas expectation of respect is within him. He responds quickly to admiration and become quickly deflated by criticism, giving himself to love and affection with sincerity and appreciation, yet he is ever mindful of slights and he hesitate to form strong attachments.

3. Education, sources of earning/profession: He will jump upon any work without judging or thinking whether he is capable of doing such work or not, and ultimately push him into utter failure in any work he undertakes. It would be better if he assess his capacity and ability for the specific field where he can shine well and then start doing the job. While he wants to complete the work which he commences or assigned to him in perfect condition, the outcome in most of the cases i.e negative because of his too much independent nature. His abilities are many faceted but his success is as probable in the theatre or the arts of in commerce.
In most cases it is seen that Pushy born will have to face the grip of poverty up to the age of 15-16 years of age and thereafter he will enjoy a mixture of good and bad, where plus will be less and minus will be more up to the age of 32 years. Circumstances will be so warranted that he will be forced to stay away most of the time from his wife and children even though he is very much wanting to be attached with them. He expects his wife to be thoroughly self sufficient, with creditable talents and to be correct and conservative in manner and dress. If the marriage of the native is performed without proper comparison or tallying of the horoscope, he may lose all rational perspective and begin to doubt his wife rather than admitting his own lack of discernment. He has a tendency of giving reply on any matter without forethought and he wakes up at the eleventh hour and try to rectify his utterances when it is too late.
He has to confront his enemies at every step but he is capable of escaping any conspiracy. He has soft corner for the down trodden people and he devotes his time and energy for the uplift of this section of the society. But one of the hidden factors is that initially his approach to the down trodden will be without any selfish motive, which later on culminates into selfish motive.
3. Education, sources of earnings / profession : Obstacles in the life is not a hurdle for the advancement for him. He can overtake all these hurdles with his courage and hard work. He will not be leading a comfortable life up to the age of 32 years. Period between 33 years and 54 years of age will be his golden period.
One of the redeeming features of Citra born is that he gets help and reward from unexpected quarters without putting much efforts. From several horoscopes examined by me, it is seen that the age of 22, 27, 30, 36, 39, 43 and 48 years of age will be very bad in all respect. The native may earn as a sculptor or mechanic or as a factory employee or the native will be in the political arena or the native may be be an engineer or a textile technologist.
4. Family life : While on the one hand he sincerely loves his co-borns, and parents, on the other hand he suspects the activities of the co-borns and parents. Citra born cannot, in most of the cases enjoy the benefit, love and affection from his father. It is also noticed that the father of the native leads a separated life. In any case, he has a life away from his father. One of the points noticed is that his father in spite of separation from the native have some distinct identity of his own i.e., will be famous or known in a particular field. He is more attached to his mother and enjoy benefits from the maternal side.
There is a saying that the Citra born cannot stay in the house where he is born. Either the native will leave the house and settle down somewhere else or the house he is born itself will be sold or destroyed. In other words, he will be settling down in an unknown and distant place away from his native house.
Normally he cannot enjoy a happy married life. When we say a happy married life, while the marriage will be stable the relationship between the couples will not be cordial leading to frequent friction on small matters. He has to shoulder lot of responsibilities and face lot of criticisms throughout his life

16. VISHAKHA NAKSHATRA

Male Natives
1. Physical Features: His face will be round, bright and physical appearance extremely attractive. We have noticed two types of physical appearance i.e. one with fatty and long structure and the other with very lean and short structure.
2.  Character and general events: He will have full of vigor and vitality as also intelligence of the highest order. He is firm believer of god and leads a life of truthful existence. He does not believe in the orthodox principles not the age old tradition. He is fond of adopting modern ideas.
Mostly he lives away from his family. He is ready to give weight to others in excess of what is actually required depending on the weight of the persons to whom he is dealing in. Slavery is suicidal for him. While he is very much religiously active, he does not follow any superstitious religious fanaticism. He treats all religions, castes and creed as one. He is a follower of Gandhian philosophy of 'Ahimsa Paramodharma' (Religion is Non-violence) and 'Truth is God'. In certain cases I have seen that such type of persons accept Sanyasa (saintism) when they touch 35 years of age. When we sanyasa it does not mean that complete detraction from the 'Grihastashram' (duty towards the family). He will simultaneously look after the family and follow sanyasa.
3.  Education, sources of earning/profession: He is a very good orator and has the capacity to attract crowd. He will win several prizes in elocution competition. Hence he is the fittest person to be in the political circle. There is a peculiar spending tendency in him. While on the one side he is very stingy on the spending on the other side he is extravagant in the spending where it is not required.
He is fit for doing an independent business, job involving high responsibility, banking and religious professions, mathematician or a teacher or a printer.
4. Family life: He cannot enjoy love and affection of mother. One of the primary reasons for such lack of care may either due to mother's death or unavoidable circumstances and atmosphere which warrant his mother to be away from the native. There may be several beneficial points of his father with which he can always be proud of. Even then, not much help will be derived from his father also. In other words, we have to come to a conclusion that the native leads more or less a life of an orphan. There may be a lot of difference of opinion between his father and him on several points where an amicable settlement on any matter may not be possible. It is due to these reasons he is right from the childhood a hardworking and self made person.
He loves his wife and children very much. Even so, he has two bad qualities. One is that he is addicted to alcohol and another is that he indulges in too much sex with other ladies. In spite of these weaknesses he will not make this weaknesses as hindrance either in the family or social life.
5.  Health:  Since has inherent vigor and vitality given by the god, his health will normally be very good. However, he is prone to paralytic attack. I have in more than 70 percent of Vishakha born people noticed this paralytic attack after the age of 55 years. In the remaining 30 percent cases, I have every doubt that the native could not provide me the correct birth time as otherwise the same symptom of paralytic attack would have in one form or the other present in them. It is also seen that they are prone to asthmatic attack.

Hence our ancients who have written this dictum are also correct to the extent of separation, but not to the extent of death. For causing death other planetary affliction is also necessary and birth in this Nakshatra alone is not sufficient.

What would happen if we did a synastry reading between one person's placidus natal chart and the other person's sidereal natal chart? I didn't get to see if other people are doing this or if this is even a practice. Has anyone ever done it? I think it would be an intresting way to analyse the synastry between 2 people. It's just a thought that popped up in my mind. What are your opinions?
